The scripts were changed by the most recent update, some don't work how they are supposed to and makes some of the games impossible as well as some other intricate things different than what they are meant to be...

I don't plan to make a new map as I don't have XBLG nor plan to have it any time soon

A lot of the scripts have been ruined by the new update. Without XBLG I see no reason to even try remaking anything. Thanks to al who have played and gave their support!

OP updated!

Been a while since I've been able to say that and mean any actual progress has been made on the map. So glad for all the people that have given me a lot of positive feedback on the map and thanks to Mysterio for dropping by and recording it! <3

I don't have gold, so I can't join your world and help, but I am really good with scripts (my mini game world I used to host has a avocadoe ton of scripting, it's not even funny) and I wouldn't mind helping through messages of some sort. Message me on Xbox (gamertag is same as forum name) and I'll see if we have a different platform we can talk on a little easier

Well the plan is I'm getting a summer job but I'm not sure I'm gonna be spending the money I make on video games (that's even if I do land a job, which isn't even that likely anyway since I'm a high school student with no outstanding job qualifications)

But it's good to see at least someone misses this world haha

OP updated

It's been a while, and I still don't have XBLG, but I've decided to start working on this map once again in the hopes that either a friend gives me some XBLG again, or a wonderful member of the forums donates me a few months... Neither of which are likely, but I enjoy working on this map nonetheless.

Thanks again for everyone's support! <3

No one thinks this would be useful?

But I don't think the 1,000 Scripts, 250 + buildings and zones are really helping on Baystone.
It depends how many scripts are executing at the same time and what they're doing. Even if you had 5,000 scripts, they wouldn't cause any lag if they're not executing. Also zones shouldn't be causing any lag. We have a test map with a couple hundred zones and several hundred map markers, and they're not causing any lag.

Also lag is too general a word. There are different types of lag. There is draw/render lag (lower than 60fps but not jerky/random). There is general CPU lag, lower frame rate, usually causing an incosistent chop. There is network lag where anything based on networking can take a while to update, etc. So just saying something is laggy is not specific enough.

On the topic of lag and what causes it, would scripts that add history to a player cause lag if there were a lot running individually? I feel like this is a self explanatory question but something that doesn't have to render shouldn't cause lag should it? I get a lot of (I guess it would be server lag? I'm not familiar with the specifics of different kinds) lag in the sense that it takes longer to press buttons, use switches, or other commands to execute fully.

This all only starts when people start to play Gel Clicker on my map. Which has a few different scripts that continuously add history to yourself every second and you can have multiple of each allowing them to stack

Ideas / More Specific Permissions Sub Groups
« on: February 08, 2016, 06:22:21 PM »
Before I get into the super specifics on this, here is an example of why it is helpful: Let's say I have a server that people like to frequent a lot. People talk a lot and do a lot of things on it. It just so happens that someone starts spamming chat, or getting in other players ways somehow... What if the only people I trust enough to have ADMIN permission are busy? Or Offline? Or Im afk?

I think there should be other subgroups.
For example:
Moderator - Allows the player to take away other player's chat priviledges (voice and text) as well as spectating permissions (without all of the other Admin Perms or ability to change their own permissions) Green nameplate?
Builder - Has the ability to place and use creative tools in all zones, regardless of edit permissions. As well as copy, paste, and save components permissions (Of course, without any of the extra things an admin can do) Orange nameplate?
Spectator - Can only spectate other players (Useful for games where people only get one life, if you want them to still be able to see the action without joining it) hud is removed and disables the ability to take damage, or swing fists. Allows for noclip and teleporting and spectate. Grey nameplate?
Co-Owner - As it is very common for servers to be ran by two friends, I think this is amply necissary. Co-Owner has everything owner has (plus the blue nameplate) and is able to change the permissions of admins as well as kick them with scripts.
Banned - Giving a player this permission will kick them from the game and keep them from joining in the future (only accessable by owners, co-owners and admins)

I think that is all, thoughts?
I am sure there are other people who feel the same way about the permissions,  it's basically all or nothing right now if you want a helping hand around your world.

OP Updated.

It seems that a lot of people are joining and leaving immidiately after. Is this some kind of glitch or something? I'm not sure. Anyone can shed some light on that?

Hello everyone! After an incredibly long hiatus, I decided to host my map for a bit to see if anyone would join... Just so happens that Jeff McNewman did and it inspired me to continue working on it, especially ocnsidering his amazing feedback!

Expect this to be hosted more often and updated more frequently!
