[Scripts] Requests for new Script Commands & Options

Zone .. [finite]
-Finite resource zone parameter to set individual zones resource type.

Zone .. [skills]
-Skill zones parameter to activate skills in particular zones.



Notify .. [r,g,b] [milliseconds]
-Displaying colour modified notifications for adjustable periods.



Health [add|take] [qty]
-Used to give or take health points from players



History [name\*] [clear]

Wildcard. Example:
History [Quest\1\*] [clear]
-Clears all history records in Quest\1 folder



Ctrl select
-Function in script menu. Allowing multiple individual lines of script to be selected.



Replace Text
-Option in script menu. Able to be used on just the selected lines.


Script [xyz] [xyz] ..
-Additional coordinate parameters which when used will run the script for all players in that area.

Script .. [zone]
-Additional zone parameter which when used will run the script for all players in the named zone.



NamePlate [r,g,b]
-Alter the colours of players nameplates - this is essentially a method for clans or teammates to easily recognise friend or foe, but perhaps the Clan command will evolve a better method, as this one proposed here would also require another way for players to determine the host & admins.



Show Running Scripts
-A menu option which displays a list of all currently running scripts.

These would both be great, particulary the zone script.
I know 2.0.1 is focusing on bug fixes, but i'm reaaaaaaally hoping Craig considers this one.

I think the teleport command if it is added should be creative restricted (No survival or Dig Deep), I support both ideas, I think they should in options list all the 50 something tracks they have in the game, And then you can add a script command like-
[playtrack] [track1] [10x10]
And it plays the track in a 10x10 block area kinda like the ambient sound block.
It's for when you want like different music during gameplay when it is activated

Also is this supposed to be in ideas? or....?

Agreed, Creative only for teleport command.
I like your suggestion. will add it into OP, although i don't know if it's possible for the actual game music tracks to be played like ambient block.. only one way to find out..

..& these are not really 'ideas' as such, more like requests for extra ways to use the things which are already in the game; which is what scripts do.. that's my reasoning for it being here anyway

Mud as you are collating all script ideas on the thread do you fancy adding the "copy from player change log" and "copying of multi lines" to here

I thought of another thing well responding to that one thread it would be adding and clearing player inventory, It would be like (The comment lines are to help you figure out which is which)

//To clear player inventory
ClearPlayerInventory [playername]

Or maybe
//To clear players in zone inventory
ClearPlayerInventoryInZone [zone1]

Those could both work with the add player inventory

//To add to player inventory
AddPlayerInventory [playername]
Or
//To add to player inventory inside of zone
AddPlayerInventoryInZone [zone1]

Or maybe the zones and the individual inventory could both be in it like

AddPlayerInventory
AddPlayerInventoryInZone
ClearPlayerInventory
ClearPlayerInventoryInZone

I thought of another thing well responding to that one thread it would be adding and clearing player inventory

Scripts cannot target specific players. I have added your idea but in a modified form which i believe to be a more feasible method.

I made a topic for suggestions soon after 2.0 release, I guess people missed it so you could maybe add the ones you like to this topic :P.

I'd like to make a small list on how I think some of the scripts could be improved.

Notify- Currently a notice will only appear in lower case text, not been a grammar nazi but the use of capitals would be nice. Also for notify for long messages the amount of time to read it isn't sufficient, been able to control this would help but with a limit off course. 

Add inventory- Currently So far I have only been able to add inventory to a chest and not to a player occupying the coordinates specified in the script. I know a few players have been trying this.

Coordinates- a way of fast copying coordinates possibly using a marker. I place a marker down and click copy coordinates. When I go to use the script I can "paste coordinates of marker(s)"

Ability to remove/edit change log to remove mistakes.

Ability to turns scripts off whilst playing Multiplayer. (This is due to players triggering scripts whilst I'm building and me having to manually reset them.)


More will be added when in have the time. Feel free to add your own.

Instance Script command. [instance][number] [Player/Map]
A command to be stated at the start of a script. Instance command can only be activated once. Attempting to activate it again will result in nothing happening.

[Instance] - Name of script command
[Number] - The number relating to the Instance. Example - Instance 1
[Player] - The script can only activated once per player. If the player tried to activate nothing will happen.
[Map] - The script can only be activated once per map. If the script is triggered for one player it is triggered for all. If any player tries to activate the script again it will not activate again.


Multiple instance. [Multiple] [Number] [Player/Map]
Works More or less the same as instance script. But allows for different instances to occur.
For Example Player 1 pressing the button may allow for an instance 1 where an diamond sword Is given, Player 2 may press the button activating instance 2 opening a door to an advantage point.

[Multiple] -Name of Script command
[Number]- which instance the script command can use.
[Player/Map] - See previous description listed in instance script command.

I'm odd balling here so, some feedback would be appreciated. :D

uhm this one here tho i dont think is necessary because scripts cannot target or acknowledge particular players & the rest can be done already using scripts to replace blocks/scripts.

Script zones. It would allow for scripts to activate based on what a player does rather than where they step. Basically. My idea was a bit more complicated than that but still.

I'd like to see a CancelScript [script] command which checks if the specified script is currently active and, if it is, cancels it.

An option to set a waypoint wherever you like.

SetWaypoint [xxx,yyy,zzz] [Name] - [Toggle|on|off]

Sets a wait point on people's screen, with a name above it (in small text)
And the ability to turn it off or on so it disappears, or appears.
