About Huttondale

Howdy! I began this project with Gordinio in June 2016 as a side project to Barrow. Having released the potential for development, Barrow was shelved and Huttondale became the main focus. The end goal of the map is to simulate modern life in rural England, basically somewhere that I would love to live in, and hopefully you too! The map has over 800 properties which are all purchasable and customisable.

Farming
In Huttondale, you can farm to your hearts content with purchasable allotments, public farm and Florist Gump, the shop for the farmer within you. If you're a hardcore farmer, you can get a job at the farm in Twinlakes.

Gambling
Got money to burn? Why not waste invest it on the casino or the lottery? You could win tens of thousands of Aires, or not. There's a new casino at JG in Treeton Bridge too so there's more ways than ever to win!

History
Ever since the Tudors settled in Huttondale, the area has thrived off industry. When the mine was constructed in Treeton, Huttondale grew rapidly and provided the materials to build roads, villages and the many bridges you see today. The area takes it's name from "Hutton (on-the-hill) Village" and "dale" which is a Yorkshire term for valley. With excellent transport links to Baystone, Barrow and Airedale - new housing estates are being constructed far and wide.

Since Omega (owned by Gordinio) opened in 2013, there has been a strong rivarly between themselves and JG (owned by casual onion). One is cheaper, one has better stores, one has better locations and only the public decide which is best. An advertising war has begun between them and as well as this, they are both trying to gain employees by having the best factories. Which are you, #TeamJG or #TeamOmega?

Jobs
In Huttondale, jobs are available for you to earn money from. Currently there are two, working for JG and Omega. I am planning to add several more jobs, which includes the following:

-> Baker (Bakes produce from miller)
-> Blacksmith (Makes ingots & tools from ores collected by miners)
-> Butcher (Gets meat to sell to chefs)
-> Chef (Cooks and sells meat)
-> Farmer (Grows produce to supply miller)
-> Miller (Grinds farmer produce into flour for bakery)
-> Miner (Mines for blacksmith - free access to all mines)
-> Wholesaler (Collects products from suppliers to sell to player owned shops)

The current jobs are as follows:
-> JG Bakery Worker (Bakes bread and cake etc. for JG Bakers Kneads shop)
-> JG Factory Worker (Makes products for the JG Shop)
-> JG Farm Worker (Farms crops for JG Bakery)
-> JG Mine Worker (Mines blocks for factory workers to use)
-> Omega Blacksmith (Creating weapons and tools)
-> Omega Crafter (crafting various things)
-> Omega Factory Worker (Makes products for the Omega Shop)

I also plan to add a rank (XP) system for the Jobs. This is still a concept idea but here's what I've got for the ranks so far:
-> Intern: Collect 1,000 XP - 100 Aires Reward
-> Established: Collect 10,000 XP - 1,000 Aires Reward
-> Jack of all Trades: 1,000,000 XP - 10,000 Aires Reward

Please note this is subject to change, I may choose to do seperate ones for each job or change the rewards.
Suggestions welcomed.

Mining
Mining is one of the main sources of income for visitors to Huttondale, and as long as you put the effort in, it can be rewarding. The location of each mine is as follows

Burdon Pay on Entry Mine (POEM): Found in the centre of the village, Burdon mine has all the usual blocks you'd expect in a starter mine. Bus stop is located on the hill above the village. Entry is free for residents with a code, otherwise it is 100 aires. This money goes towards mine refill.

Everdale Regular Mine & Wood Mine: Found in the centre of the village, bus stop is located at the end of the village. Sell point is located in a nearby building. Wood and regular mine available, nearby tool shop.

Hill Top Digging Mine: Located in Hill Top, the mine has grass, dirt and sand to dig. Nearest shop is JG Cottonwood or JG Treeton, sell point located at mine. Bus stop nearby.

JG Employee Mine: Only accessible to JG Employees and is located below the Treeton Bridge factory. You can get a job here as a miner and make money or regular JG employees can use it to get supplies if they feel like it (otherwise they can push a button in factory). Everything sold here goes to JG to make products.

JG Public Regular and Wood Mine: Located inside JG Apartment complex, there are two mines. Shop located in the same building. Everything sold here goes to JG to manufacture products. Nearest bus stop is Jubilee Mill.

Rockford: Situated next to JG Rockford and accessible from Bricklyn, Cottonwood and Rockford via footpaths. Only accessible to those with supervisor rank and level 24 Mining. Sell point and tool shops nearby, as is a bus stop.

