Title: public particle component pack

Hey
so i decided to start up a component pack with particles...mostly items and things that you can add around your map that are simple and quick to add. Partlces are really popular and now for me, they're not really hard to do anymore and don't take long to do,so why not make a bunch of things people can use on their map :)

as of right now,the only way that this would be possible to share out is through a share session,that if this becomes popular enough,that i could make a share session where I would afk and allow whoever to grab the component pack,where I think that if you want to update the folder with new things i add,that you would just have to redownload the folder and then I think it updates it for you
My goal is to get this added to the system folder,but that's up in the air until Craig figures out some stuff...so until then,i'm doing this as a pack that i would share out manually,and then hopefully it can be added to the system folder down the road,but no promises yet
I'll probably include my bigger stuff that ive done being lots of people like them

i'm going to start sharing the pack out.I plan on doing it in versions,where each version will consist around 40-50 items,where  i'll lean towards 50,but i may just share it consistently to where any particles that I add in the pack you would have to redownload the pack to get any new particles i add into the pack,although whole versions seems a bit nicer/organized....just would take longer for people to get any new stuff. When i do host share sessions,it'll be while I'm at work,and I'll leave the share session open,so that way I don't have to manually approve them

Disclaimer
There's 2 or 3 things you have to be aware of when downloading my component pack:
being there's a 500 limit on usage,its prob best to put proximitys on the blocks if you plan on using a lot of particles
if i have a particle that says a certain direction,then that means you have to paste it in that direction, otherwise you'll mess the particles up....although I'm pretty sure people will learn pretty fast on that once they paste a couple of them wrong :P


i also should probably fix the op on this in some point,which i plan on doing eventually being im too lazy atm at editing the op

op updated
added a bunch of particles to the pack and some pics as well.ill organize it into sub groups for each particle better later on when i have a bigger list

this prob wont make 2.5,but what i decided to do was ill prob host a share session while im at work so you can get any new particles that i add because i think if you download the same component pack,that it overrides the folder that you already have,so im hoping that's true

otherwise ill try and get this on pc definately.and ps4 if it ever comes

You could do a hat in literally just two particles.

Everything on this list impresses me because I suck at particles and scripts etc.  I'm only a builder :)

Yeah but that just feels too simple.if he really wants a hat then I'll make a hat that lays on a table or block

Who cares? Simple things work just fine. I have a candle that is two particles, And a bottle that is 4.

They are both the ones I use the most.

You should add an ice maker to it to kind of help people realize it's a refrigerater. A 2d one placed on the left door would suffice. Maybe a dark square the. Lighter square inside of that to add some depth then a skinny line for water and a thinker one for ice.

Picture frame on a table, the kind that have a kick stand on them
A stack of US dollars, maybe some kind of messy pile or several stacks to get her at different heights.

I made a laptop that has like a homepage and stuff
Also made a wooden chair

The chair has all 4 direction variants, will do all 4 laptop variants later.

I'm still trying to figure out how to build the aquarium because of the transparent particles making solid particles not visible. Right now it's either have just water in it or have no water and fish swimming

yeah he mustve done that during the day or while i was at work.i work 2nd shift so im gone most of the day.kinda wish i could help get more stuff done or as quick as him,but the stove took me a day to do

By the way, that is a scaled down skyscraper. I forgot about that.

I was also going to do some jars of coloured liquid, but got lazy. You could totally do that, Ugh.

Also, you should probably ask Dryym if you can use the wine bottle.

Speaking of that, I do have some particles that may be useful. Like the jars I used in the alchemy shop on my world. Or the portals I used for my portal gun.

Attention:

i'm going to host my 1st share session for the particle pack tonight while im at the store,and then ill leave it up for a little when im back home to let some more people get a chance at grabbing it

ill be sharing it at times while im at work,that way i can have the session open longer for people instead of 30 or 60 minute sessions

all i ask is if youre on the forums and you get a copy of the pack,then let me know on the thread that you did and/or your opinion on them

im still sharing this out to whoever wants a copy.i know i havent added anything recently to the pack,but because ive been a little busy with work and also trying to just get the map im working on done and out of the way,and then when its done,i wont have any distractions or stuff to work on for a while.but like i said im still willing to share the pack out to whoever,just i cant do it while i afk,being you have to restart the session each time someone gets the pack,which is the main reason i lost motivation,being its really annoying to give out to people

Work is now being resumed on this.my work schedule changed and I have a lot of free time on my hands now to where I was slumped with work for a while

CRAIG!! If you're seeing this, PLEASE make it so there's a feature to where you can load Xbox components onto the PC or something like that!! Thanks  ::)

I'm not making any 'feature' to transfer Xbox data to PC. There are already programs that do that and it's way beyond the scope of this game.

