My idea is custom block drops.

When you press Y on a block you can customize what it drops.
You can also set percentages for other items that you want
to drop off the block you customized. (Creative only)

TBH when I first read this I was skeptical but after some thought this could actually be useful.

I would love to use this in order to make gold ore drop coins when mining, as the ore is basically useless right now for RPGs. I'm sure there's plenty of other possibilities too.

If you want players to get certain items at certain points in your world put it in a chest. If blocks are set to drop whatever you want them to drop then people will do dumb things like make grass drop battle axe or something like that.

Sure, people will do dumb things, but that's inevitable. Why limit the options that players have just based on the fact that a few of the members of the total miner community might be stupid with it? With that path of logic, signs, NPCs, custom mob drops, and the ability to place blocks should all be removed!