Treeton Main Mine & Wood Mine: Located in the centre of the village. The biggest mine in Huttondale. Wood mine also available, as well as crafting and smelting areas. Three tool shops nearby, two sell points. Two bus stops at either end of the mine.

Twinlakes Pay on Entry Mine (POEM): Located opposite Omega Twinlakes store in the East of the village. Entry is free to Twinlakes residents provided by a code issued when a house is purchased. Non residents pay 200 Aires. Mine has a selection of building bricks and is located underground. Bus stop nearby.

Properties

The map has a large variety of properties with every one being different to it's neighbour. Whether it be size, shape or design, each one is unique, there's no copy and pasted houses here. Whats more, most are based on real life British houses, something i like doing! The price of each property is based on the volume of it and any extras such as farms. I can guarantee you that houses are much cheaper than in any of my other maps with some of them starting below 10,000 Aires, especially in Burdon.

Ranks
In Huttondale, there are currently 7 ranks, shown below. These all have different rewards such as money (Aires), permissions (such as fly) and tools (pickaxes and a hammer!). Ranks can be purchased at JG Stores and at Spawn (Treeton Bridge). There will also be dedicated Rank Shops in some villages.

The ranks, price to purchase (and rewards) are as follows:

Apprentice: 100 Aires (Wooden Pickaxe, 10 Hutton Points)

Trainee: 500 Aires (Iron Pickaxe, Ability to sell to Wholesaler for more income, 50 Hutton Points)

Employee: 1,000 Aires (Steel Pickaxe, Spectate, 100 Hutton Points)

Clerk: 5,000 Aires (Greenstone Pickaxe, 500 Hutton Points)

Team Leader: 10,000 Aires (Block Shop, 1000 Hutton Points)

Supervisor: 50,000 Aires (Access to Wholesaler, 5000 Hutton Points)

Manager: 100,000 Aires (Diamond Pickaxe, Fly, 10000 Hutton Points)

Chairman: 250,000 Aires (View Scripts, 25000 Hutton Points)

Executive: 500,000 Aires (Ruby Pickaxe, 50000 Hutton Points)

VIP: 1,000,000 Aires (VIP Hammer, 100000 Hutton Points)

Shopping
Florist Gump: Florist Gump in Treeton is the one stop shop for all your farming supplies. It's also where the millers and farmers exchange goods to make money!

Just Great (JG): Since it was founded in Gorsey in 2008, JG has been providing blocks and tools to visitors with a strong emphasis on customer service. We have well laid out shops, all with crafting and smelting areas. With seven shops (two planned for Weardale) and two factories, JG is without doubt the biggest and best company in Huttondale and we're only going to get better.

You can also work at JG at our main shop opposite spawn. The current jobs are as follows:
-> JG Bakery Worker (Bakes bread and cake etc. for JG Bakers Kneads shop)
-> JG Factory Worker (Makes products for the JG Shop)
-> JG Farm Worker (Farms crops for JG Bakery)

The employee perks are as follows:
-> Ability to purchase employee apartments and cottages, exclusive to JG.
-> Great working environment in a modern building.
-> Half price pickaxes in any JG shop

Omega: Omega was created sometime in late 2013 on the map New Gorsey, it was originally a car dealership with a very questionable logo. After a few year it got into direct competition with JG, which started on the map Airedale, since then Omega has been the dominant company with its great prices. Omega will soon be branching out to new businesses, such as mining and baking.

You can also work for Omega and the roles here include:
-> Omega Blacksmith (Creating weapons and tools)
-> Omega Crafter (crafting various things)
-> Omega Farmer (Farms crops for shop)

As with JG, there are many employee perks such as:
-> 10% off everything except select items for all employees.
-> Blacksmiths have 5% off weapons and tools at Omega.
-> Crafters have 5% off general items at Omega.
-> Farmers have free seeds. (cannot be sold)
-> Free apartments and houses to loyal employees.

Points Shop, Twinlakes: Located a short walk from Twinlakes Lakeside, the Points Shop allows you to exchange Hutton Points for rare blocks such as colours and arcade machines, not available in regular stores.

Villages
In Huttondale, there are currently 22 villages to explore and maybe even live in one day. Most have a wide variety of properties at fair prices and occasionally mines and shops. Some have spectacular views too! I have put the average house prices in the brackets next to the village names.

Bricklyn (101,786 aires): Recently expanded village. Found on the road between Rockford and Hill Top, overlooking Bricklyn Bridge.

