Been watching the show 24 :O! ^_^

I have watched the first 2 seasons so far and am on the 3rd now.

24 follows federal agent Jack bower as he hunts bad guys and saves team amaerica all in the span of 24 hours. Each season is a block of 24 hours, and each episode is 1 hour of that 24 hour block. I believe they do an amazing job with the shots and time giving that it leaves room for commercials.

The first season is about a traitor working for the government and Jack trying to find them out and root them out.

The 2nd season picks up about a year where the last went off and has the vast majority of the same characters. It follows jack again as he hunts a terrorist cell bent on using a nuke in LA :O!

the 3rd season has Jack again (along with an assortment of known characters) trying to stop a Mexican cartel from releasing a deadly virus, the cartel wants there boss back and jack has to fight to keep him in jail :O! Am having a blast so far ^_^!

You may like it too ^_^

Hihi all ^_^

I am sorry for my sudden abstinence over 5 years ago. Things happened beyond my control and I was forced to leave. However today I can finally come back and explain my abstinence, or at lest part of it. You see there are 2 reasons I was gone, one I can explain, the other will have to wait as I am not aloud yet to talk about it.

Anywho to not make this a novel I will try to keep it short and to the point. Long ago something bad happened to me on the forums, to a normal person it would be "life sucks get over it" but sadly I am no where near normal. I have a lot of mental problems that I was unaware of and this event triggered them (note the event is not the 2nd reason I can not talk about yet). With this I quickly spiraled out of control and went down a dark hole that seemed to never end.

To say I stopped functioning normally is an understatement, I was barley alive. Many many suicide attempts and many many extended hospital stays for years was the normal for me. I could barley take care of my self, it was mostly nurses that kept me alive. Trough this time I was on a number of meds and different treatments. Nothing seemed to work and things seemed at an end for me.

Luckily thou one day things just fell into place, and I was somewhat able to get things together. Mind you I am still no where near a functioning adult, but I was also not a complete defenseless kitten any more. I am on a more stable group of meds now. I also regularly see doctors and therapists to help with things. I am also very blessed to have a loving family that has been with me the whole way.

Along the way I learned about some of my quirks. Apparently I have (forgive me I do not know the exact terminology) extreme depression, crippling anxiety, super schizophrenia, some forum of autism, and some kinda learning disorder (explains why school was so damn hard), memory issues and a couple other things I am not getting into now. I'm on meds for the depression anxiety and schizophrenia. I was on even more meds at one point for the schizo, but my liver somethings were to high or something and they had to take me off some. I keep begging them to up my depression meds......but they are reluctant to because of my liver tests or something.

Anywho as of today things are not going well for me, yea I am on meds for most of my problems (at lest the ones there are meds for), but they come with serious side effects. Some of witch are having to consistently be careful of what I eat because weight gain is a serious issue from some of the meds, I can never drink alcohol, I sleep for most of the day, I get dizzy and light headed a lot, my teeth and jaw hurt NONSTOP from the schizo meds, I was on meds for the side effects of the shcizo meds, but that dang liver.....and a couple other problems. I've also been declared permanently disabled by the US gov because I will never be able to work. Hell I do not think I can ever live on my own because I simply can not take care of my self, I struggle to do basic things like brush my teeth and shower, not because I do not want to, but because it is simply a struggle.

What brought me back here is that quad somehow tracked me down and got me to open up again. From there I am always being told to go do stuff I love because it will help with the depression. So I knew the happiest times of my life were when I was here with all my friends. So I wanted to come back and relive some of that. I could not even find the site at first because it simply does not who up in a search. Then I somehow found a reddit about the game and from there was contacted by Mecha about the site and the discord.

I am deeply sadden to see Craig lost his drive to do the game. I wish him nothing but the best and want to thank him for giving me the best years of my life. I am not surprised at all that almost no one is here. I am gonna try the discord for the game soon to see if people are still around, but I wanted to get this out here first so I do not need to explain it all in chat.

As a side note because I am on disability now and the pay is a ****ing joke, I do not have regular access to a computer. When I do have access it is generally for limited times. So even thou I am back do not expect to see me on all the time, but I will be on when I can.

I hope to see and talk to you all soon,
With love,
Agykoo ^_^! (hugs!)

General Discussion / Happy Saint Patrick day ^_^

I swore I had a thread for this already last year but search shows nothing..........

anywho!

Happy Saint Patrick day ^_^

"St. Patrick of Ireland is one of the world's most popular saints.

