Sorry but GTA V does not appeal to me... just GTA 4 with a slight ENB enhancement you can make GTA4 look nicer and gameplay... doubt it'll be different

GTA 4 isn't very fun in my opinion. The storyline just isn't good. The best GTA is probably San Andreas. I never finished it though because my brother broke it both times I had it. :(

GTA 5 looks horrible also. Maybe it's just me but it seems like they gave up...

Eh I have faith in this one, my favorite was San Andreas, I just hope that due to being set there it'll be as fun, if not more fun!

While I own all the GTA games, I also would have to say that it's not as appealing as I had hoped. Probably the biggest killer for me is no purchasing of real estate. This made San Andreas and Vice City for me, being able to stuff sick modded cars in the houses and gain perks from them.

Perhaps I'll get it when the price drops to like $20

EDIT: Well according to the reviews real-estate in fact can be bought. This was a sudden surprise after the last few ones I had heard....

I don't think I like the characters.

Michael is just not bad ass enough, seems kinda vulnerable mentally.

Franklin is just too stereotypical, and though I've always maintained I don't believe the GTA series would ever negatively affect society, in Franklin's case I'm not so sure (just a gut feeling).

Trevor is just too crazy, too random. I've never liked characters like that.

But you have to admit, the graphics look sick.

Never saw those previews before, they look okay, but this game will be pretty good. More or less going to explore the whole map before I even start the campaign. I'm more interested in watch dogs, looks better to me to be honest

The GTA online reveal is here! http://www.rockstargames.com/V/GTAOnline

The multiplayer isn't available til the 1st of October, two weeks after the game's release. Probably so they can see how many server's they'll need  :D
It's what Multi-Player was born to be.

Just heard that there's a nice feature in GTA V which is that when you're holding up a bank or something and pointing your gun at whoever's putting the money in the bag, if you shout down the mic they'll actually do it quicker :P.

Also the multiplayer has everything that I wanted in Red Dead Redemption's multiplayer so its looking good for me.

Does this require you to be in Game Chat?

Probably, but hopefully they improved the Game Chat so when anyone screams in the server, it doesn't cause the mic's connected to break. Hopefully people will use this to test if their eating their mic.

I'm not sure about the exact details, it could just be in single player but you never know. Also when online doing a bank heist or something the person who gets the money from whoever's behind the counter decides how its split. If they give you a bad deal you can set a vendetta against them so you can track them through lobbies and get revenge.

Yeah it was part of the PSN pre-download, some people were able to get into the audio files and some video clips so no Sony have removed it from pre-download

Copies of Grand Theft Auto V have been shipped to gamers this weekend, breaking Rockstar's September 17 street date.

The early copies were allegedly shipped by online retail giant Amazon, according to pictures of the game that have been posted online on Saturday.

It is not unusual for Amazon to ship games just ahead of their release dates to ensure their arrival on the release date itself. In this case, copies of GTA V appear to have turned up in customers' mailboxes four days early.

Rockstar has said it's investigating. "We are in the process of investigating early 'sales' to determine how and why that is occurring," the publisher told Games Industry.

Sony confirmed earlier today that pre-loading of the PS3 Grand Theft Auto 5 through the PlayStation Network has been delayed until September 16.

The delay follows the leak of GTA 5 details through a PlayStation Store error. In August gamers who pre-ordered the game via the EU PlayStation Store were apparently accidentally given access to files that revealed game details, which were inevitably posted online.

Rockstar has confirmed a US and European GTA 5 release date of September 17 on Xbox 360 and PS3. The game will launch in Japan on October 10.

Game is really good. Everything is better than the previous versions. I'm only at 10% so far but am really impressed.
An entirely new engine. imo better in every way.
..The cops are actually a bit of a challenge now too. It was always far too easy for me to evade even the Swat teams and army.. now its not.
The melee combat is much more fun.. actually feels like the characters have some weight.

Fortunately someone gifted me a new xbox on the 16th then i noticed this game was released the next day.. so i did a spot of midnight shopping. har.
Bit disappointed there is no multiplayer yet - but that is probably also a good thing because i never really played the single player story mode in GTA IV, i would always end up going in multiplayer free mode.

GTA IV missions were very much the same. Shoot this, drive here, pick between these two, shoot these. Annoying, and I never got any of how one thing happened to another (That is of course until I got BOTH Ballad of Gay Tony and The Lost and Damned. Not even then fully.)

I got this game today. Its a really well made game, browsing the internet on the cell phone was fun, and I can't really say the game is bad because you can tell they put alot of work into it and I'm sure I'll eventually get into it. But right now I just feel slow when I walk and run, I suck at the driving, and I can't seem to find a way to tell what my health is. I stopped playing today because Lamar kept yelling at me and calling me the N word, and would not shut up. My terrible driving made it even worse, and I dont know if I'll be able to stomach him enough to finish the game.

I can't seem to find a way to tell what my health is.

The health meter is the small bar directly beneath the minimap on the bottom left.

