If it's all the same to you, I much prefer the old sandstone to the new one. It may not be the exact same style, But it looked more like the image I associate with sandstone.
Sure. How about the others? As long as people are fine with the old textures, I won't change them

So I've decided I am going to redo bricks, and try to make the bricks more uneven and less perfect looking. Any tips on how to design them?

Going to be playing through Call of Juarez: Gunslinger for research and and inspiration. Expect more western themed items to appear soon

I completely suck at making items. I will just stick to making blocks for now and hope I get better with time. If anyone knows how to make a bowie knife, an American officer sword, or native American bows, I would appreciate advice.

PWRBTTN suggested I use imgur to upload the images through my phone. Here goes test #1

New gravel, new obsidian, smooth greenstone, cherry metal

New gravel, new obsidian, smooth greenstone, cherry metal

Obsidian still looks too grainy and rough to me.

As you can see, Obsidian is rather smooth, Shiny, And black.

The purple is fine, But there should be more black to make it look more like obsidian.

It should also look smoother, Maybe with some highlights as if it is reflecting light.

As for the cherry metal, It looks really uneven. Like maybe someone should take a hammer to it to try and flatten it out a bit.

I'll try to add some more black in, and ill use the smudge tool to make it look smoother.

As for cherry metal, ill try a different approach next time.

The only advice I can really provide you with, is to google what it is you want, and just draw one, or something extremely similar to it. On that note...

Okay. The texture pack has been coming along slower than I expected, so starting on Monday I am going to kick it into high gear. To start, here is the C4 and Dynamite textures. They are supposed to look like painted crates with labels stamped on the front board.

The goal is to complete all the blocks by march 10th. If I can at least have a working texture pack soon after that, I can probably test it out in Minecraft.

I took a trip over the weekend to Columbia, CA, and I have come back with pictures of the recreated Gold rush town there. I will be altering my wood quite a bit to reflect what I saw there. As well as patterning the polished stone bricks after a design that I didn't even know I needed

Your pics were a bit big for me to see. So I resized them.

Thanks. They were on most buildings, so I am going to try to add them to the texture pack. Also the planks in floors were longer, so I am going to make the planks in the texture longer. And most buildings had the wall planks vertical instead of horizontal, so I think wood veneer will be vertical planks.

Too much schoolwork has pushed back the date. I cannot put my full attention back on the texture pack until spring break.
