If this is what you mean it just gets a random number between 0-2, and then gives a certain item for each number

Well, now I can't recreate it, it was happening yesterday, it like took some parts of the script and put a copy of them somewhere else and added new lines of random stuff from other parts of the script and rearranged it, it was a very big script (~70 lines) which might be the key factor.

Bug Reports [Retail] / External Script Editor Bug

I use Notepad++ as an external editor, and when I save the script inside of the Notepad++ "File" area, I exit Notepad++ and then go to Total Miner and press "Abort Edit" when I go back it does what I like, and updates it with all the edits I made inside of Notepad++, but when I press "Save and Exit" then when I go back to the script and open it in Notepad++, it's all jumbled up, I will provide a video of it happening soon.

Staff on garry's mod is basically next to nothing, from what I know, you probably just filled out an online forum application and got moderator on a server with maybe 100 players.

Is there anyway you or anyone who knows can make a video showing how to do the npc and item changing, just a quick overview to get to learn
There's two ways you could do it. If you read the modding API and go to items/npcs/whatever, you'll see how the start of each part of an xml includes some form of an ID tag. If you write in the id of something that already exists, you replace it, if you write in something new, it adds in a new thing. Simple.
I understand that, I can do that, but the NPC is what i really want to know, do i make a component in game then make the component the npc file or like how does that work.

EDIT: I understand now, turns out I was reading the documentation and didn't understand, we're good, I do have to make a component.

Technically you can do this, if you do some searching i have posted a very basic wireframe of this type of script, but if you would like I can show you a world with a fully functional and customizable one and you can see how they work, it takes about 30 scripts to make a basic one with customization options.
