Total Miner Discussion / [Game] Re: Make total miner open source
« on: March 31, 2019, 04:40:01 AM »
I do have to give credit to Craig. He has tried his best to keep working on the game. I have to respect the fact that the game is not going to be around much longer.
If it was open source, like Scp containment breach, it would allow for people to try their hand at making mods for it. Which could give me a chance to improve my C++ / C /C# skills. JS can only do me so much good.

Craig, if you are reading this, I am very proud of your service to us with your game. You have gave me the creativity and thousands of hours to create scripts of mass destruction and gun fights. You have made my friends rage and laugh. Have a good time and hit my head with the controllers at the same time. I am very upset with your decision, but I have to respect it. I understand that you have lost the drive. Iím sure you understand our point of view too. I hope that you continue down the road knowing that you made a difference in all of us. And my sore head too...

Think the dev team should make it fun and accessible to more players before going overboard, there's so many things from a game design standpoint that make Survival Mode and Dig Deep broken.
What makes you say that?

There is finite liquids, the only "infinity" you get from it is the shops, unless that was changed.
When I say finite, i mean like a single block will disperse over let say 13
3D finite water is extremely difficult.
Sure. But it would be an awesome thing to add.

There's an old MEGA or Mediafire link I've used/had and it had a trial version of before 1.8 if I remember correctly.
Is there maybe a link to it?

Yeah it would allow more maps to be built. To warn players you can just add a warning to the grief option.
There is a warning or at least was a warning players didn't read it. Anything with reading no one takes the time to read i know that with an amino i moderate. Online majority don't read not everyone but a lot of people are younger and care not to read but to just play the game. And yeah you could say it's on them.
It seems to me that many peole either can't read, won't read, or simply don't care anymore. Imagine what the future wil hold for us...

Ideas / Re: More immersion and realism in TM
« on: December 23, 2018, 07:21:26 PM »
TM has one of the most immersive gameplay but what more can be added to make you feel like your part of this world?

My ideas

-When looking down you can see your legs.
Possibly. Depends on difficult to implement it is.
-You have hands holding your weapons.
I disagree slightly. I think you shouldnt see hands when holding items, but you should see hands when not holding items.
Ditto.^

-Instead of swinging the sword or weapons at a fixed pace, you can mash as fast as you want for extra swing speed.
Would the swing speed increase damage? Im also unsure of how this would be different for those playing on a controller versus a mouse.
The only item I can see this working on is the sledgehammer, which only does 1 damage ironicly

-When it rains you can see rain drops go down your screen, to not get on peoples nerves it is subtle.
Interesting idea and i like it. But only if you;re actually in the rain, and not in a house or cave.
He is definitely on the right track, but I think it should only be when you are looking up.

Fall Damage Redone, this sounds complex explaining but heres my idea.

If your looking where you are jumping and its a far down place, damage is reduced because you know where you going to land and prepare for a hard fall. If you jumping carelessly and do not look where you are jumping you will take traditional fall damage.

I imagine this would take a lot to implement, and many wouldnt understand on how it works. I think for something this complicated the diminishing return isnt worth it.
I completely disagree. I dont think you shold be able to fall really far and have some kind of damage reduction.

-When dead you fall on your side and the screen fades to black.
Not bad, but still a fan of the classic spin in circles animation.
There sould be an option for that.
What do you think?