Anyhow, after now getting several hours into the game I can say it was definitely worth the wait.  It's a huge step up since GTA4. Glad to see a lot of the silliness has returned after the too serious 4. The vehicle handling has improved tenfold, the cars just feel right..and the sheer variety is amazing. I'm still hoping to come across a riding lawnmower because that was my favorite vehicle in San Andreas.

The storyline thus far is quite good, I wasn't sure about the 3 character mechanic initially but they pulled it off really well. And I'm fairly certain I want to be Trevor someday. He's my new hero.

The rumours are true. Grand Theft Auto Online has micro-transactions, and they’ll cost between £1.99 and £13.49. This will buy you individual packs of in-game money.

Eurogamer has spoken to people with early access to Grand Theft Auto Online, and has the details. There will be 4 GTA Online currency cards, with the following UK prices:

- $100,000 Red Shark Cash Card – £1.99
 - $200,000 Tiger Shark Cash Card – £3.49
 - $500,000 Bull Shark Cash Card – £6.99
 - $1,250,000 Great White Shark Cash Card – £13.49

With less than a week before the online modes go live, it seems unlikely that these details will change too severely.

The price of items will vary between the single-player game and Online. So a property that may cost several million in your own game will far cheaper in the Online mode. The most expensive property will set you back $400,000. Conversely, weapon and car mods will be more expensive online so that they’re out of reach when you first start playing.

So, buy spending your real world cash on in-game currency, a low-level player can get faster access to improved vehicles and weaponry.

We can expect full details about GTA Online to be confirmed by Rockstar very soon.

Well now it's a Pay to Win game. :( What you all think?

Also the Achievement:
Full Refund - GTA Online: Kill the thief that mugged you.
I really don't like that you can mug people out of real money if they choose to pay for these microtransactions.

didn't like the main game very much, but that's because I hated Franklin and Lamar so I just stopped playing after 3 missions of them. But the online seems more saints row-ish (full world to mess around in with your friends, missions to do with them and your own character that you even get to see in cut scenes), so it seems much more enjoyable. Plus you can have 16 players, 8 times that of saints row.

Same way,  :( Many people are going to probably buy the "Great White Shark" amount since it is very cheap in RL, but the most money in-game. Expect someone to buy all the properties, guns, cars, clothes, etc. on the first day of GTA online. Oh well, there choice to ruin the fun for them.

I heard that the 32 players rumour was fake, but Microtransactions is true.
To the older 360's, my Brother who has been playing GTA V has not had any problems from what I'm aware, and he is using an old 360.

The Install disc is just under 8GB (I believe it's 7.7GB), and the Play Disc is recommended not to be installed or you'll get performance issues.

micro transactions dont bother me much. The money is probably used to fund the development of patches, updates, and dlc.
this is a triple A company not a indie game. they have made enought money from the sales already to update it for the next 10,000 years ( yes i made it up but you get the point)

they probably had 1000 employees working on the game to pay, the cost of keeping the computers up and running, the electric bill for the offices they were working in(which I'm assuming is high because the computers need electricity to function), all the other people that worked at the office, pay off all the money they spent on advertising(how many GTA 5 commercials have you seen? They aren't cheap), and after you subtract all that you have the money left for updates and dlc. But I guess its just greedy of them to want money for putting all their time and effort into the game.... They should just be doing it as a charity and living in poverty because game programming is sooo easy...

Has been in development for five year and made all their money back on day one.
I bet by the end of the month it would of made ten fold development cost.

And to answer your question I have only seen two TV ads and nothing else.

Title: Re: GTA V

$157 million development cost is the most expensive game ever made. I should think that the  $1 billion maded in the first 3 day could pay for the wifi.

first three day, $1 billion made

I really don't think the DLC will cost 9 times more then the game to made and even if it did they would still be maxing huge profit.

It cost $265 million to develop it,

GTA V set not just a gaming record but also an entertainment record, reaching $1 billion in sales in just three days. In its first day the game sold 11 million units and generated $800 million. It is also no surprise that opening week sales were the biggest in gaming history, topping the annual bestselling franchise Call of Duty.

In its first five days Grand Theft Auto V sold 16 million units and generated $1.15 billion. 8.8 million units or 55 percent of the sales were for the Xbox 360, while the PlayStation 3 version sold 7.2 million units. Week one sales also exceeded the estimate of 15 million given the day before launch.

almost every video on YouTube has a grand theft auto 5 ad. They bought advertisements on the main screen of the Xbox home. Everytime I watch tv I see ads for it(might be because everything I watch is on the same channel, but still), and these advertisements have been running for a long time. Plus the average videogame programmer gets paid $94,000 a year(if I remember correctly, could be wrong). 94,000 a year for three years(how long the game was in development) is 282,000 per designer on average. Now lets say 1000 people worked on the game, that would be 282 million dollars in paying the designers alone. Then everyone else in the business needs to be paid.

development cost has been published so you can quit making it seem that it is a lot high then it is. The game was expensive to make. In fact the most expensive. But costs are covered for. $800 million on day one and how knows where now.

There is really no argument to be made to say that with out mirco transactions that they would not afford to patch the game.

