Title: Steam ™

Steam is an internet-based digital distribution, digital rights management, multiplayer, and social networking platform developed by Valve Corporation. Steam provides the user with installation and automatic updating of games on multiple computers, and community features such as friends lists and groups, cloud saving, and in-game voice and chat functionality. The software provides a freely available application programming interface (API) called Steamworks, which developers can use to integrate many of Steam's functions, including networking and matchmaking, in-game achievements, micro-transactions, and support for user-created content through Steam Workshop, into their products.

Though initially developed for use on Microsoft Windows, versions for OS X and Linux operating systems, and a limited-function version for the PlayStation 3 console, have also been developed. Chatting and shopping applications for iOS and Android mobile devices have also been written. The Steam website also replicates much of the storefront and social network features of the stand-alone application. The success has led to the development of a line of Steam Machine microconsoles and personal computers meeting minimum specifications, and SteamOS, a Linux-based operating system built around the Steam client.

I noticed a lack of a Steam topic in general, mostly just Steam games, or Steam giveaways. I want to update this because  this inactive topic (http://totalminerforums.net/index.php?topic=2756.msg30188#msg30188) is too old to bring back to life. So, I will re-animate it here, in my own way. Here you can converse about ANY Steam related topics. Even share Steam user names to play with one another, etc. I hope this helps folks using Steam, and to better connect with each other.

II FerGie x (http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198062365381) is my Steam username, may need to search slightly different as some have had difficulty searching my name.

Games I likes playing are...

Damned (http://store.steampowered.com/app/251170/): Recently got out of Early Access, it's a fun game and can be scary. It's like Slender but multiplayer so you can play with friends which can be very fun. You need to get all the keys, find the right door for the key to unlock and escape. Thanks to Agy for giving me this game a while ago. *Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3!!!* :)

Dark Souls 2 (http://store.steampowered.com/app/236430/): Loved playing the first one on Xbox 360 when it was free with Games with Gold, so I had to get the 2nd one.

Garry's Mod (http://store.steampowered.com/app/4000/): If you have Steam and you don't know what Garry's Mod is, there's something wrong. ;) It's a fun game, got a wide range of gametypes you can play and great if you play with a bunch of friends with.

PayDay 2 (http://store.steampowered.com/app/218620/): This is a fun game, it's a four player co-op game where you're a master criminal causing crimes, what's not to like? Currently it's 75% off until 28th October so if the game interests you, now is the time to consider buying it.

Here's a list of all the games I have:

There's a much easier way using Gyazo. When you take the screenshot, hold click the left mouse button on the image and drag it to the top of your page so it's above the web address and tabs and you can stop holding the click. You'll get a new page which the web address will look like this http://i.gyazo.com/e36bae4e4d85fa5e8217304f4dd26a1d.png difference is the "i" before Gyazo and has .png at the end. This'll be Agy's list, this took me less than a minute and if I did it your way would've took me a lot longer.

Hey! You have Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition too?! O: I love that game series. Only the PC version though, I'm glad Steam supports it's multiplayer function. I used to have to go on Gamespy Arcade back in the day just to play it with others. :P

Hey Agy, which games do you normally play these days on Steam? I totally forgot to ask you that earlier today. :P

Hey Agy, which games do you normally play these days on Steam? I totally forgot to ask you that earlier today. :P

um before I got addicted to crack (aka dragons dogma). I was bouncing back and forth between tropica 4 exp, and dawn of war 2.

my issue is now they added achs to all the dawn of war 2 games...........so I may or may not play them froim the start again. and I want to finish tropica 4 exp at some point since I am half way threw it.

I also played some plague inc, but that got old fast sadly. good idea for a game, just brutaly repetitive. and one of those "strategy games" that aculty has a single way to beat every lv...........so theres no strategy.

also was playing fall out tactics a little too. triing to beat it with out cheats..........kill me XD I think I am on the 4th lv and I just stoped caring XD

um was playing the heck out of age of empires 2..........to the point I latterly have 5+ achs that only 1% of the player pop has.......including oine that latterly onl .5% has XD
was playing its exp, they cut the story scenses witch is why I played the game in the first place. but its not bad. just I beat I think more then half the exp storys and just got burtn out.

played don't starve a lot, but its a perma death game that's very unfair because of RNG. so I only play it sparingly. that and its also one of those games where if the stars don't aline your gona die (in this games case fidnign a spot that is near pig king, and near buffalo, and getting your camp ready before winter...........)
99% of new players die there first winter........because they underestamted hwo brutakl it is

played a lot of FTL, but that game is full of RNG kicking you when you are down, and also antother game where if the stars don't aline your not gona beat it

played game dev tycoon............was fun for an hour or so then it gets to complicated when you start adding staff.

was playing knights of pen and paper, but they scred up the store and now every thing takes forever to grind so I stoped playing.

