Note: This is a fairly generic feature, and could easily be changed to be Cars, Trucks, Buses etc on roads, offroad stuff, Boats, Planes, etc.

More Trains n Cars

Desc:
What you can see there is approx 100 trains and cars (total).

Without collision detection, just rendering, a reasonable desktop can handle 1000s of these entities in realtime.

So there's no reason why you couldn't have several hundred cars, trucks buses, bikes, trains, planes and boats, and whatever other wacky vehicles you can create, moving around your worlds.