And i don't see these adverts everywhere because maybe, just maybe not everybody lives in the same country as you.

I don't see the complaint about paying... in all honesty as soon as online comes on people will play the game non stop to get the best things by the first week of release and would you still complain? (Probably) however as we can see this is optional choice for the lazy people but it doesn't ruin the game and won't really affect you if you don't use it.

Unless you join servers where everyone has bought every great weapon with the money and kills you or takes all the kills during missions. I will probably play mostly with a few of my friends unless no-one notices this.

However if people attained rank lets say 40 within a day which may/may not be possible and had got the money and experience along the way and they kill you, is it as bad as a rich kid wasting their money? If it does then you really need to realise that people who pay choose to do it where as people who choose to play day/night killing players and stealing their money are worse in my opinion

The reason I like it is because you can just live in this extremely detailed virtual city. You don't have to go around stealing, killing, etc. It's awesome fun just to walk and drive around and look at what's happening around you, and do some activities. There's plenty of non crime related activities to do. It's an extraordinary technical masterpiece, just for this simple reason.

did you like saints rows 2? Just take that game, replace the over the top humor with realism, make the world more detailed, and replace your protagonist with three semi-likable(I know its argueable but I dont like them very much) people. Imo the game sacrifices fun for realism in a few too many places, but overall its a good experience

Rockstar has announced it's giving GTA Online players half a million GTA$ as compensation for multiple launch issues.

The cash will be given to anyone who's played Grand Theft Auto Online during the month of October, and will be delivered in two deposits of $250,000 each in order to avoid destabilising the in-game economy.

I don't know when they'll be giving the money out, but all I know is that most people will have the $400,000 apartment. :P

Adder is the Bugatti Veyron. Fastest car in game. I like hoiw it looks in real life better though. I have both the cars I wanted on GTA Online already. The Pegassi Vacca, which is a mix of a Lamborghini Gallardo's front and sides with the Lamborghini Aventador's back, and the Obey 9F Cabrio, which is an Audi R8 Spyder in real life.

I think most, if not all of the 10 car garages are the same exact house lol.

Only difference is the views. The higher the price the better the view. I have the $205,000 apartment and my friend has the $400,000 apartment. His view is amazing while mine isn't anything spectacular. They are the same exact house though on the inside.

Not online Liam you have to buy it. Almost no point in having it in single player either because it will most likely disappear from your garage. The Cabrio I had in single player was gone when I started the game a bit ago. Not in the impound either so I lost it.

It does, but my lower luck got me. It's on a 33% sale, and I can sleep through the download. But yes, YEAH, DOWNLOADING THE MOST ADVANCED CURRENT GEN. EVAR! My adrenaline rises 200% ever good game I must wait for, so it's very rare.

I don't find the game fun anymore, career was good as a pass time waiting for online and then when online came out I loved it as I saved up for my house, bought a vacca and thought I'd done great! my disc broke until say 4 days before Christmas but now I'm back on it I've heard all about these DNS mods and I see level 12s speeding past in koeniseggs and at least 1 stupidly high leveled person in every server, not to mention the fact that people are now in god mode, settings 2 billion dollar bounties and there's at least 1 tank rampager in each lobby who when you finally manage to kill goes and gets in another tank, the novelty has worn off and heists aren't even out yet

Heh Heh, I'm one of the glitchers. I don't do that though, I just do what I want, since that's what I like to do, with my friends. R* should just reset everyone's levels, since every server is cheated, and low levels don't have much to lose. Some will suffer, but as a cheater, I think this should be done.

why should rockstar reset everyone's level? I dont understand your logic...wait, there isn't any behind an idea that dumb.... Take away all the level based weapons and upgrades I bought with hard earned money I grinded in races to get and all the hours I put in to level up... Because theres a few cheaters.... What a great way to make people stop playing your game...

and a few people will suffer...? You mean everyone who's not a cheater will suffer? Since cheaters can just use the same tricks they used before to level up, leaving legit players to suffer and have to grind to get back up?

After 5 minutes of dissapointment, I must ask,
How would YOU like to fix this?
I jump from server to server in Free Mode looking about, every one with at least 3 per. server of cheaters, which can easily pile with how many players there are who have bought the game. How would R* figure who is real and who is in hidden from sight? Or, would you like for them to stay away and let the destruction of these cheaters continue to rampage the city? That would be bad reputation, especially with 3, invincible, infinite power, players per. server. Sales go down. I'm not sure just how R* would locate the difference between the cheater and the overachiever/long-time play. If they don't, sliding sales including gravity. So,
How exactly do you think R* should handle it?

so you reset everyone, hackers hack themselves back up... And what was the point of doing it in the first place? Imagine if borderlands decided to wipe all of everyone's guns because they don't like a few people using modded weapons? Or Craig making everyone re-earn all their skins because a few people were modding skins? Punishing most because of a few is just a bad idea

