Biomes
« on: April 27, 2014, 09:08:35 AM »
A couple of ideas for when infinite terrain comes out;

Sea: a large body of water. When using a bucket, there will be a 15% chance of getting a salt block.

Forests: ivy would spawn in this biome. There would be random swarms of insects that would not hurt the player.

Glacier: this would sometimes spawn in the sea.

Desert: palm trees would spawn from saplings planted in this biome.

I personally use flatland but these are great. I had proposed insects before and got shot down.

I like the palm tree idea a lot. To expand a little on what you've come up with it woul be nice to see miniature biomes within large ones. As for a few examples:

Glacier within Ocean (said in OP)
Oasis within Desert
Volcano within Mountain
Canyon within Desert
Abandoned Village/House within Grassland

I'm all for new biomes but just to let you know glaciers do not form in water. You must be thinking of icebergs.