Bridgetown (52,407 aires): This is one of the biggest and is the oldest village in Huttondale, now home to allotments.

Burdon (9,966 aires): The official cheapest place to live in Huttondale. Built by Gordinio in a valley, Burdon has two shops and a mine so everything is close by. Easy access to the rest of Huttondale by bus.

Cottonwood (27,714 aires): A small village which currently has a JG store for anyone who stumbles upon it.

Duxford (70,417 aires): This hamlet lies in the valley between Hutton and Bridgetown. It only consists of a handful of properties.

Enclave (82,000): This village has just five properties in total and it lies between Hutton and Rockford.

Everdale (50,375 aires): A decent sized village located in the north of the map behind Cottonwood. Home to two mines, large houses, cheap apartments, stunning views and Gordinio keeps forgetting it exists.

Everdale Valley (72,345 aires): Compromising of only ten houses, Everdale Valley is found between Cottonwood and Everdale. Amenities include a bus stop and nothing else.

Great Hucklow (24,321 aires): Formerly known as Gorsey, this village has been completely redesigned and now offers affordable houses with stunning views.

Hill Top (29,838 aires): Hill Top has been completely rebuilt because it's the least visited village by bus. It's home to the digging mine, shops, apartments and allotments.

Hutton on the Hill (30,286 aires): Based on cottages from the North Yorkshire Moors in England, this is the prettiest location in the map and every house is for sale for under 60,000 Aires. There are 7 cottages in total in the village.

]Little Hucklow (56,067 aires): Situated halfway up the hill between Great Hucklow and Pilley, this village has large, well designed houses sat around a square.

Little Sunderland (48,486 aires): Based on the traditional Sunderland Cottage (Rows of Terraced Bungalows), Little Sunderland also houses a row of shops and some pleasant views. It's in a valley between Piley and Hill Top.

Low Treeton (35,680 aires): A new village built just down the hill from the main mine. Has lovely views over Treeton Lake and sits below Twinlakes Bridge.

Mill Hill (18,750 aires): Located just above Little Sunderland and directly behind JG Treeton is Mill Hill. Home to a few cottages with some very good views. It's the cheapest place to live in Huttondale.

Old Wearside (29,665 aires): Old Wearside is located on the road between Hill Top and Everdale, on the shores of Lake Wear with stunning views over to the Wear Bridge. There's only a few houses here but it's the location that sets it apart.

Pilley (45,655 aires): Based on actual houses, from a village that is actually called Pilley is 18 beautiful cottages, accessed under the highest point of Gorsey Bridge. It's got a direct path to the main mine and JG Treeton as employees will get a discount on houses here.

Rockford (86,438 aires): This area currently compromises of a small mine, which you require Rank Supervisor or 1,000 Aires to enter, which has blocks from Dacite to Granite. it's the most expensive village to live in.

Treeton (56,088 aires): This village currently houses the main mine and is accessed from Bridgetown via the Treeton Bridge. There are 11 houses and numerous apartments and shops. *Picture also shows Twinlakes*

Treeton Bridge (80,468 aires): The area between Bridgetown is known as Treeton Bridge after the small bridge that was located there until March 2018. It's now home to JG Complex, Omega Factory and Spawn.

Twinlakes (20,044 aires): Set around two lakes, rows of quaint cottages line narrow alleyways leading to the beach. Home to the points shop and a JG Factory.

Managed to rename the map and I've made a Kik group for it if that's still a thing. I'll get back to scripting when I'm next on it.

It's come to my attention the map needs renaming. The current suggestions for names are Clavedale & Huttondale. I'd like something with dale in it as that's the northern term for a valley which the map has. Thoughts?

As Cravendale interferes with a popular British milk company, i have renamed the map to Huttondale. I like the name because it combines my favourite build and the word dale. Time to work through my to-do list.

Nice job on the organization of the topic. Your map sounds promising, I wish you luck on it and hopefully I can join sometime in the future.

You should try adding something new to your buildings. I see these on all of your maps, and they look good, don't get me wrong, but if you always add and change it up every once in a while, you will find that you like them more and more.

So your saying you like styles but not the materials?

No, I like seeing new builds, rather than the same ones. Ha, I guess that's why I haven't seen some of my components in years

I think I've got a few of your components actually on a very old map. I think i adapted them for use as residential properties. I do see what you mean about my builds being similar though.