Because most people have cheated. The newbs won't be too effected since they would be low leveled and the overachievers will continue to overachieve. The cheaters, however, will be suffering because they must restart from scratch, not having all there precious cheated items. Now again,

explain how "most people" have cheated? I'm sure in every game there might be one or two, but I doubt its a majority of the people who play. I haven't yet even gotten in a game with a hacker yet. But you didn't explain how it would stop cheaters from cheating again. I do not know the resources rockstar has, but if I were them id put in an option to report a player. And put out a message saying that they are trying to weed out cheaters, in the same way they talk about "news" with the game. If someone gets flagged as a cheater(maybe 10, 15 reports), rockstar records their next few game sessions. Someone would have to watch the recordings though which is why it would depend on they're resources and how many employees they have. If someone is caught cheating they are restricted to private sessions only and reset to level 1(or at least reset and put in "very bad sport" lobbies, with only other cheaters

and hackers can probably be found easily in the coding. When someone takes 5000% the damage they should be able to and doesn't die from it, they should be flagged as a hacker. When someone does over a certain amount of damage in one shot to the point where the only explanation on why it happened was a mod of some kind, they get flagged too. When someone is off the ground without a vehicle for long enough(fly mod), they should get flagged as well. Of course someone would have to check before punishing these "hackers" because it could always have occurred from a glitch, but if they devoted even a few people to this it would greatly help stop modders and cheaters

same, I worked hard to get my apartment, my bike, all its upgrades, and now I'm just enjoying the game by doing my own thing. Once I hit level 50 I just didn't care about anything besides having fun. If I got reset and had to restart, I would get rid of the game, or throw it out the window and never bother with a rockstar game again. I know plenty of people who would do the same. Do you remember how pissed people got when their cars and characters were being deleted? Well imagine how it would go if rockstar purposely decided to delete everyone's progress

I agree with this, it would be the best solution. Another thing why they shouldn't reset everyone, micro-transactions, If I paid real money in the game to only get it taken away from me, they'd be stealing money basically as I didn't get what I paid for, that's why they wont reset everyone.

Another reason is because Hackers will just hack there way back up and will actually make it even more unfair for everyone else as they'd be lower levels.

I was an idiot!
After less then three hours of sleep, I have figured out instead of everyone, everyone above a certain level, say, 175 or 200, maybe 150 (No) I remember that almost every cheater is over these limits, since almost everything you do gives you about 1000000 RP everytime you do something in the modded server.

what's the highest level you unlock something at? Lets say you unlock the highest quality items at 120, then they just reset everyone above that rank to that rank and see who goes back up fast. And maybe the punishment for these guys is they should be put in their own lobbies so they only go up against people who have cheated as well, and can't play with friends.

The Valentine's Day Massacre is a content update for Grand Theft Auto V / Online, being the first of 2014 and the second major content update since the Beach Bum content pack. It will be available for free on Valentine's Day, the 14th of February as part of the 1.10 patch.
It includes multiple 1920's mob-styled content: A new weapon (the Gusenberg Sweeper), a new vehicle (the Albany Roosevelt), multiple vintage clothing, a Flapper Bob hairstyle for female characters, and 10 new jobs.

For those who don't go to the Rockstar website, here's some information about the new update coming soon
GTA Online: The Business Update Coming Next Week, Tuesday March 4th

Enjoy the perks of rising through the ranks of your Los Santos and Blaine County business ventures with The Business Update, coming next week on Tuesday March 4th to PSN and Xbox Live. Thrill-seekers and weekend warriors can hop in any of three all-new, blazing fast sports cars: the Albany Alpha, Dinka Jester and Grotti Turismo R... or take to the skies in the new Vestra airplane.

Take to the skies in the luxurious Vestra.

Swing by Ammu-Nation to pick up two new weapons, the Heavy Pistol and Special Carbine, which both offer some serious firepower.

Dress for success with formal and business casual attire options like new suit jackets, slacks, glasses, heels and blouses, or don new all-business hairstyles and currency themed tattoos. There's also a collection of new masks, perfect for disguising yourself during the next hostile takeover.

The Heavy Pistol and Special Carbine, two new weapons available as part of The Business Update.

Just like the recent Valentine's Day Massacre Special, the new vehicles and weapons will be available in both Story Mode and Online. In Story Mode, weapons will be deposited into all three characters' inventory with two full ammo-clips and all three cars are accessible from their garage properties. In GTA Online, you'll be able to purchase the new weapons and their attachments at any Ammu-Nation location while the vehicles will be available for purchase from Legendary Motorsport and Elitas.

The Turismo R and Alpha evading LSPD pursuit through downtown Los Santos.

Don't forget that this weekend is your last chance to grab the Albany Roosevelt limousine, the Gusenberg Sweeper machine gun and all the rest of the exclusive items from the Valentine's Day Massacre Special before they're gone. Once you purchase them in-game, they're yours to keep - but they will no longer be available to purchase after midnight PST this Sunday, March 2nd.

And stay tuned for details about our upcoming Business Update Event Weekend as well as more info to be revealed on future updates including Online Heists, the Capture Creator update, new Assassination and Flight School missions for Story Mode and much more...

Yup my stashed millions were still in my stash lol.

