Admin permission to topics?
« on: July 20, 2013, 01:52:29 PM »
Not to sure if this possible but i think it would help out a lot. Anyways basically when you create a topic you can set an admin to the topic. The admin would be able to edit the original post and remove peoples reply's that are unfriendly and or unnecessary. So...What do you think?

I can see some people taking to much advantage of some of these features, I personally don't like the idea.

Not admins for the forums.... I mean the Original person who started the topic would be able a assign an admin to help "Monitor" their topic.

Way too easily abused. This is the same site that can't even handle the ability to use rep without being obnoxious after all ;)

True, but I still think that it could be useful by the more mature members. What if there was maybe a group that could do this?

There is. It's called "Moderator". This rare breed is slightly lighter than Bob and can only edit a few topics.

Seems like it's only purpose would be to censor opinions that the OP doesn't like since any posts that are actually inappropriate can simply be reported and will be removed.

Agreed I see no use as you could remove any negative comments to make your idea look awesome when there are issues that people have brought up about it that make the idea look less desirable.  If you are going to defend your ideas make a conter argument not bashing but explain the concepts and uses of the idea to better improve it chances rather than thinking you need to remove any negative comments as they may have reasons why they have been posted.

Why do we need temporary admins when we have two full time moderators whom are the best around. Lol