Apostle of Ireland, born at Kilpatrick, near Dumbarton, in Scotland, in the year 387; died at Saul, Downpatrick, Ireland, 17 March, 461.

Along with St. Nicholas and St. Valentine, the secular world shares our love of these saints. This is also a day when everyone's Irish.

There are many legends and stories of St. Patrick, but this is his story.

Patrick was born around 385 in Scotland, probably Kilpatrick. His parents were Calpurnius and Conchessa, who were Romans living in Britian in charge of the colonies.

As a boy of fourteen or so, he was captured during a raiding party and taken to Ireland as a slave to herd and tend sheep. Ireland at this time was a land of Druids and pagans. He learned the language and practices of the people who held him.

During his captivity, he turned to God in prayer. He wrote

"The love of God and his fear grew in me more and more, as did the faith, and my soul was rosed, so that, in a single day, I have said as many as a hundred prayers and in the night, nearly the same." "I prayed in the woods and on the mountain, even before dawn. I felt no hurt from the snow or ice or rain."

Patrick's captivity lasted until he was twenty, when he escaped after having a dream from God in which he was told to leave Ireland by going to the coast. There he found some sailors who took him back to Britian, where he reunited with his family.

He had another dream in which the people of Ireland were calling out to him "We beg you, holy youth, to come and walk among us once more."

He began his studies for the priesthood. He was ordained by St. Germanus, the Bishop of Auxerre, whom he had studied under for years.

Later, Patrick was ordained a bishop, and was sent to take the Gospel to Ireland. He arrived in Ireland March 25, 433, at Slane. One legend says that he met a chieftain of one of the tribes, who tried to kill Patrick. Patrick converted Dichu (the chieftain) after he was unable to move his arm until he became friendly to Patrick.

Patrick began preaching the Gospel throughout Ireland, converting many. He and his disciples preached and converted thousands and began building churches all over the country. Kings, their families, and entire kingdoms converted to Christianity when hearing Patrick's message.

Patrick by now had many disciples, among them Beningnus, Auxilius, Iserninus, and Fiaac, (all later canonized as well).

Patrick preached and converted all of Ireland for 40 years. He worked many miracles and wrote of his love for God in Confessions. After years of living in poverty, traveling and enduring much suffering he died March 17, 461.

He died at Saul, where he had built the first church.
Why a shamrock?
Patrick used the shamrock to explain the Trinity, and has been associated with him and the Irish since that time.
In His Footsteps:
Patrick was a humble, pious, gentle man, whose love and total devotion to and trust in God should be a shining example to each of us. He feared nothing, not even death, so complete was his trust in God, and of the importance of his mission."

General Discussion / PC Questions da agy asks! ^_^
« on: February 11, 2015, 10:39:54 AM »
Hello, looking to upgrade an old pc to a new one.

This wont be my personal pc. But I would like it to be nice'ish still.

Some things:

Its not going to be a gaming pc.
So what level of processor do I need? I-5?

Do not need to do video rendering, nor any video capture of games.

Amount of ram?
Again its not a gaming pc, but its going to be running a bunch of programs. My personal experiences have shown 12g to be a joke any more. Should I go for 16g?

Graphics card?
While not a gaming PC, I personally dislike integrated graphics cards.
Would it be worth it still to get a graphics card? If so what navida one would I look at? (no hate please, I never have had an issue with navida and love it).

Custom built?
Just looking around checked dell out. They are worse then I remember. lot more expensive, and a heck of a lot less customization.
I am confident in my Lego I mean um computer building skills. As I have built my own last 2 personal computers.
Do you think it would be a much better idea to simply get the parts my self? I know for gaming it is, but what about a none gaming computer?

Windows 7 vs windows 8.1
Here's a fun one that's sure to cause trouble. While I know and trust windows 7. I have read they ended mainstream support for it already (evil microshaft). While I know that's not the end of the world, nor even a huge deal. But I also don't find windows 8.1 to be that bad (aside form having to finagal it to make certain games run).
Should I just go with windows 8.1?

Any thing I am missing?
Any new technology or neat things I am missing? Heard something about USB 3.0.
Stuff like that that I should be looking into or for?

Monitors
Does any one have a suggestion on monitors? A single screen is fine.

That's what I can think of off the top of my head.