I heard only the money that was hacked was removed. Like those who got all their money from those lobbies where players were putting 10 mil bounties on eachother. If you got yours through selling cars or mission abuse you didn't lose it.

Much better than the Beach Bum Pack, included a decent amount of cars, masks, clothes and such. In terms of me playing it more, that doesn't affect it.

Quote from: Rockstar
Get ready for lots of exciting Grand Theft Auto Online updates to be added throughout the spring and beyond. Here's a brief rundown of some of the new content, features, and enhancements that you can expect to see barreling down the La Puerta Freeway in the months to come.

SPRING GAME UPDATES

Capture Creator: Coming next week, the Creator community will be able to make their own original customized Capture Jobs and add to the over 3.5 million (and counting) player-created Deathmatches and Races currently available on Social Club. Strategically place pick-ups, define weaponry, set location, and tweak tons of other variables to make your own unique Capture Job for others to take on. We will also be reviewing your homemade Capture creations to stamp standout experiences as Rockstar Verified.

The High Life Update: The High Life Update will allow you to expand your foothold in Los Santos with new high-end apartment options, the powerful Bullpup Rifle, new wardrobe items, the Dinka Thrust motorcycle and three new lavish cars to choose from, including the Super class Pegassi Zentorno. The High Life Update will also feature the debut of multi-property ownership in GTA Online, which means you'll be able to own two distinct properties (with garages) simultaneously. All this plus the new Mental State player statistic, which is designed to let you see just how passive or psychotically unhinged fellow players in your session really are, and a slew of new Jobs.

Heists: Coming this spring to Grand Theft Auto Online, team up with your most trusted Crew members or with random other mercenaries in Grand Theft Auto Online to pull off cooperative Heist Missions for glory and profit. We know many in the GTA Online community have been looking forward to this update — stay tuned for much more information to come.

And later this year, look for even more additions to both Grand Theft Auto Online and Grand Theft Auto V, including more holiday-themed updates, some very exciting Story Mode DLC and much more.

CONTINUING REFINEMENTS BASED ON YOUR FEEDBACK

Ever since the launch of GTA Online, we've been continuously monitoring how the community is playing the game as well as all player feedback sent to us at our GTAOnline@rockstargames.com address to see what you’re liking, disliking, and what should be addressed in upcoming GTA Online Title Updates.

A recent update addressed an issue that we saw with the way motorcycles and bikes handled while in the air. As it turned out, many members of the GTA stunting community were disappointed to discover that this fix made pulling off certain popular bike tricks and stunts virtually impossible, so we're going to be restoring the original in-air motorcycle/bike physics in an upcoming Title Update. In general, we are open to keeping unintended ‘glitches’ in the game if players enjoy them and they aren’t causing any negative impact to gameplay or fairness in any way.

There are many other ongoing improvements to expect as we continue to dedicate attention towards refining and ensuring the most fair and fun experience possible for everyone. In upcoming Title Updates and via dynamic tuning, you can expect:

• The addition of a 'Non-Contact' option for Races. This will allow you to play standard Races with collisions disabled between player vehicles. Other players will appear as semi-transparent and you'll still be able to collide with non-player traffic, structures and other scenery, but this mode - for those who want to play it - will eliminate the "rubbing is racing" mentality that some wish to avoid.
• Players will be able to call Lester and have him tell his cop buddies to turn a blind eye to any crime you may or may not be committing for a short period of time.
• As a reward for players who leave feedback on Jobs, there will be some bonus RP granted every time a player likes or dislikes content after playing it.
• GTA$ payouts will be increased when completing Parachute, Races, Deathmatches and LTS Jobs with less than 4 players.
• As part of our ongoing commitment to target cheaters and keep the game as fair as possible, we are closing RP exploits and will be adjusting the RP totals of players who we know for certain to have gained illegitimate RP by cheating. Your RP will only be adjusted if you participated in mods, hacks, DNS redirects, manipulation of cloud files, or other similarly nefarious behavior. If you grinded short legitimate missions or otherwise gained a small amount of RP without modding, your RP should not be affected by this correction.
• We’ll be fixing the issue where players who had upgraded personal vehicles prior to Title Update 1.10 were only able to sell them for $10,000.

These are just a few of the ongoing tweaks and enhancements in the works — and as mentioned above, we are interested in hearing what YOU want to see, so please hit us up and let us know what you'd like to see added to the world of Grand Theft Auto Online.

Fellow xboxers, this is a message for you all.
When the content creator came out, I took the liberty to find a large roof, and convert it into a battle royale.
I have carefully placed each and every spawn point and weapon in such a way that no matter where you spawn, you will be within viewing distance of a weapon and an opponent. When there are 16 players, it is the definition of a madhouse.
However, due to nobody ever joining when I send a mass-invite, I have decided to bring the offer here.
I will be hosting an instance of this deathmatch when it is fitting to everyone interested.
If you are interested in join, just pop a message my way, and I will add your name to the list.
Let's get this started, and let's go kill each other for 20 minutes.
It is mad.

