PS4 have announced they will have a self publishing Indie channel.
We are currently trying to find out what programming languages will be supported.
If C# is supported we will port TM to the PS4.
From what we can see atm it appears the PS4 will support games written in C#. We are now trying to find out how to get a dev kit.
As for the Xbox One, we are still waiting to hear what MS are planning to do about Indie support. There is no concrete information at this time.
We all know MS have dropped support for their XNA API which is the software behind XBLIG.
We do not know yet if they plan to release an alternative or what their plans are regarding this API.
There is an open source project called MonoGame (http://www.monogame.net) which replicates the XNA API and supports multiple platforms. So far it appears the PS4 will support games written in C# and MonoGame.
If we port TM to MonoGame, then TM can be released on the PC and (hopefully) PS4. It also gives us options for other platforms.
MS have announced they intend to continue to support the Xbox 360 console for another 5 years.
Updates for TM on Xbox 360 will continue.
Sony has approved our application to self publish Total Miner: Forge on the PlayStation 4 console.
Once the legal formalities are complete and the dev kits received, work will start immediately on the port.
We should have some new concrete info regarding the PS4 project in the next week or so.
Our Global Product Proposal (TM on PS4) has been accepted by Sony.
Now we are waiting on a Product Code, and then Dev Kits.