Anyone who wants to transfer their TM data from Xbox to PC can do that with these programs, which enable you to transfer any files from the TM Xbox Save file to your PC. Maps, components, photo's, whatever you want.

I would be but I moved to a place where I can't get Internet so I could only play if I took my Xbox to someone else's house so it'd be very rarely

I finished it and it was pretty easy where i'll do an off version of it too,but I need feedback on this one first before I do the 2nd one

and if done right i could make a script where u activate the script to where its in the off position,where if you wanna turn the lights on in a room,it would change to the on position or activate the emitters for that switch,in a way how i animated my neon sign

That light switch is really cool!

You could maybe try making wooden skirting boards? It could be useful if you were to build a house etc..

Yeah that's something I was looking for but now that I look back at it, it doesn't seem that good.  Maybe when TMF PC comes out, this could be an actual block that could be implemented into the game, and also it would be cool if you could change the textures on it, just like stairs and slabs etc.

i really like the challenge idea.it'll be really tough to get right,especially because ima have to do sets of different emitters for each channel or animation,or just get really lucky,but there's a small chance that i might have to script it....but either way its doable,just going to be really tricky to get just right,especially for anything animated

most likely will expand on these and make a whole set so people can finally add railroad ties to their maps if they please
cool thing is theyre even across so they blend together with multiple ties connecting

should i make some with more details in them?
I did these like this because they dont take many particles to add,but obviously theres not alot of detail in them.i could add more detail to them but it would use up alot more particles if i did and people wouldnt be able to add as many.....allthough ill prob make a finer set for those who do want better looking ties

If you used rotate for the corner ties/sleepers and possibly the corner rails, it would look cleaner, and would use considerably less particles, which may be important if people want to lay down a lot of track. With that in mind, it may also be better to reduce the number of ties on straight track from 5 to 4 or even 3 and make them appropriately wider.

also,the north-south or east-west ties use 9 particles per track.honestly, i thought about making a more detailed track than what i have atm being imo I thought these looked sorta bland or ok/isn't that much details to them already.i could reduce the amount of emitters i have now but id think it would look worse xD
sure i can use less particles or maybe get away with removing maybe the darker gray and maybe 2 ties/boards(iIDK if that's what you call the board) but it would look really weird.I could possibly reduce the corner ties,but they'll still need quite a few particles,where i think I'm at 37 for a corner tie,but my goal was to make it feel like a corner track.I could reduce the amount i have now but i don't wanna ruin the feel or make it look sloppy

but either way,at most even if i reduced the particles down to 5 for regular ties,that's 100 tracks at most,and possibly reduce the corners to maybe 18,but personally,I wouldn't be as happy with it

i could possibly make a lower quality track pack,but even if i did that,you wouldn't be able to populate your map with railroad ties

My mistake, I forgot rotation is continuous. Regarding how many tracks can be put down, I guess you could always use the proximity value to enable tracks across the whole map.

As far as how?


Have you considered the possibility of switching from particle emitters to proximity blocks with looping scripts attached?

The benefit here is that they could be infinitely more space efficient, And if you wanted, You could work in easy rotation using vars.

I did think about trying scripts,where I think there was a bug or 2  that made it hard to actually script them

I forget the reasons why I didn't want to where I'll post them when I remember them,but 2 of the problems were knowing  where the particle would go,and then the biggest thing from preventing me from doing it is that you can't share scripts out easily

I'll try a test on one and see how it goes,but idk what I'm going to do via the xyz coordinates,especially being its based off of 1 block and not multiple

tbh idk what items I do in order

For the most part it's random lol;or I just look through the list to do and then depending on the amount of time I have to work on something I based it off of that,where I don't wanna do something hard when I have 1-3 hours to spare,where if it's gonna take me a while to do the item then I usually wait on doing it until a day I have off from work or the weekend

Probably could've used less emitters,but I couldn't figure out how to make the lines even in the center,so i tried my best
plus I wanted to have it look like there was actually a steel grating/fence look and not have a flat feel.it might of used a few more emitters but it was worth it

I made a sack recently. I've been trying to make it script friendly, But I can't seem to add an offset to it without doing some other method.


