Dying Hope

News Broadcast:
Just two weeks ago,An unknown virus spread through the island of Moribundo,which is just off the east coast of Brazil. Officials state that this unknown pathogen originated from the city of Horta, a mixture of crowded streets,mountainous landscapes,and spread out shanty towns.

Story:
You are an undercover FRG Agent,sent to the island of Moribundo to find out the true source of the virus,and find a way to cure it.You will come across a bunch of survivors,and fellow FRG agents all over Horta,and you will save Moribundo from a disaster of unprecedented proportions.
 
Features:
White = Not new
Orange = new
Purple = Concept(an idea, a possibility)
Red = cancelled

A few types of zombies:
Walker:
      Aggression: ++---
      health: ++---
      Threat Level: ++---
      Strength: Strong in numbers
      Weakness: sluggish and weak when not in a horde

Infected:
      Aggression: ++++-
      Speed: ++++-
      Threat Level: ++++-
      Strength: stronger attack than regular walker
      Weakness: Lowered health
     


Volatile: 
      Aggression: ++++++
      Speed: +++--
      Threat Level: +++++
      Strength: Aggression levels are SUPER HIGH!
      Weakness: Only comes out at night

Destroyer:
      Aggression: +++++
      Speed: ++++
      Threat Level: +++++
      Strength: STRONG,FAST,AND DEADLY
      Weakness: very rare

Playable night hunter(choose between the spider,or the warewolf:
      Aggression: +++++
      Speed: ++++-
      Threat Level: ++++-
      Strength: instant kill
      Weakness: a bronze tool is a 3 hit kill against it.


Gameplay:
Airdrops around the map are in pvp zones,so be careful!
Safezones
Quarantine areas(new mutated zombies,but extra rewards)
you will be able to go inside 70% of the buildings(at least)
The map is old town,tightly packed buildings mixed with open areas of grassy terrain
Note: The map will increase in side, i will add new areas, and other cool features,once infinite worlds comes out.
15-20 main story-line missions,in which you find out the source of the epidemic,and find a cure for this unknown virus.These story-line missions will put you through an action packed and emotional story as you met survivors in old town.
At least 30 playable side quests
at least 30 repeatable side quests
Day/Night cycle: At day, its time to scavenge the lands for food and weapons.
At nighttime, its time to run,kill and climb your way to the nearest safe zone.You do NOT want to be outside at nighttime.(BETTER LOOT AT NIGHTTIME)

No square boxes. Use detail and design in your favor. Creativity is your best friend in this case. I wish you loom on the map ^_^

When it comes to the over-all design, I think you should go with the style of Dying Light. Dying Light has a very distinct design which really brings out the zombie apocalyptic vibe. Not only that, but the horror aspect will definitely increase "depends how you build/design your world" especially if your going to include the Day/night cycle effect. If you were to build this type, then you may want to include elements of the slums, old-town, and possibly the unexplored urban area which is only seen around the barriers. Research is the key  8) ::) :-X

Here are some tips of designing a Zombie type map
-add blood "Dark-red blocks" around your environment.
-add vegetation/dirt to your environment "optional"
-Don't make npc dialogue too basic for ex." We're hungry, get us food"
-Use pictures/concept art as references when building your world
-Plan out your design before you get down to business "VERY IMPORTANT"
-include signs of destruction "Fire,damaged buildings,smoke etc."
-include signs of civil defense activity "barricades,quarantine zones,etc"
-include signs of survivor activity "notes,beds,torches,campsites,safe houses,etc"
-plan out the background story of the map "VERY IMPORTANT , but optional ::)"
-make most buildings enter-able "for RPG based maps"

Update:


I am currently working on a map which focuses on scripts and a small map for dying hope.This will more than likely be the slums.

The reason for this is because the testing required for this map to work is quite extensive,so i thought i would make a map for people to join, play,and give their thoughts and opinions on the world.