But you have to admit, the graphics look sick.
trevor acts like 98.9%percent of people do when they're playing anyway :p

The online started off rocky, but after the recent updates..it just got worse. I feel like Rockstar is money hungry as crap with this game! I mean, the first night alone they made well over 1 billion dollars on the FIRST DAY of sales. Honestly...they don't need anymore money from us, the fans.

because they don't make money of heists... But they'll make $60 a piece of a remake. Right now I'm betting that heists will only come to the remake so they can have a selling point...

See, this is why I stopped being in crews and playing GTAO in general. I only play Story Mode now. Rockstar got crazy with this and is NOT living up to it's hype. I mean, yeah, at first it was fun. But they destroyed the online experience now! I am not spending a week and a half GRINDING piddly missions for a mere 1k. Not my idea of fun, unfortunately. :C I loved the game though, I just wish they would have held off on the Online before releasing what they have now. Maybe one day i'll play it again.

This is a Warning to "ALL" Grand Theft Auto 5 Players..
Rockstar is watching!
Microsoft is Banning!

I myself have proof
Proof (http://gyazo.com/2086345b991ee12ebd6cd85fa0a3e978.png)
for those who can see.. - 07/12/14

Banned for a lobby..

That is the proof that they're banning for two week periods with most!

So while joining these lobbies or posting in the forums please do it at your "own risk"

How do i avoid this when posting?

Very simply don't put your Gamertag like this JakeyGFX try this @JakeyGFX..
The reason behind this is that there auto system is detecting your GT and auto submitting it Adding a @ or and symbol or a space j akeygfx blocks the system from auto catching.

Avoiding in game bans!

When you are in a money lobby you have a 1/5 chance to avoid is simple when you get your money leave!
Do not stick around (ups your chances)
If you found this helpful post below!

Or you could simply avoid these sort of lobbies completely. If you don't mean to join the lobby to begin with, simply finding a new session can save you from this sort of thing.

I swear, if it wasn't for the fun storyline..I'd have sold this game. I wanted heists, still no heists. I am one of the many that complain about it. I won't anymore, just putting it out there. And please, do not give me facts or speeches about why it's not here etc etc etc. I don't care. I just hate when a large gaming company such as this, is not a man of their word. Stop promising something and then delaying it beyond belief. It's bad business.

I know for sure I'm never buying another rockstar game at this point. When the launch trailer says "perform heists with your friends", and they release the remastered version for $60 without what they promised on the original, it shows that the company doesn't care about the fans of the game they are releasing, just how much money they can milk off of it.

Agreed, its been proven they can't keep a promise or their word

The Call of Duty series, Halo 4, and Destiny all did this; made promises about how much better the game would actually be. Promising features that never appear, or promising to beat their previous game released with newer content and game mechanics. None of them need to change since the companies already have your money.

Rockstar isn't special either. There's no incentive to put in heists if customers are still willing to buy their game without the heists.

care to clarify on exactly what those games promised?

and I think the worse thing about the heists was not just that they said they were going to add them. Its that they said in the launch trailer they were going to add it. And at least 3 times they said it was coming but every time they pushed out some avocadoty clothes pack. A few of them had masks and clothing that my characters glitches through.

care to clarify on exactly what those games promised?

Each of the three series promises to bring something to the table in order to build up the hype for customers to want to buy it. I'll be brief since this thread is dedicated to GTA V. Call of Duty rehashes the same game release after release, promising new content in the form of "better" weapons, perks, equipment, and game modes. However the core concept of a run-and-gun shooter will always be there. So nothing truly changes with the game since Activision makes bank with each release.

343i's Halo 4 effectively ruined the multiplayer matchmaking experience that millions cherished in the Halo franchise. Quite a multitude of grievances both in-game and on their forums showed problems with JIP, insta-respawn, the utter lack of customizable settings, no elites, weapon imbalances, and the like drove away a large portion of the community. Numbers dont lie, when after five months of release the amount of players on Halo 4 matchmaking could barely keep 20K at primetime, as opposed to Halo 2, 3, and Reach's 150K on primetime. Also when MLG leaves one of the two founding games that it was built on, you know something screwed up.
But 343i has everyone's money, so they have no incentive to change. Whether or not the bulk of the community is pissed, doesnt change the fact that 343i loses nothing.

Bungie's Destiny was hyped with over-the-top endless raids with incredible loot gear for your hard-earned grinding, MMO play styles, and a rich storyline. Yet when a number of greviances over the DLC sets not packing in enough content to justify the price, DLC areas that are currently in-game already but are restricted until you go pay more money, and completely random loot drops that are not indicative of actual skill or hard work put into collecting it. Bungie can sweep this under the rug once agin, because it already has your money, so why should they change?

and I think the worse thing about the heists was not just that they said they were going to add them. Its that they said in the launch trailer they were going to add it. And at least 3 times they said it was coming but every time they pushed out some ruppiesty clothes pack. A few of them had masks and clothing that my characters glitches through.