I'm probably going to end up making the offset work by placing a chest underneath the particle emitter and putting items in it to make the particle offset. This means the whole system will be 2 blocks for as many particles as you want. Unfortunately, The max offset I can make whilst still having decimal places is 10. So placement won't be able to be super precise.


Edit: Actually, Forget that last part. My brain did a dumb and forgot that the stack size doesn't matter. I can have more than 100 items in a chest.

chairs will be quick to make depending what kind i do,so ill try and do alot of different kinds. potions seems easy to make too

right now im just adding random stuff to the pack but i want to do stuff that would be used frequently as well as variety.sure i can do a bunch of really cool stuff,but i want to be able to offer stuff that people can use a lot or that would be popular for use

what do you guys recommend that i focus on more?

That looks good, both sizes aren't too bad if you were using them in certain situations.

Here are some ideas that shouldn't be too hard.

•Pile/stack of dollars
•Pile/stack of coins (copper/silver/gold)
•Foods (sushi, steak, chicken, mashed potatoes, peas, burger, fries, box popcorn, etcetera)
•Drone (hovering/landed) in a few different styles or colours.
•Guitar (electric/acoustic)
•Sleeping dog/cat?

to where i didn't add a bag to it,so i'll prob make another one with a bag option.i could probably make a simple script where you could actually throw trash away and have it to where once theres x amount of items,that it fills up,and if its left out for too long,then flies collect by the trash can,and then you're also able to switch out the bag with a new one...so pretty much a interactive script for a house

i wouldve had more items done by now,but i got occupied with making a script,to where i got stuck on it last night...i really want to finish the script first,and then ill be back to making items,so sorry for not updating the pack recently

so my goal for these is to make a few sets of different kinds and color combinations, and then to offer different options for heights, where this one is 4 blocks high...I can only go up 5 more blocks with this set so I'll have an option for 2,3,4,5,6 and 7 blocks high to accommodate for different style houses,although these used quite a few particle emitters,but with other ones I hope to use a lot less with them,and/or to make them more simple, otherwise these came out pretty good

I also wanna include some sets that flash, so I'll see how that goes.

Sorry for not uploading any new items,was just occupied with filling this job application/resume out for a job that i really want,but now its done

theres a mod for gta 5 though that from the list on this one theres over 3000 items

some of them or 1/4 are invalid or not doable,but theres alot of really good things on the list

this mod is anoying though bcs the camera control sucks and alot of the items spawn in the air.there's a mod that i do like,or the map editor,where theres a better camera and controls on it,but idk how to get it to install right,so i'll have to do something another time and try to download it,but this mod/s will def help me alot,and its cool because it has pretty much anything you can think of with lots of different options between stuff and color schemes,so ill def be using this to create a bunch of stuff....plus alot of the items looks really easy and simple,so i could probably pump out alot of content fairly quick....but w the object spooner that i have atm,i cant really view some of the items that well,so ill try and get some stuff done either today or later this week


Edit:i fixed teh problem and figured out why it wasnt working and now i got the app to work,and this one actually has over 5000 props lol

So a new thing I've found out about that will be really useful for ideas is Gary's mod.theres lots of add one you can download for free and I've found a ton of prop packs,including a half life 2 pack with over 1000 items lol

I want to try and find something medieval or rpg themed,being i guess it's more popular for particle items,so I'll look more at the add ons  tomorrow after work

My goal is to redo or change the op to make it more presentable/organized or organized,so be on the lookout for that

I've passed 100 items, overall pretty cool milestone, imsI'm going to attempt to reorganize my op and make it look professional with proper categories.i'm Going to start focusing on individual groups or kinds of items that i make a batch amount of items per class or different kind of item.My overall is to hit between 500-1000 items in total for use in my pack, which means I'm going to have set goals for each item, and then once i get enough stuff i want by default, then ill do misc items or really cool stuff. Ill still be doing misc stuff. Still, just the focus is to do themes mainly,so i can sort of finish things easier or quicker

callum wants me to make him a sign for his server on PC and then possibly a bar with some Chairs and bottles

