New controls
« on: April 08, 2014, 02:29:05 AM »
I started playing the new update this morning and found the controls annoying with the hotbar (with all the blocks in it) because I kept switching the wrong thing and then you have to cycle through the entire list again
also the new fly button took some time getting used to and is a tad unresponsive for me
just wondering if anyone else is feeling like some of the controls are irritating or if you guys all love them

I think navigating the hot bar should be fine once you get used o it but  the new fly addition is horrible for a builder... either too slow or too fast!!!

Hotbar is incomplete and will be fixed. Fly speed will also see improvements.

I would of thought that flying would be like walking. Push a little for slow, alot for fast.

Personally, I've already gotten used to the new controls and the hotbar. I think it's fine. The fly is pretty ok as well, the slow one is how old fly used to start and the fast is how it used to end. Quick presses of X can make things go by smoothly.
sure is cold, better wear snow armor

which is why i hate the fly, before the fly was the perfect speed for building.
Now with the new fly building anything will take 3-4 times as long, you are either way to slow, or uncontrollably fast.
the hot bar will be good after it gets its improvements, but until then there needs to be an option to remove it.

Getting more acquainted with the hotbar and the flying i agree is making building large structures annoying

I think the hotbar is the only thing cold about this update (oh, wow, I nearly broke my back stretching for that joke). Glad to see it's a development priority still.
