I know you guys are having a little fun with the unofficial "insert suggest position here" sigs.
But your walking the line of rule 11 & 12
Quote

11) If you are not a moderator, do not try to act like one

12) Do not ask to be a moderator, developer, staff member, tester, etc. Do not campaign to be one.
Should Bob feel the need for adding more site staff he will do so.

I know bob will if needed.
I could careless about being one. And if I wanted to campaign I would be.
I'm just having a little fun messing around. I make the List threads and game threads for easy access and discussion. Not to increase chances of becoming a Staff Member.

I understand Rule 12. But 11? I don't understand that. Who's acting like one :P
Welcome, come on inside...

Sorry Tom, I'll remove that thing in my Sig if you like. I'd much rather NOT be a moderator though.

They aren't really moderating anything.

Providing a resource that can be used to easily search through a number of different posts is anything but harmful. And, honestly, if I had spent that much time setting that all up I'd be proud of it too, and show it off to others via my profile sig.

I get that the whole "playing it off as if they are members of the staff" is uncool, but just as long as everything stays independent of attempting to usurp the forums I think its a great idea to have these kinds of posts updated and maintained by members of the community.

yes I have made one of these and it is time consuming but I thought I was helping out not acting as mod but it was fun making it decorated and looking good but if you're talking of fudged sign I don't get it but that's my opinion on the list is the time consuming but fun

You among others have interpreted my post wrong from its intention, I have told no one to stop doing anything or remove anything from there sig. What I said was that they are "walking the line" meaning they have not crossed the figative line and broke a rule , but the situation could go either way. It would take one member to join in the title sig game and not add the "unofficial" part and would be breaking the rule to ruin it for everyone.

OK, but if someone was to get in trouble, it should be me. Rejectz didn't do anything and it was me making the banners.  He's innocent.

I'd rather play it safe. I'll just end it. Is it possible to lock this topic? I don't want anyone getting in trouble.

I don't know. Maybe a few new positions would be nice. Some of these are a little wack, but meh. If you have ideas also, feel free to tag along.

Idea Manager: Someone who moderates the Ideas section, like reused ideas, so Devs and Testers can relax (unless you like doing that :p)

General Discuss. Manager: Someone who makes all the General Discussion topics, mainly for organization to have this position made.

Rejectz: For being Rejectz

Shout Box Moderator: Would act as bob's second pair of eyes and watch the shout box for anything bad going on.

  More to come ⊙ω⊙
Criticism always welcome!

Ideas manager- Testers don't have anything to do with moderating the forums. Testers are only a different group as we have testing sections that regular members don't have access to

General manager- I have 2 of them already. Fergie and Tom. Unless one of them decides they need to step down, I don't need any more. We don't have any particular sections that are just so overwhelmingly more used than the other sections that we would need sectional moderators.

Shoutbox Mod- See above

The way positions work here are unless there's an actual need for someone to be in a different group, there just isn't going to be one. There must be a job that needs filling, and then pick a person to fill that need. Not the other way around. I picked Fergie and Tommy because they were the 2 that fit the needs, and right now there just aren't any other big needs that need filling.

I get that everyone wants to be a moderator or a member with a different colored name from everyone else, but the thing people don't understand is that being a moderator is not designed to make people feel special or to be a prize. It's work, and work by definition is not fun. The only prize group is MotM, and that isn't going to be changing anytime soon.
