Our Atmosphere



Hello, this topic is about my brand new map Our Atmosphere. Our Atmosphere is a death match like no other where
you will be able to be 1 of over 10 races, each race has its own buffs that will help you in a certain way.
This map is built entirely out of floating islands that were all hand crafted by myself.
You are able to purchase you own island and even vehicles like Zeplins, Planes, Hot Air Balloons and much,
much more! This is a hardcore map so don't complain if you die!


The Classes

A Class is a character that Has a perk or buff that is unique to that character and it's skill tree.
You will be able to chose 1 of 10 races. Skill trees can be rebuilt at a cost.

Akita
A cat type character that is swift and sneaky.

► Five extra points on your Defence skill tree ◄
► Five extra points on your Cooking skill tree ◄
► Can use short cuts ◄

Goblin
An ugly character that is great at looting

► Five extra points on your Alchemy skill tree ◄

Warrior
A fearless character that is powerful and strong.

Vehicles

There are many tiers of vehicles which all benefit you in a way. You will need coal to power you vehicle.
Each vehicle can move a different amount of blocks with a stack of coal depending on the vehicles tier and location.
Different locations have different economy's that differ from time to time, this may result in a higher coal
requirement to move your ship.

Are the different races going to have different perks for the whole map? for the vehicles part, I'd suggest:
  • A race that maybe uses less fuel when moving.
  • A race dedicated to a "smuggler" class or something which are allowed to carry illegal trade goods on their zeplin.
  • A race that has a bonus when trading with ship goods.
  • A race that pays nothing to store a zeiplin etc at a hanger/harbour.
  • A race that can repair their ship for less
Just a couple ideas c:

I was already planning the following.
A race dedicated to a "smuggler" class or something which are allowed to carry illegal trade goods on their Zeplin.
A race that pays nothing to store a Zeiplin etc at a hanger/harbour.
A race that can repair their ship for less

I may use the other ideas though, i like the one where you use less fuel.

If you were to incorporate a deathmine-esque feature, then perhaps you could make it so rarer minerals would spawn deeper down in the islands, and activating a script would reset the mined rocks and ores (maybe the ores would even have a bit of randomness to what they were?), unless of course you bought the island.

I was quite confused on what to do in the mine areas. I was thinking either a huge island with a big cave full of ores with PvP or Clouds with ores inside of them floating in the air with lower gravity. I'm still confused on what to do but i will probably use the island idea because it's more simple. I would more the definitely make a script where it would be random. Thanks for your suggestion.

Thank you, i appreciate the feedback. I will most likely updating the OP with pictures once the map has been built a little. This means waiting for PC release but don't sleep on this, i promise this will be worth the wait.

From what i saw on the Xbox 360 (the beginning anyways), you had nice crafted floating islands. are those gonna be the only forms of land on the map? assuming its the same build

Not to sure yet, could be more. Was thinking of an island involving clouds. We shall see.

OP Updated: Compact layout so you don't have to scroll a lot. Added a new Class and vehicle. Next OP Update will be big.