I've been incredibly productive on this map recently. That's a good thing i think. Today i've added;

> Seven ranks, the same as on Barrow.
> All mine selling scripts (10 in total). The blocks are all under mining level 20 so those with a lower mining level aren't fighting with those wielding diamond pickaxes. The higher value mine will be located in Rockford, a bus journey or long walk away.
> ATM & bank menu scripts are complete, the rest will be done tomorrow.
> Added ATM's at main locations such as villages and certain buildings
> Built more bus stops

Tomorrow's to do list
> Finish bank
> Add HudBars
> Begin bus scripts
> Add wood mine
> Begin Allotments
> More property scripts

Howdy folks. Haven't been working on Huttondale much recently but today I got a few things done. Here's this weeks additions.

> Bank fully finished for withdraw and deposit.
> Wood Mine Finished
> Sell All Button added
> More houses scripted
> Began working on JG Scripts
> All 7 Ranks are scripted
> Lottery is scripted

Coming Soon

> Bus scripts
> Allotment Scripts
> Wood selling scripts
> Even more property scripts
> HUDBars

I'm happy with the progress being made though as it's currently just me working on the map.

Ta rah :)

theres a couple things that should be done to your new rpgs because they all seem to be the same but just the layout is different and a couple of addition with my upcoming map scrips wont run my economy the players will you should add guns and a couple of more jobs like a officer job or a theif job officers arrest theifs theifs can pick pocket players but if a cop wrongly accuses someone they get punished or something but you should change things up a bit the buildings don't have to be different but its getting boring just mining in a mine why don't you have it where players can edit outside of the city limits? idk if its just me or what but those are my ideas

I'll break down your quote and try and explain it the best that i can.

theres a couple things that should be done to your new rpgs because they all seem to be the same but just the layout is different

Um, they aren't all the same. I'm always coming under fire for "overusing" sand coloured materials. Well, i'm sorry but i just like it and i think they work quite well together.

and a couple of addition with my upcoming map scrips wont run my economy the players will

I'm not really sure what you mean by this ;(

you should add guns

I would prefer to keep this map family friendly, especially with quite a few younger players who join my maps.

and a couple of more jobs like a officer job or a theif job officers arrest theifs theifs can pick pocket players but if a cop wrongly accuses someone they get punished or something

These probably won't be needed if the map is family friendly though TenMan has pretty much the exact same thing at it works quite well i think. I think i'll go for more quest style jobs on this map.

but you should change things up a bit the buildings don't have to be different but

Almost all the buildings in this map are brand new designs and those that aren't have been changed.

its getting boring just mining in a mine why don't you have it where players can edit outside of the city limits?

Because this will cause a whole heap of problems and there won't just be mines, i assure you.

idk if its just me or what but those are my ideas

I love suggestions but i should probably say that i am not hating on anyone, just wanted to be 100% honest and not sugarcoat the truth or what i think. I need to be more honest.

This map looks really nice, but my only remote question is, What's the point of the map? If it's like baystone, where you mine, and buy a house then what was a point in creating a new map? Maybe try something...new, maybe add some kind of story-RPG-like aspect to the map, because Your maps function really well with the whole economy thing.

As far as the builds, I like the bridges, and the simplistic design they have. Plus I also liked how you made the map on a more "Hilly" world. I also notice you have the same build-style that you commonly use which look nice might I add :)

Overall reguardless of what this turns out to be in the end, I look forward to joining Huttondale.
Good Luck!

Yes, the map is similar to my previous maps of Baystone & Barrow. The reason that i don't continue the maps on for a long while is that they a) break and become un-feasible to continue with (Baystone) or b) I want a change of scenery and the ideas that i have would work better and are easier to implement (Barrow).

The whole point of the map is to build a map as accurate to a British landscape as possible. Sure, a huge mine in a village centre isn't realistic - i get that but the buildings and bridges will be as close to realistic as possible. I describe my building style as "British Realism" and i try to stick to that. The main reason i use sandbrick and sandstone is because it's the closest to golden coloured stone in Rupture.

As far as the builds, I like the bridges, and the simplistic design they have. Plus I also liked how you made the map on a more "Hilly" world. I also notice you have the same build-style that you commonly use which look nice might I add :)

I think the bridges turned out nicely. I should say that they aren't all my doing though i have helped on them. The one that i solely built and designed is the brick one. I made the map on grasslands because it allows for more unique buildings as they can be built in or onto the hillside. Every house in the map has a nice view of something, less so in Duxford though. I'm also glad you like my building style, not many do :)

Overall regardless of what this turns out to be in the end, I look forward to joining Huttondale.
Good Luck!