I played left for dead 2 with amy once, was really cool to see the enhanced effects and graphics on pc, was a blast but you can only play it so much since its always the same lvs.

was playing rocs must die, but I got boared because I had already beaten it on 360

same thing for overlord as above.

papers please annys me to no end so I stoped playing.

was playing plants vs zombies for a little till I beat it and didn't feel like doing all the side quests.

refuse to p[lay postal any more after I noticed one of the achs is latterly "play this game on a mac" .............(*#*#*#*$*$%@*@)

prision arcahteck is fun, tho its easy to lose hours playing it, and its an early acces so theres no real reason to the game yet.

don't get me started on starbound.

stoped playing terriaia since the last update ruined tons of hours of time for my herb garden........

I need to play x-coms exp some day.

I stoped playing X3 reunion for now because after a month and tons of hours wasted doing tests with things like voltage testing and cooling and stress tests and what not the devs for the game couldent figure out what was causing my game to crash when things got busy in the game.
I think they last suggested uploading a file of my save for someone (yea someone not them, jerks) to test and see if it happens to them too. but that was insane because the crash happens any where form all of 5 mins, to many hours. ("agy many hours?" yea this is a kinda of game you leave running when you sleep or latterly nothing gets done). so I stoped playing for now. might go back and cheat m way to victory to see the story. since thertes no achs for the game any way. then move onto the other 3 x universe games I have XD ^_^

I rambled sorry. any who that's what I was upto on steam before I fell into the drug that was dragons dogma, and then also started playing destiny and alien iso XD ^_^

Holy. Crap, Agy. You are a gamer through & through. O_O Anyway, was curious if you played Champions Online at all? I have been on that when I don't play TM:F or Dragon's Dogma: DA. lol I may go back to Destiny, get more Light levels. (I am only at 22 currently) I just need to find more trustworthy people to play with, since I play on Xbox 360. No one I know has Destiny on 360. :/ But I was trying to get more involved in the Steam community, which is another reason I made this topic. ^-^ If anyone has any suggestions for me, by all means! I can be kind of picky with my games though. O: I am a choosy gamer. lol

Mmm good point, your library is INSANE as is. Well it's really fun, you basically make a super hero that helps out the city and it's an MMO game. Only downside is, you can't TRULY be a villain. But you can make an Arch Nemesis for your character to fight. Still getting the hang of it.

I never got to play that, I mean, I did the trial for a little while. But I never truly got into the game and played it. But I've always wanted to, I loved the Warcraft games prior to WoW. And WoW just seemed so awesome!

honsitly I was gona say yes.........but I had the snese to check the forums for it for the first time in many many months (close to a year). they just had there "get ready for the exp" patch. where basickly the game is changed around with the new core stuff for the next exp (so its latterly the new exp.......just with out the new areas or new lv cap).

there is latterly open revolt on there forums. theres so much bad going on. and no its not gona get changed because its core of the exp sadly.

things like they have put in a new anti farming thingy with exp. so now if you kill to many mobs in the same area it only gives you 10% of the orgignal exp............only problem is its not an area......its the whole map for the level.........
also people are running into it just playing the game normaly, for exp going out to kill X mobs for a quest and they are latterly running into it.
it seems to reset with time, so even if you leave the area it stays there for some time.

theres a new group find thing for raids that's suspied to bridge there "LFR (looking for raid, the lowest teir)" and reguelr raiding.
only issue is theres no rules what so ever and blizz has said they wiped there hands of loot rules issues.
so the raid leaders are changing loot rules during the raid so they latterly get all the gear of the 25 people in the raid, or threating to kick people unless they get RL money and such, its a mad house.

loot drops have been changed it looks like, where before when you ran a dungion, you were garntied a loot drop per boss (even tho (99% of the time it was gear you coudlent even use or not even for your class.........).
but now gear drops have been changed to ruffly 25% chance to get gear form a boss...........not even gear you can use but latterly any thing they can drop.

saw a cuple other issues too. like healing has been destroyed for lower lvs. tanking has become impossible for lower lvs. where before tansk could latterly pull half the dungion at low lvs if they had the hairloom gear (gear that can only be gotten at max lv and mailed to your alts, silyl powerful). now tanks are strugaling with single small groups and even just a single mob at a time, bosses are impossible and that's with hairloom gear, with out it I cant even emagin.

so yea I just ran screaming form there forums sadly. and I do mean sadly because it was a fine game.

So back to the Steam topic at hand, have you ever played the Icewind Dale series? :D I noticed you had Baldur's Gate: Enhanced edition, and I love that series to. I once had Tales Of The Sword Coast, Shadows Of Amn, and Throne Of Bhaal. LOVED the odd Wild Mage class for ToB. :D

It isn't fun at first, but there is that tipping point where you're finally having fun but learning more about the game still. my understanding was that the way the AI was set up that they only went to jobs near them and that was it, and that traffic was terrable.

i remmber seeing neat set ups to get it to work when it came out XD ^_^

This War of Mine is a new game on steam

looks very cool, it looks like it plays as a side scroller like dead light did. the diffrince is there no zombies or monsters, the only monsters are humans, including your self.

you start off with 3 random people, with verying abiltys. you can get more as you play and yes they can die. if they all die its game over.

your objective is to survive the war that's raging all around you. by fidning food and water, medicane and supplys. and also dodging/fighting bandits and the military.

there is a crafting system that you can make simple things like meals and simple tools, to more advance weapons.

the game is splti into night/day. during the day you take care of your home base, assign people jobs. make things and tend to your home.

the game comes alive at night. where your base can be attacked, and also you set out to scavange supplys and people.

it looked like the places you can scavange are randomly generated. but you can also go back to ones you have scanvaged since your not gona be able to take every thing at once.

like wise this game emfisices stealth. sure you can fight if you want to, and there is even guns. but a lot of the time you may be out numbered. and medicane is hard to come by. it makes more snese to lay traps for people and or run away.

enemys and allys both can move into places you have checked before in an evoling game.