I might focus on chairs for the next part,but I wanna try and fit either a ATM machine,,vending machine,slot machine or just something really cool/demanded

Maybe some medieval stuff would be cool,especially potions
Otherwise just gna do random stuff

I have over 10000 choices I could do,between props from the GTA 5 map maker,sims games,skyrim and now Gary's mod,where Gary's mod I have a bunch of prop pack add ons,and some if the packs have 1000+ items per pack,and then some mobile app that has props

Allthough requests def help bcs I know what ppl are looking for or want.i know ppl have posted ideas already,which is cool

Just feedback as I go along def helps me out and keeps me motivated,but none seems as interested anymore :(

But I might start doing city themed stuff to help people add common stuff to a city map such as street lights/signals,signs,fire hydrants,and any other stuff commonly used

You should do something where there is roadworks going on. What I mean is that you could create something where there are pipes coming out of the ground, steam or smoke coming out of the ground, sparks from electricity cables in the ground, and bits of tarmac and gravel about the ground.

Search up: Roadworks in New York just for an idea.

With the addition of doors (if you are going to do them) you could also do gates (garden gates) and windows that look like they are open.

should i make doors?

I think you should. You could make glass doors and big double doors etc.

well i added a quick poll.lets se what others think

With the addition of doors (if you are going to do them) you could also do gates (garden gates) and windows that look like they are open.

I don't know if this has been said but you could also add curtains and blinds to go with the windows.

Also you could add shutters to the exterior of the windows, just type in 'master shutters' on Google Images.

that one specifically was intentional

im trying to figure out how to set the door open but i cant figure out how to.if this is going to be difficult then i might just either do 1 position,or just not do doors....unless people dont care for closed+open,then ill add them

im going to use this post to help me redo my op.i'll be editing it here and there with a to-do list and to expand on it.I'm not editing my OP tonight being im going to need several hours to actually redo it and make it organized and presentable.Plus with this sub list,this'll help me out a little and give me an idea of what i need to do for the bare minimum for the pack to be complete,where anything else after all my goals are complete would be extra

If you do make anything for the pack then I need it to have 3 things

Duration =8 and emit freq=7.8
A solid color both the start and end color being the same+255 alpha value
Make them in a tower descending downwards

A couple of things.

1: Why 7.8? 7.9 is more efficient and produces no graphical errors for me.
2: Why the same start/end colour and no translucency? You can do some really cool things with these options. Like a sci-fi fusion reactor, Or an electric Jacob's Ladder.


Also, What if someone makes a stalactite? That can't very well be a tower downwards, It'll ruin the effect and be unusable.

2doesnt have to all be solid.he could do some of the stuff or what he'd need tobtransparent,just most or 90% that I've done so far has been solid colors,but he's free to do as he please

3:he could do bottom up if he wanted...just again rule of thumb that most things would be on the ground .he could go front-back even for the wall if he wanted but most likely if it's complicated that the blocks would get in the way of people's builds or be a nuisance if it's long enough

Wasn't trying to restrict him on what he can do,especially if he's gna he helping me,just was listing a few things  when speedposting my response to him last night

So Ima post some future plans if what might happen in general

So you've probably heard me talk about this job I'm going for.i have a good chance of getting it based off how how the interview went and the areas I put my name down for/positions, and the need that they have for them, mostly because of  how they pretty much have no one else that'd apply for them and/or that hasnr(idk how many other people applied for the same 2,but I'm pretty sure I'm the only one that applied for the 1st one,and the 2nd one is a spot/area few ppl apply for)but it's still not official yet if I made it
The 1st job that they pretty much need someone that if I don't get the 2nd spot,I'll probably get this one, is a videographer, or someone that gets video footage of activities going on each program night and possibly pictures.ive heard they hire a 3rd party group to get the pictures,but I don't see a reason in that,when I could do it myself lol(so I'll talk w them on that bcs photography is one of my favorite things to do
Then at the end if the week you put everything you got throughout the week and you make a DVD for that week I guess.the part that they'll need someone to be able to do is learn how to operate a drone and then I guess the person will use the drone,hopefully only part of getting footage(other part is on foot hopefully) and then they seem to think video editing is really hard lol...so that's the spot I have the greatest chance at getting into as