Well, i look forward to seeing you soon and hopefully you can become the richest in the map and have a lovely property with nice views :)

What up peeps. How's it kicking?

Any who, I've been proper busy on Huttondale so I'm gonna give you the details, m'kay?

Added
> All property scripts done for Duxford & Enclave
> Added 5 purchasable derelict barns in the more remote areas of the map for player renovations :)
> Landscaping
> Building some sick walls

Okay, it doesn't look like I've done much but the first two took flipping ages. I had like 40 scripts to do plus trying to design buildings that look derelict is rather difficult.

Other than that, i hosted Barrow (which is totally still a thing) and yeah, I'd love to release the map soon if you wanna?

Ah. It was time consuming - to me at least. Let me elaborate.

Each property has two scripts, a confirm and a purchase script. The confirm script is simple if has inventory x else y. The purchase script is around 16 lines. It has the same as the confirm for added security in case anything occurs or I mess up. It also has around 4 history marks (I like to track things) the inventory scripts, set blocks and lastly the notify and zone commands.

To be honest it just involves changing the names of things (and block coordinates) in the scripts but with well over 100 properties, it can take a while though I've been quite productive today :)

An average script name would be

Enclave\The Green\05\Confirm

Village Name\Road Name\Number\Confirm or Purchase

I just change them in zone names etc. Don't think there's an easier way to do property scripts, been using these for a while.

If you could post one of your property scripts, I could check if 2.44 can do it 'relatively', i.e. one script for all properties, and if not, I could see if there's a way to do that.

It's because i changed the photo group name on photobucket, I'll get it fixed.

If you could post one of your property scripts, I could check if 2.44 can do it 'relatively', i.e. one script for all properties, and if not, I could see if there's a way to do that.

Here's an actual property script.

Enclave\The Green\05\Confirm

If
HasInventory [player] [goldpieces] [<] [168000]
Then
MessageBox [Sorry, this property is 168,000 Aires.] [a=[Withdraw from bank?][Bank\Withdraw\Menu]]
Else
MessageBox [Purchase 5, The Green for 168,000 Aires?] [a=[Withdraw from bank?][Bank\Withdraw\Menu]]

Enclave\The Green\Purchase

If
HasInventory [player] [goldpieces] [<] [168000]
Then
MessageBox [Sorry, this property is 168,000 Aires.] [a=[Withdraw from bank?][Bank\Withdraw\Menu]]
Else
History [Enclave\The Green\05] [player] [+1]
History [Owns\House] [player] [+1]
History [Property\Income] [+168000]
History [Points] [+1680]
History [Enclave\House] [+1]
History [House Owned] [+1]
Inventory [player] [take] [goldpieces] [168000]
SetBlock [894,249,928] [Sign] [37]
SetText [894,249,928] [[gamertag]]
SetTexture [894,249,928] [2]
Notify [[gamertag] bought a house!] [global] [124,252,0]
Zone [Enclave\The Green\05] [builder=player]

Yes - I have a lot of history marks.

Yes - I'm incredibly organised, it's almost alphabetical order!

Good luck simplifying it.

Howdy.

I'm currently on holiday so haven't really been on Huttondale. As the new update is out, I have loads of script based additions to improve the map as it's mostly just buildings, so if you have any ideas then please let me know what i could do. I'm still on track for an October realise, some time around Halloween so that's good eh? I'll update the features I added before my holiday when I can.

The Huttondale Barn Update is here (albeit a bit delayed)!

You can now buy a derelict barn in a secluded and very private location in the middle of no-where and convert it into a beautiful property.

How would you convert these and what into? I look forward to seeing your *creative* suggestions.

I've added absolutely loads, mainly scripts but some building.

> Twinlakes Village (Pictures coming soon)
A large village centered around a man made and natural lake. Every cottage is different and most are built into the landscape. There's also three shops.

> Omega & JG
The two main shops in Huttondale, the latter ran by me and the former by my admin GOD x DRIVE. Each business has three shops (Treeton, Rockford & Twinlakes) & (Bridgetown, Rockford & Twinlakes). Unfortunately, he has better locations and prices. Both sell pickaxes and hatchets and currently, only JG sells blocks. Each shop also has private crafting rooms downstairs.

Come stop by as i host most days each week. See you soon!

Howdy.

