Questions and Answers / TM PC Controls

I was wondering what the TMPC controls will be? Arrow keys, WASD?

It'd be nice to know so that we could get used to the keys. Also, is there a way to change the controls? So, we'd be able to make up U or something, lol.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this so if it's suppose to be in the PC modding thread, please move this over.

I've noticed that with modding XML files, you would have to download the file and drag it into the TM file. Would this work with maps? For example, I made an awesome map and posted a download link. Could you then download the map and drag it into say a 'worlds' folder or something. This would then allow you to play the map.

Is that gonna be possible? I know there's the share map option but it'd be a little annoying having to stop hosting just to share the map for one person.. :P

I've recently got into making games and would consider myself a decent dev. Obviously I couldn't make massive games such as TM but I can make small, fun games.

my question to you all is what games would you like to see?

I'm a small indie dev, so don't make things over complicated.

I'll put all reasonable game suggestions into a poll soon and I'll try and make the chosen game.

I'm making a game at the moment called a Impossiball. Reason for the name is because it's a puzzle game involving a ball which is next to impossible to solve. It's  currently in 0.2.5 Beta, with only five levels. As it's such a small game I don't imagine it to have more than 20 levels.

Prefixes - '[Liked]'

A Brief Explanation

I'd like to ask for a new prefix to be added to the 'prefix table' in all boards using prefixes. The prefix would be called '[Liked]' or something similar and when filtered it would show only the threads that the user has liked. This filter wouldn't count a like as the user liking the OP, they must like the actual thread.

This would be useful because, generally, if you like a thread, it means that you like that thread, map and/or layout. It'd then be easy to link to your favourite threads whenever needed instead of scrolling through useless posts in the watch bar to actually find the thread that you'd like to link.

Myself and other active members would find this useful because topics always get lost in the flow of other less useful topics. With this small addition, we'd be able to see threads without having to scroll back (x) amount of pages or (x) amount of search results -which is usually a few due to members talking about their maps or referring to them in other threads.

Bug Reports [Retail] / Dig Deep Rare Items

I recently started a new Dig Deep map (after the last update). I have found a rare item in a spiders chest but the texture is a padlock. You can put this item in your inventory and it will display the actual texture but if you place it in a chest it will go back to the padlock (any chest). You also can't sell the item as it isn't in the shops. To resolve this the player will have to throw the rate item onto the floor and pick it up like that, I haven't tried pressing Y.

Hope this can be fixed for PC..

Automatic Private Mines
What are private mines?

Private mines are generally used in death matches and are used for players to mine in a room that they have brought. Private mines generally house blocks worth more money than normal mine blocks.

Is there a way to set default text so that every time I post or create a topic, the default text is there when i click "create new thread /post " ? I have looked through all of my profile settings a few times. Each time, I had no such luck of finding what I wanted.

Is it possible?

As we are all aware (hopefully), the clocks have gone back by an hour. This means that what is normally 7:30 is now 6:30. The clock at the top of the forum hasb't updated, however which isn't very reliable or professional.

This is an easy fix, so I hope to see this rectified soon :) .

Phone Services Script

How does this work?

Basically, you buy the phone from a shop or something and then swing it. Once it's swung it comes up with a keypad, and you punch the number in.

You could make a menu easily using HUD's for easy access to phone numbers, or just use a book :D .

That's it really. Not a godly script tbh, I only posted it because I haven't seen it done before and would be nice in some RPG maps. I believe Casual Onion will be implementing his own phone call script into his map Huttondale. Can't wait to see it!

Also, it'd be nice to see this use in some DeathMatches. I know i'd use it!

Last note, I wrote this all off the top of my head. Sorry in advance for any scripting errors.

Bug Reports [Retail] / Cover Blocks on Multi-Texture blocks

I noticed that if you put a cover block ontop of the multi-texture block (whilst textured) the cover block only displays the default texture for the block. Nothing else :/ .

I'd like to see this fixed for PC as the multi-texture block takes up alot of my map! XD

Pretty self explanatory tbh XD I won't waste time explaining it.

A couple rules :

1) To keep this thread fun, please don't use a translator.
2) Don't use the same language as above you.
3) Any languages are supported. Even ones not spoken. (This excludes made up languages that only a handful of people know.)

Ideas / Load screen

A neat addition would be to be able to take a picture with a camera and set it as a picture for the load screen for when a player joins your map.

It'd be useful for the players because they'd have a good view of what's going on so that you're not totally clueless when you join the map,

Another near addition would be to take pictures with the camera and set them as the loadscreen for the whole game.

You can then invite your friends round and say "that's my best map... And thats that..." Etc.. Instead of loading, and quiting worlds just to show builds.