The 2nd job,which I'm hoping I land,would be managing their dining hall facility,being I've worked there as normal staff before for 3 or 4 years,and I know how to do a lot of the stuff they'd need someone to do,plus it's a important role they have to fill up and idk how many others applied for the 2 spots....I'm worried that things might not work out that good,but from what they say,that I should be alright or to not worry and that one Of the guys said it took them a while to go through everyone last year...I know they're busy and have a lot to take care of so I'm just letting things be and to play out on their own
But if I do end up getting this job,then I'll prob take on a 2nd part time job in the morning to get some money saved up and to take care of a bunch of stuff that I need done bfr the summer job starts,which means my time to work on this pack will be reduced to 1-3 days a week,and then depending on the job I get, I could start early....but in general I'll start late May and finish up in August,but that means that after I leave,all work will stop until I'm back home,which sucks in a way.im close to hitting my goal  of 250-300 items anyways,so w this job,it'll be somewhat of a relief or a break .so thought I'd share w you guys some info that might take place

As far as the pack goes:I need some ideas for unique items...bob gave me the railroad thing which turned out pretty good,and I have my perk machines,but I wanna have a bunch of cool and unique stuff as well that impress people

one thing i did different than skyrim's weapon rack is the black metal bindings that they have, i made all them a really dark maroonish red color instead of black


i know this is just 1 thing, but I'm going to expand on this and try to make a few weapon choices or items.my goal would be able to try and make as many of the weapons/items in total miner...armor I'm not really sure on and/or probably won't add being how complicated/how much emitters/particles it would take to even make a set of armor, so I'm probably sticking to weapons and items

Ok I have a question
So I'm basing the total count of items in the pack by things useable,but say I make a bunch of weapons for the rack fir display

Should I count those as different items in the pack or add onto the total count of stuff made?personally idk being its all mainly for display on the rack but that's just me

What I mean is in Skyrim for example, when a battle has just taken place, there are usually weapons and blood just lying all over the floor. You could do something like this. It would be good for an RPG map.

i was going to make a bunch of stuff, but i messed around on Skyrim for 3 4  hrs(went to try and see if you can place stuff on a weapon rack,but you can't, so i messed around with magic and shouts for 3 4 hrs :P)so i barely had any time left to work on stuff after. I did make this sledge hammer

i also changed the bottom wooden pieces where its by the bottom of the handle of the sledge where it's out more to provide more space, being the handle before i did that was barely missing the wood, so i needed to change it up so that way i have more room to work with. I came up with an idea to do items/weapons in different and/or multiple texture packs so there's a few options for each item to choose from

although some pictures of the items/weapons in the texture pack would be useful(if Craig would be willing to or kind enough to get a copy of the pictures/ textures, then that would make things a lot easier on me ::)

When I made those, being they needed a lot of emitters,and how some of them I had to shape the blocks to fit the space they were going in,which is why I don't have them in a tower,but also I had to make them facing specific directions to where they would normally be facing on black ops

The reason they scatter is that you pasted them the wrong direction,where all you have to do is spin the component into the right direction,or the direction I have on its name(if it says E then paste it looking east)

For a few of them I have a wall/floor to where the wall would be useful for getting the direction right.if it says east, then rotate the wall to where it's facing east,and then use the replace(clipboard) tool to delete the multi textured blocks and signs,so it's just the emitters

Also,if you plan on using a lot of the particles in the pack,I'd advise you to possibly use a proximity setting on each block.all you'd have to do, is paste it away from your builds,like in the air,and if it's layered,or the mule kick/double tap/pack-a-punch,then copy 1 layer,paste it away from the origional piece,and then change the settings on the block,then when you're done with that and the middle layer/s,paste it back on top of the main piece
I'd say prob do a setting of between 25-55

today i made my 1st pickaxe, which will help me in making the rest of them

it was kinda hard figuring out how to make this one being im just going by a 2d texture, where i can't tell what the surface is like on the pickaxe, and if one part has to stick out or be wider(like on the gold part on the middle) from the rest of the body/tool,so I'm trying my best to make the display particle look as similar to the actual tool/weapon, so if it looks a little off, then my bad

