Total Miner Discussion / [Game] Re: Make total miner open source
« on: April 02, 2019, 05:10:25 PM »
I've had so many memories with this game. I was sad to see the update Craig had posted. Hopefully all works out well with making the game open source. Would love to be apart of TM: Reforged or whatever it ends up being called.

City, steampunk, and fantasy/medieval maps were by far my favorite maps to explore when I used to play on 360. I can't wait to see amazing builds like these on PC multiplayer once it comes out!

Total Miner Discussion / Re: Total Miner Memories..

I think with TM PC coming out tomorrow this topic needs to be revived!

Think about it.. the memories made, friends made, worlds made alone or w/ friends or even community worlds! The countless challenge maps that everyone makes, the test worlds you used to make some of your greatest builds or ideas, that survival or creative world.., or even going on that skin grind with life invaders or mining out an entire mountain with a wooden pickax just to get caveman. We all have a memory tied to TM so why not share it!

With that said... one of my memories happened within the first couple months of me playing the game. I had just figured out how to create a flat world made up of a type of block and I also figured out how to use marker blocks. Keep in mind this was before turret blocks and HD texture pack. Me and a group of friends just started going at this world. Using grenade launchers to make huge caves and blow up what each other had made.

I personally love the idea of having prices jacked up and more work effort needed to obtain end game gear, weapons, etc. But for me it's what makes TM different from Minecraft. I remember some of the many exploits for the economic system both loving them because they helped a lot but also hating them because it made the game go by much faster. In the end, however, it all comes down to personal actions. If a player doesn't want to deal with the exploit breaking the experience then they don't have to do it, put simply, the player makes the choice of going that path.

I'm also going to do a throwback and make a challenge map like I did almost every time I played TM on 360... it should be fun hopefully.

I'll have three main worlds if I stick to my plan. A creative, creative testing, and a survival. Using the creative test as a world for planning buildings and such for my survival world. Hash out materials, etc.

Hey everyone, recently my friend created his own game and put it up on Steam Greenlight. He's been getting support from so many people and he asked me to help spread the news. So anyone who enjoys platform games such as Super Meat Boy then please take a moment to vote yes on this project. Even if you don't enjoy those types of games then please consider hitting yes either way because every game deserves a chance. Thank you for your time.

+ 125 levels.
+ Tons of tricky puzzles.
+ Beautiful visuals and music.
+ A full 6-track OST composed by Gabriel Hawk.
+ Super Meat Boy-like controls.
+ A love story that is sure to give you the feels.