Once again, a "promise" that Rockstar could state all day that they will add it, but at the end of the day is not obligated to do so. Customers will go and buy the FPS GTA V regardless of whether or not heists will be involved. To Rockstar, if they rehash the same content of more clothing dlc, they get a better bang for their buck; less work and more money.

It's a product of AAA titles. Bigger names can afford to push aside features, or flat out lie about it, for the sake of profit. They can stand to lose a few customers here and there who are disappointed about the lack of heists, since customers are here for the GTA experience, not the heist experience.

call of duty and destiny straight up lied as well. But halo 4 was never promised to be anything more than a progession based shooter more akin to modern shooters than its roots. Sure, it tried to modernize the series and make it more like other shooters. But they never said it was going to be anything else. From the point it was announced 343 said that they were going to try to put their own twist on the series and that is exactly what happened.

call of duty has pretty much promised improvements since the first successful one and hasn't fufiled its promise, i doubt anyone believes activision at this point. And destiny promised a unique experience and lots of content that has yet to appear. I traded it in and there is no way in hell I'm touching that franchise ever again.

and I understand the need to push features aside to focus on other more important ones. But over the past year rockstar has been saying "heists are coming, get ready for heists. They will be here any day now", and they haven't been coming. Instead they had their team working on a remake of the game that didn't even have all the features the launch trailer said it did.

Well...after about 100 years of waiting, Heists are FINALLY coming out on the 10th of this month. Anyone else (who hasn't sold their game yet) plan on trying this long awaited (and better be worth it) DLC? I have to try it out, I put too much time, effort, and money into this game (Fake money, of course) to just ignore this. Not to mention, it's looking pretty sweet so far! Some of the challenges give out amazing bonuses at the end of the Heists.

With the launch of GTA Online Heists imminent, we have no doubt you and your Crew are cracking your knuckles and rubbing your sticky fingers together at the prospect of pulling off elaborate robberies at some of Los Santos' most closely-guarded institutions. Massive scores of GTA$ await those with the planning and the teamwork to pull these audacious thefts off. As you're taking final roll calls on your most trusted allies ahead of the launch of Heists on March 10th, here are a few pointers to help ensure your plan is of the best-laid variety.

FOLLOW THE LEADER
First things first: every Heist needs a leader and the Heist Leader is going to need to be at least rank 12 and own a high-end apartment with a planning board in order to co-ordinate the crime. Not only do Heist Leaders cough up all of the setup costs up-front, they have complete control over team roles and the cut of the final take each Crew Member gets. Additionally, Heist progress is only saved for the Heist Leader - so when choosing a leader it makes sense to link up with someone you can trust.

ALL TALK
It should go without saying that good teamwork starts with communication - and headsets are important to successfully pulling off Heists. Whether it's telling a lookout where they need to be, a passenger locating vehicles using the Trackify app and giving directions to the driver, or two infiltrators operating a pair of security panels in perfect sync.

ROLL CALL
At different stages of each Heist, Crew members will be assigned different roles. These could be slightly different responsibilities within a single scenario - for example, two lookouts and a bodyguard while a buyer completes a less-then-legal exchange of information - or larger deviations, like two players patrolling in an attack chopper above while the other two infiltrate a facility below. It's important for all players to know their strengths and, in turn, for the Heist Leader to assign accordingly. If you see yourself as an ace pilot, then put in some time at the Flight School and increase that flying stat to prove it.

TOOL UP
Professionals don't expect the customer to provide the tools for the job. While there might be some more specialized equipment that may be provided (or that you'll need to acquire) along the way, for the most part you'll be using your own custom vehicles and firearms to get by. So it's a good time to take stock and make sure your garage and your arsenal are prepared for all possibilities. Silencers on guns and RPGs in general are especially useful for certain Heists while four-door vehicles with added armor can come in handy if you like to keep your friends close. With GTA Online Heists you'll be able to unlock a range of new vehicles and gear including an extensive selection of new outfits perfect for whatever each Heist throws at you.

BONUS ROUND
For the financially ambitious there are a few ways to increase the income from Heists in a major way. First off, each Heist has its own Elite Challenge which, upon completion, will yield a substantial cash bonus. These can be completed multiple times, but be warned: they're no cakewalk.
On top of that, there are Special Heist Completion bonuses that can only be achieved once per person, but will add some serious zeros to your bank balance. They are as follows:

  • First Time – Completing each Heist Finale for the first time, will net you a bonus cash reward
  • All In Order Challenge – Complete all Heists in order, including Setups, to receive a $1,000,000 cash bonus
  • Loyalty Challenge – Complete all Heists, including Setups, with the same team of players to receive an additional $1,000,000 bonus

The Call of Duty series, Halo 4, and Destiny all did this; made promises about how much better the game would actually be. Promising features that never appear, or promising to beat their previous game released with newer content and game mechanics. None of them need to change since the companies already have your money.