I was going to add like a lighter brown/sandstone like part on top of the wooden squares, being on the pickaxe it gradually goes from light brown up top to dark brown on the bottom of the wood, but i feel like it would've been more of an eye sore, so i just kept it with just the dark brown on the bottom

these are kinda fun to do,s o I'll probably end up doing the rest of the tools/weapons, and then depending how long i spend on these, I might do weapons from Skyrim or other games...maybe i can do guns from total miner, and maybe other games, but idk yet

I decided that I probably won't include guns, being the way that I made mine, that the weapons would look really awkward on it, and/or idk how I would even add them on the rack anyways

what i plan on doing for cabinets,is I'm going to do 2 versions of each cabinet: a regular one, and then one with the emitters 1 row forward, but so that way if you want to add anything below the cabinet, with the 2nd version 1 space forward, you can add another item below the cabinet

took me 5-6 hours to do but i created a down position for the railroad crossing lights i did a week or 2 ago

im also now helping out on a special project with steve where it's 7 or 8 days away and i'll need to have everything ready by then. So i'll be posting things that i complete for it,and ima try and get as much things as i can ready by then.this railroad crossing light was one of the things i needed to have ready for this,and it was going to be one of the longer things to complete,so i'm glad i got it out of the way,allthough i have a cool idea i'm going to do with this. I'll prob post a video of it either tmrw or the day after

currently making a script to animate the railroad crossing light using Rel coordinates from the script block,and it's going to take longer than  i thought being i need to do each position(up+down) and the flashing lights as different parts or scripts,and/or combine them all into one bigger script,or keep them in 4 sepperate scripts/parts
where both of them have over 150 blocks per model(plus for the lights part i have to go through each block and find the ones that i used for the lights)changing the xyz to the rel:xyz for each block,so thats going to require a day that i have off,probably  sometime this weekend,so ill either have to spend 1 or 2 more days on the script,or hold it off until my days off work

Sorry for not replying for so long.I've just been really busy now with tons of stuff going on in life and I've had little to no time to even touch my game now.I've started a 2nd job now that's only part time 4 days of the week,but i might pick up a 3rd job to pick up the remaining days, or find a better job than the part time one, but so i can save up for a car finally lol, or get one before the summer.plus a bunch of other stuff as well that are coming up now,as well as me wanting to go for some goals in mind,mainly the military,and although that won't be for some time still, i got things i need to do to prep myself to get to where i wanna be in life, but again that won't be for at least a year lol.I also need to get money together for a surgery that's going to be around 10,000.00, and plus i probably have to get my wisdom teeth taken out now, so idk how much that'll even cost.Plus i have plans this summer that I'm taking off.Ill be leaving around the beginning of June, or no later than the 19Th, which means, unfortunately, ill have to step away for a little and focus on that stuff, and also i won't be able to hit my overall goal of things i wanted in this pack.I'm sure i hit 200 items by now, and I'm sure  i can get quite a few more things done before June, but IDK ATM.sometimes when i am home and have nothing to do, i don't even feel like touching my game even, but i should probably push myself more

i kind of feel bad for not getting to put in as many things as i wanted in the pack, there's even there's a bit of variety in it still, but not to where I'm happy.with PC release coming soon, maybe before i leave in June, i have a set goal, which is to get the rotations off of each item, so you can use everything freely on your map.i originally planned to do that for PC or when PC was out being you could name stuff a lot easier and not be limited to file name size, but now my goal is to do it now, so that way its fully ready for PC and not half done by the time i leave.ill try and get some more things done, but idk what my schedule is going to be like up until June,but I've put in too much work on this pack for it to go to waste...so ill try and do all that i can while i still have the time to do it and then when I'm back home in the summer, ill continue from where i left off at, hopefully there'll be more options to emitters that i can use to create things

i have made a few things though that i didn't get to post yet.these were all things i was making as part of this special project, but that sorta fell apart being i haven't even heard anything on it since, which was about the time i got too busy and was working 2 jobs.

im going to start making the rest of the rotations for each of the items.ill make another post with a to-do list showing everything that i have done and what i have left to finish.i have a month n a half to finish it all,which if i do,itll be ready for pc.if i finish it before june and i have time then ill try and add some new stuff but idk if ill have time to
