From past experience, I've seen that you don't really need over 8GB unless you're doing gaming/rendering/video capture.

If you don't want an integrated graphics card, and you don't plan on using the PC for much gaming, maybe take a look at the GeForce GT 730 or the Radeon R7 240. I'm not very great with graphics cards though. Try comparing the performances of different ones with  site like http://www.futuremark.com/.

Head over to http://www.newegg.com to check up on some of the latest hardware. They have some really great deals. Again, I'm not super great with hardware (I'm more of a software kind of guy), so I'd check with some other people before taking my advice  ;)

EDIT: I forgot to add - it would be more helpful if you post your budget and what you WOULD be running on the PC.

I like and dislike modding. If you're modding singleplayer maps/unlockables just to screw around by yourself, that's fine (in my opinion). I like to just poke around in files and test out the security of games. If you're modding skills though, that's pretty crappy. In fact, if you mod anything that goes on a scoreboard that's crappy. But people need to learn that modding is not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes it can bring huge bugs/security issues to the developer's attention.

Good modding = doing it for fun/research/knowledge.
Bad modding = doing it to show off, top the leaderboards, or make people mad.

Of course this is all just my opinion, however.

Well if there were modders, you'd know for sure if there was no level cap. Bunch of level 99999999999999999999's running around saying, "Oh, this is all legit BRUH!"
Probably not quite that high. The maximum value of an int32 is 2,147,483,647, and int16's go up to only 32,767. But still, that'd be ridiculous.

I think this topic was posted way to early, we have no idea how long until PC version, should be locked for the now and unlocked nearer PC launch.
It looks like they're aiming for a release at the 2nd quarter of 2015 (April - June), according the the Steam Greenlight page. However I agree this was posted a bit too early, we don't know yet if the game will ship with the modding API, or if it will be added in sometime later on.

There was a program released recently that allows you to modify unlockables, skill levels, and in-game inventory.

Hey there, folks. I've been seeing some of these threads lately with people showing off their games that they've been developing, and I thought I might tell you a bit about mine.

Arcade Tycoon is planned to be a strategy sim game in which you get to start and manage your very own arcade. It's planned to have features such as custom payouts, machine/game customization, and random events (such as blackouts that cause your arcade to lose profit).

TL;DR

Type: Strategy/sim.
Platforms: PC.

Just a couple of tips/pointers.

  • If you plan on developing for all those platforms, it'll cost a few thousand dollars (as it appears you're using Unity3D).
  • Have fun with your game, especially if this is your first. Don't rush it.