I personaly have not played it yet, but I would like to save up to get it. it looks amazing ^_^

Edit: agy got it moved here because jack asked nicly ^_^!

not saying they will but d think that for the steam console they might do a cheaper version,and/or bring the price down like how they do for consoles, where the xb1 was 500 was 500.00 release, and now they bumped it down to 250 300

thats what i think might happen, but im not sure :P

i7 1TB machine. Granted 1 Terabyte is a lot of memory, it ain't worth over 700. Even with a NEW PS4 back when it came out, and an added 500gb external memory, it would only come up to $500. Which is still ridiculous, but still...gaming is too expensive for my blood. I think I might be done starting at this generation of consoles.

tbh you can buy a pc for 500 600 and get the same specs as what the steam consoles prob are or have
its prob more bcs of the branding/label or bcs its made special for steam, where a good pc can run any steam game anyways lol

tbh you can buy a pc for 500 600 and get the same specs as what the steam consoles prob are or have
its prob more bcs of the branding/label or bcs its made special for steam, where a good pc can run any steam game anyways lol

It's 110% because of the brand name. Alienware with Steam? Yeah, they know they have a brand on their side so they can jack the price up. But honestly, as cool as it would be to have a console that plays PC games, I think I'd prefer my own custom made PC. Cheaper, and FAR more powerful.

and like 1000 gbs to where at best buy you can get the exact same thing for like 400 500 lmao

Do not ever buy anything Alienware, they are a massive scam. You are much better off building your own PC.

The Steam Winter sale has some pretty solid deals. I believe there's five days left. If you haven't browsed the store, I encourage you guys to do so!

I guess I could also update the games I play often on steam:

AOE 2 HD Edition
Starbound
Rocket League
H1Z1
Magicite
Cards and Castles
Star Crusade CCG
Binding of Isaac Afterbirth

I have a lot more games, but not that I play often.

Keep hearing a lot about Starbound. Never cared enough to look it up, but a few of you are respected and trusted fellow players that I come to for good assessments on games. Since looking it up gives me the "facts" and not the true game play I seek...what do some of you think about it? In your own words and your own experiences. Just so I can get a better idea of it. :)

Pretty Grindy gameplay. Everything depends on you mining enough materials to get to the next tier, for armor.

The fun of it comes in the exploration, which is going to be your primary way to find novelty items (like decor) and weapons. The worlds are vast, and extremely exciting to explore. Plenty of dungeons, NPCs, and unique biomes.

Also some neat sci fi elements, like traveling between worlds and interacting with other races.

The Multiplayer Starter Pack gives you access to Public Ranked Multiplayer matches and features including Weapon Paint Shop, Gunsmith, Arena, Freerun, Theater, and the Black Market.

For the complete Call of Duty: Black Ops III experience, you will need to upgrade to the full version of the game. Below is a list of features not available in the Multiplayer Starter Pack.

Incorrect.

Play Call of Dutyฎ: Black Ops III
Play for free! Ends in 1 day and 17 hours

It means you can play it, as a demo, for 1 day and 17 hours. After that:

Buy Call of Duty: Black Ops III
WEEKEND DEAL! Offer ends February 29
-34%$59.99
$39.59

There is no "Free" version of the game. It's a deal and a free demo of it for one more day and 17 hours.

Hi Jimalane, what are you playing on steam these days?

Hello. I haven't been on Steam in a few weeks, simply because of school. I'm finishing off my final exams/coursework which has been taking up a lot of my time. Also I have a job which takes up some time.

I don't even get the chance to go on the computer we have in our house, as my dad is always on it.

I would save up for a computer for myself but I'm trying to save up for a car and pay for driving lessons as well.

I mainly only play my Xbox, simply because I have access to it whenever I want.

When I actually do go on steam, I've been playing Amnesia and Insergency, pretty good games.

Theres a game that if you havent seen on steam yet, you might not have steam at all, but its called Player Unknowns Battlegrounds (PUBG) and it is a realistic survival of the fittest shooter, you scavenge the map for loot and try to kill but not be killed, there is a play area that gets smaller every few minutes to keep the players in a more compact area as the game goes on, eventually it comes down to 2 or 3 people, sometimes more, in a tiny area and all withing an easy shooting distance, and it is very addictive, I really suggest getting it!

EDIT: theres also 100 people per game, so its pretty huge, making the map huge as well.

By default Steam only shows reviews in your language, I can see 2 Japanese negative reviews by disabling the default filters.