I'm currently adding some things to Huttondale but it's become apparent to me that this map is currently not as good as my previous maps, especially Baystone. So I hopped onto some old maps and added a few things. The thing is though, you're the one visiting my map so i want your suggestions for the map, big or small. If you want a working economy then let me know. Do you want a casino, mall or skytower? Just tell me, I'm all ears! This is its likely this is my last city map as Pc comes shortly (though I'm not sure if I'm getting it yet!)

Anyway, he's what I've done today.

> Finished Ranks
> Fixed Sell Scripts
> Patched Birch Wood Exploit
> Started Materials Scripts at JG

Also, big thanks to Ravenpaw for streaming today!

I've kept it basic as it was a bit of a rush to add it and it's easily expandable. It's also a little throwback to Baystone. How would you like to see it?
>more things to do like make some mini games like tic tac toe?

Honestly don't think it would fit in with the village feel of the map, its more RPG than challenge.

No plots yet but you could purchase a property for under 10k and use that as a storage room.

And,

I can't seem to find where to buy chests and furnaces etc.. Do i have to craft them?

Furnaces can be bought from JG Twinklakes, just follow the path alongside the Wood mine. Storage {ie Chests} will come in due course.

I've finally added a job to Huttondale. It's making products for JG at a factory. The job is like this.

1) Source own materials from mines
2) Make products listed in book at factory
3) Leave factory area and collect paycheck from upstairs.

Etc.

Any questions then let me know! Hosting in a couple of hours, need a few testers to make sure it's working.

Haven't been here in a while eh? Remember when I updated my topics daily?!?

Anywho, I've been working a lot so not much has happened. Here's what's been added...

- A 7 storey apartment building in Treeton replacing the coloured houses. It's got 30+ apartments, all furnished and with balconies. Prices start from 28,000 Aires and rise to 61,000 Aires. I expect them to sell quickly when people can actually afford them. There's also 8 shops on the ground floor, one of which will be Florist Gump Farm Store. #bringbackthepuns

- A heck of a lot of bug fixing. Like loads...

- Farm Shop is designed and partially scripted. Three allotments are scripted too.

- People on the streets, makes the map feel more alive. These will give quests soon.

- About to (like now) start adding achievements. I would like some ideas though.

- All ranks and buses work now. Took ages to fix these.

That's all I think. As always, any ideas, let me know and i'll see what I can do.

I actually felt like scripting today, so I did. Here's what I've added

Points Shop: Buy exclusive items and blocks with Points. Sells red, yellow, pink, green, orange and purple coloured blocks. Also sells Bed, arcade block, painting and sun boxes. Items will be added when skill upgrades are

Property Limit: It's now against the law to own more than three properties. Prevents all cheap houses from being un-available to poorer players.

New Mine refill system: Only at Rockford and Main Mine. Players donate 100 Aires at a time and when it reaches refill amount, it can be refilled. Money is rolled over to next refill. You can check how much is in refill chest. I believe i'm first person to do this in Tm though I may be wrong.

Custom Menu Additions: 9 statistics for players, redeem code 7991 to get rewards on my map. For those who see this only. Can only be redeemed once.

Ta-dah.

Had a few technical issues today. The regular save deleted Twinlakes but the autosave looks to be fine even if the time stamp was 1.5 hour I ended game!

Regardless, I have been productive.

Added
- A snazzy Tudor house
- Property limit per village not map (you can only own one property in each village
- For job, if there's less than ten of an item in stock, you get 25% more when it's sold

I really need to add bigger houses, if the exact opposite problem to what I had on Barrow!

The maps constantly quiet so not many join but I can't figure out why...

Anyway goodbye ;)

Hello, old friend. A couple of things to point out. Not every house has sandstone on it, infact - shock horror, some have no sandstone on them at all! Heck, i even built a tudor house and one made of stone wall. Snazzy. Another thing i noticed, not all (infact very little) of my houses are copy-pasted, let alone from other maps. I've made it my aim to have all new house styles.

Perhaps if you gave him a chance you'd know that there isn't a single block of sandstone in twin lakes.

If you exclude that dragon sculpture GxD built then, yes, you're correct.

Admin stuff aside - productivity levels have been high in Huttondale. Here's somethings i've added.

- Green direction signs so new folks don't get too lost
- Fixed a few more scripts (becoming a recurring thing this!)
- Spooky Scary Skeleton :)

Here's my to-do list for next week
- Add bookcase, table and post to JG shop & Factory
- Add quests (pizza)
- Add takeaway
- Add phone numbers and phone box/book

That's there so i don't forget lol. Goodbye.

Howdy. I've added a lot today - you know, an entire job...