Thank you ^_^

General Discussion / Merry Christmas! ^_^

Merry Christmas! ^_^

"The Birth of Jesus
Matthew 1-2, Luke 1-2

An Angel Visits Mary

The angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and said, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High."

One day about 2,000 years ago an angel named Gabriel appeared to a young Jewish woman named Mary. Gabriel told Mary she would have a son, Jesus, who would be the Son of God! Mary was confused and worried about this sudden news, but she had faith in God and said, "I am the Lord's servant; let it be as you say."

Journey to Bethlehem

Mary and her husband-to-be, Joseph, lived in a town called Nazareth. But they had to travel to the city of Bethlehem to register for a census ordered by the Roman emperor, Caesar Augustus. Both Nazareth and Bethlehem are in the country now called Israel. It is about 65 miles (105 km) from Nazareth to Bethlehem, and the trip probably took them several days.

When Joseph and Mary got to Bethlehem, there was no place for them to stay because the inn was already full. They ended up spending the night in a stable, a place where animals were kept. There was probably fresh hay on the floor that they used for beds.

That night, Jesus was born. There was no crib, so they laid baby Jesus in a manger, a feeding trough for animals. The manger probably had fresh hay in it and made a nice bed for the baby.

Shepherds Visit Jesus

Jesus was born in a stable and laid to sleep in a manger. The shepherds came to see firsthand the things the angel had told them.

That night, some shepherds were in the fields near Bethlehem, keeping watch over their flocks of sheep. An angel appeared to them and gave them the good news that a Savior, the Messiah, had been born. The angel told the shepherds they could find Jesus lying in a manger. Suddenly a whole group of angels appeared saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"
The shepherds hurried into Bethlehem and found Jesus in the manger, just as the angel had told them. After they had seen Jesus, they spread the news, and everyone who heard was in awe.

Wise Men Visit Jesus

Wise men from the East came to worship Jesus, bringing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Some time later, wise men, or magi, from eastern countries saw a star in the sky that signaled the birth of a new king. They came to Judea, the region around Jerusalem and Bethlehem, to worship Jesus, the new king.

A man named Herod was the king of Judea. He called the wise men to a meeting and told them to find the new king so he could go and worship him, too.

The wise men continued on to Bethlehem and followed the star until it was directly above the house where Jesus was. They found Mary and Jesus in the house and knelt down to worship Him. They brought Jesus gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh, some of the finest things in the ancient world. Frankincense was burned to make a sweet smell, and myrrh was an expensive perfume.

After visiting Jesus, the wise men had a dream that warned them not to go back to King Herod, so they took a different route home.

Journey to Egypt

King Herod lied when he told the wise men he wanted to worship Jesus. He was afraid this new "king" would replace him as king of Judea. He did not understand that Jesus would grow up to be king of God's spiritual kingdom, not king of Judea.

What Herod really wanted was to find Jesus and kill Him! Herod was furious when he realized the wise men had not come back to tell him where to find Jesus. He sent his soldiers to Bethlehem to kill all the children under two years old, thinking Jesus would certainly be one of the ones killed.

But God had told Joseph in a dream to flee to Egypt. Joseph took Mary and Jesus to live in Egypt where they would be safe from Herod. Joseph, Mary and Jesus stayed in Egypt until Herod had died, and then they returned to Nazareth.

Question

Was Jesus born on Christmas day? We celebrate Jesus' birth on Christmas, but no one really knows what day Jesus was born, or even exactly what year. In 336 A.D., the Western Church, based in Rome, chose December 25 to celebrate as Christmas, meaning "Christ's Mass." The Eastern Church chose January 6. The day was named Epiphany, meaning "appearance." Eventually the period from December 25 to January 6 became known as the Twelve Days of Christmas.

Lessons

The stories of Jesus' birth link to both the past and the future. The circumstances of Jesus' birth show He fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies of a Messiah (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23). He was born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2, Matthew 2:5-6). He was called out of Egypt (Hosea 11:1, Matthew 2:15).

Jesus was born in a stable - the most humble of circumstances. Similarly, Jesus showed us how God's favor rests with the poor and downtrodden. The Gentile wise men came to worship Jesus. Later, the Gentiles would make up most of the Christian world. Herod's attempt to kill Jesus foreshadows Jesus' crucifixion about 33 years later."

The day when christains the world over celebrate the birth of their lord and savior Jesus Christ.
Even if your not a christan there is no reason why you cant celebrate the joy of good will and happyness ^_^.

So Merry Christmas to all! ^_^