Rockstar isn't special either. There's no incentive to put in heists if customers are still willing to buy their game without the heists.

don't forget skyrim..........."GUYS HONISTLY RADIANT AI AND TOWN ECONOMYS!"

agys still pissed about that one.

or aliens CM "GUYS HONISTLY GREATIST GAME EVA!!!...........(gearbox wispers they are pulling all funding in favor of borderlands 2 and gives it to some half baked company that then complty redoes the game form scratch......gearbox suscusfuly scrubs the internet of all pre funding pulled trailors)......

agys still pissed about that one too........stupid gear box. I still have the pre pulled funding trialors showing insane AI and graphics and mostly completed lvs..............

Not necessarily tomorrow, but I certainly want to play them some time in the near future. 8)

Do any of you think that the PC version will be worth it when it is finally released? I would like to hear others opinions on it.

Not much of a PC gamer, but I assume so!

And heists are now live, everyone MOSTLY should be updated with them. Let us know what you think, if you still play GTA5! :D

Personally, there is no way in hell I'm shelling out $60 for a new version of the game when it took them a year and a half to add something they promised in the launch trailer. And that was after they took a month to release online and it was buggy as hell.

Yeah, I kind of feel the same way about it and probably will not be getting it unless it has a major drop in price. Also there is something that I am curious about, when it is finally released on the PC will it be up to par like the consoles or will it be released in the same update as it was on the consoles?

Too many people online trying to download the update and play. I'm on Xbox One and the console+other games are fine except GTA Online Rockstar servers. I'm surprised I didn't expect this to happen.

If you can wait, wait for a sale, you'll get it cheaper and mods would have made their way in so there'll be more to play around with. If you're playing GTA5 a lot still and want to play it on PC badly then consider it.

Alright so I've been playing the Story Mode again recently, been attempting to find more ways to make money and enjoy the game early on in the story. So I was doing the 'Seeking The Truth' mission line for Michael. (Basically at the end you can attain 2.1 million dollars, very much worth doing right after the Vangelico Heist) Anyway, I came upon the part where you are to wander the desert for 5.0 miles while wearing the robes you purchased earlier in the mission. I finally figured out the time it takes to wander for 5.0 miles in the desert. I timed each .1 mile to a round about of roughly 25 seconds each. That's if you tap the 'A' button at a steady pace. Not if you walk, or just hold 'A'. Anyway, each .1 mile is 25 seconds, 25 times 50 (as each .1 equals 10 per mile) comes to 1250 seconds. Which then translates to 20.83- minutes of running in the desert. Given the thumbs may start to hurt a little during this, we can round this to 21-25 minutes. Or possibly more if the player pauses to eat or use the bathroom. Not a bad amount of time to further advance the mission, after this it's on to the final stretch towards that sweet 2.1 million for Michael. And this early in-game to. ;)

Try playing in the first person mode. It is a whole other game at that point. It is great and a lot of fun.

I think games should support 4k out of the box... It shouldn't be an advertising feature... All games should have scalable resolutions.

Same as the 60fps trailers, we've played games at 60fps for years why should that even be an advertising feature.

Meh, I'm just hoping this is good if it isn't after 2 years of delay? Its not going to be pretty... >~>

because a lot of games don't still on consules sadly.............yes we are in 2015 and still we cant get every consul game on a next gen machine doing 1080p and 60fps. XD

It was pretty fun, definitely something to get used to. The way it works is amazing though! Very well made, and the detail on each gun is spectacular in first-person mode.

Well I have it on PC now, I can't even play since the latest update for some reason it cant install....

Anyway, runs fantastic... and looks pretty damn good at the same time :D

First person mode is cool, but the FOV is wayyyy to low and makes me feel sick after short periods of time.

MP seems to work well, but the loading times are so ridiculous :/ not as bad as 360 tho

There was a slider for FOV in the settings I believe. I remember playing with it on the console version at least. Or you mean it is just too low even when maxed out?

I forgot to mention, if anyone still plays on Xbox 360 I have a crew that I don't mind having more friends in. Nothing serious, just enjoying the game, completing heists together, and never taking the game too seriously. Feel free to check it out and join if you want! Just click the Crew Emblem below, it'll take you to the Social Club Crew page.

Hello miners, so recently this update came out for GTA 5 which includes this neat tool that lets you direct a video clip in-game. It's called the "Rockstar Editor" and it's a really fun feature to mess around with. During that day I decided to make a quick short cinematic as a test to see how it works and this is what I came up with. I know this is totally unrelated to my channel which is supposed to be TM based, but I wanted to share, with the community, a treat of mine  ;). I hope you enjoy this video  ::) . This post was re-uploaded by the way because I accidentally put this in the wrong topic lolzz.

Very awesome film! I never knew GTA had this, I may need to play with it today! I have always wanted to make little short films and such, using GTA it'll be a great way to do so!

I've been racing quite a bit lately in my Stratum. I currently need to link my real Social Club with my 360, so I can port all my data to the PS4 this Christmas. Sadly, I lost my password to it, so it kinda sucks. Lots of people have tried to sabotage me during races, but Karma always came back and bit them. If anyone wants to pull some Heists with me, Please message me on Xbox 360 Live @ Racedriver43. And to those who tried to wreck me? Sorry guys, driving dirty doesn't always get you first. ;)