Yes, I've added a Job at Omega - it's same as the job at JG but you can craft so much more products. The factory is behind the Treeton Omega shop and you can only have one job.

I've also added,
- Buy Chest, Crate, Fence, Furnace, Glass, Half Blocks, Ladders, Pane, Post, Ramp, Stained Glass, Stained Glass Panes, Stairs, Table, TrapDoor, Wood Door, Workbench at Omega. The only things you can't make at Omega job are the glass items.

- Grass, Post, bookcase and table at JG. The last three can be made at JG job.

- All Bridgetown houses are scripted

Here is some useless information.

Omega - Owned By God x Drive
Visitors: 1757
Sales: 165,860
Average Spent: 94 Aires

JG - Owned By casual onion
Visitors: 869
Sales: 65,925
Average Spent: 76 Aires

The job and Omega scripts took about 4 hours to do if your wondering. That's all for now. Bye!

Howdy,

One thing I have been noticing recently is how quiet the map has been this month, it's very unusual. I think there was just one day where it was particularly busy and I had 12 players. Honestly, I prefer it quieter as I love having a chat with players.

Back on topic, the map is still up and running and yes, I might have run out inspiration but that doesn't mean I'm starting a new map, this will very much continue. I've had some interesting suggestions for my map so I've made a poll with my favourite (none suggested by me so no bias!) to see what you think is a decent idea. I don't really like asking for help but it's pretty useful.

I have been adding some things to the map however. I have began constructing a digging mine with grass, sand & dirt, which is due for completion sometime next month. The obligatory few houses have built (including a hidden grass roofed house) even though I don't really need them but I just love building! I hope to start adding phone numbers into the game so you can ring up companies and order products from them which I think will be quite nifty.

The rivalry (if you call it that) between JG and Omega still continues with GxD's shop being twice as popular than my shop, JG. Though having said that, I have twice as many employees at my factory :)

> Paradise Square, Twinlakes added with a nice Park and a stream. Few more houses too.

> Two more green areas In Twinlakes

> Completely redesigned Cottonwood because literally no one goes there. Added JG, bungalows and houses for sale.

> Scripted loads of Treeton Apartments. Starting from 50,000 Aires at the moment

> Added a casino with three gamble amounts

> Opened Allotments and Farm Shop

So, not much really. Please join, I'm online everyday.

Howdy.

Don't worry, this map is still going, I just don't update this topic as much as I did with Baystone.

A couple of things have done since I last updated the topic.

> I fixed the job scripts which were a huge pain but should be working now!
> Player owned block shops have been added and require rank Team Leader to purchase.
> Rockford mine requires Rank Supervisor to enter
> Changed casino and lottery odds. Lowered jackpots on the former.
> More bug fixing.

Howdy!

Oh look, back at the daily updates!

I just wanted to mention a few changes to the Rockford Mine which are:

> It's being renamed the Rockford Supervisor Mine because you need that rank (50k) & mining level 24 to enter.
> It refills based on your mining level so only adds blocks you can mine - apparently a unique feature that no-one else has done! (Idea generated with help from rebel4life9989)

That's all. I'm really pleased with what I've added, even if it doesn't sound like much. I'll be hosting later...probably...

Yes. This is true, Everdale is no longer a ghost town (that nobody lived in first place). It has a whopping two residents. The JG has re-opened to serve the two residents and to bring in more revenue for the business, and me.

Probably should point out that Everdale is a new town behind cottonwood. So's Everdale valley, you can get to both places by bus. Everdale also has a mine and a wood mine. Other new features include:

> Hill Top Digging Mine (Sand, Dirt & Grass)

> Cheaper housing

> Shops for sale in Treeton.

> Re-designed JG Shops and Scripts. Closed Cottonwood & Ingot Shops.

> Rank Shop & Lottery added in Everdale

> Fixed job scripts again.

> Road from Hill Top to Everdale

> Player & Game statistics on custom menu.

> Visitor counters for main attractions for anyone interested in that stuff.

> Shopping guides in each village pay to have name in book or on a map marker.

That's all folks.

I'll let you know (when I remember to!) when I come online on the Discord server, shoutbox or in the lesser used TMHuttondale Kik group.

I fancy adding some stuff and as I'm looking at the map after a while away I can see some areas to improve but is there anything you really think the map should have? Remember, i'm all for realism!

That's all for now - I'll mention the updates I've done in this topic. Ta-tah

Apologies for digging up an old topic. Just wanted to have a quick update.

I don't host Huttondale anymore because I play way too much cities Skylines on Xbox One and it takes 42 years for players to join. Instead I host privately (though do message me for an invite).

I host a map called Building Stuff where I...clues in the name. Most of it is brand new builds but no scripting, just have-a-look stuff.

I'll get you some snazzy photos soon, hopefully some of a hotel that took 20 hours to build. Seriously - It's the longest I've ever spent building something.

I'm much more frequently seen on TM Discord (sorry) so just ping me on there.

Keep Digging :)

Yes, I am now working on Huttondale, the map co-built with @Gordinio. If it ain't broke don't fix it, though I'll admit something's could be fixed. I want to continue where I left off on the Xbox and do what I tried (and failed to do!) with Wappendale.

Huttondale V2? with More villages, More bridges, More variety (Probably).

So I'll update the original post with new photos and more information. Anyway, there's loads more to say as I'm properly looking forward to the relaunch of the longest map I've ever hosted (1.5 years!).

Post by: casual onion on February 04, 2018, 11:39:45 PM
I had a brainwave yesterday, which I honestly should have had a year ago but hey ho.

**Long post but it's worth reading if you have time, basically writing my thoughts down**

Anyway, I was thinking about jobs and that they should be taken to the next level. So you might remember the Barrow jobs with the bakery and butchers yeah? well I want to combine those jobs with the supply and demand system in Huttondale and make it so the map really does have an economy. Here's how I think it will work.

So say there's a mill. The mill uses wheat sourced from the farm to produce flour. The miller then sells flour on to either a bakery or a shop like JG. The shop will obviously then sell it onto the customer.

So what is the employees job?

- Turn wheat into flour
- Deliver and Sell flour to bakeries, shops and possibly customers (this will cost more than at JG though)

Like the JG and Omega jobs it will be done using clans, meaning that they can only have one job at a time.

What makes it different to previous maps is that there will be multiple places to work for each profession (e.g. two Mills) all under the same clan of miller. Because of this, the miller can choose to sell their wheat to either an independent bakery or a supermarket which I suppose adds an element of competition. Ideally the miller will want to make as much money as possible but as it is in the real world, it won't be that simple.

Say the miller has two choices to sell their flour to, a bakery or a supermarket.

The bakery offers 50 Aires for 10 Bags of flour (5 each)

Or

JG offers 100 Aires for 50 Bags of flour (2 Each)

The miller will have to decide whether time or money is more important. These examples aren't brilliant but you get the gist.

This can also be done for other industries. Take Ingots for example...

A Miner could get the ores and sell them to the blacksmiths for say 5 each or become a Miner (job) and get 7 Each, but this then limits what there main source of income is, do you really want to spend hours mining iron?

Any the blacksmiths turn this ore into Ingots and sell them on to businesses and customers. JG has a (an albeit closed) Ingots shop in Twinlakes so this could be one of the retailers that buy it.

I've thought about allowing players to make pickaxes and the like so they aren't restricted to mining iron. I'll have to get around the obvious possibly of theft by either:

- Making the prices you get from retailers high
- The opposite, taxing them when they leave factory and giving it back when it's sold.

I suppose this could lead to all sorts of things, maybe even a police job! Ha, maybe I'm getting carried away...

Obviously JG wants to make an income so will have a much higher profit margin (difference between buy from miller price and sell to customer price) then a bakery has.

Here's a few more jobs I can do complete with supply chains (job name in brackets)

Fishing from lakes (Angler) > Café (Chef) > Customer or direct from fishery to customer

*Angler collects fish, café cooks it

Farm (technically it's a slaughterhouse but farm is less offensive...)

Collects meat - you know how (Butcher) > Restaurant (Chef), Customer or Business (Retailer)

A retailer's job is simple, collect products to sell at the shop they work at. They can buy products direct from suppliers or other businesses to sell at their shop. If you own your own shop you are an entrepreneur not a retailer. I'll probably add a wholesaler job to satisfy this area.

Wholesalers will buy direct from producers (Anglers, Farmers, Millers etc) and sell only to those who run their own business (have at least rank team leader and a block shop) though I might make it so anyone with that rank can buy there.

I suppose there could also be an xp and rank system for jobs which will likely be for monetary gain. (maybe you collect money for hitting xp when selling - basically commission(

e.g. Sell 1 cooked beef for 10xp. Collect 10,000 xp for 1,000 Aires (equivalent to 100 points).

Lastly, when a business runs out of a specific produce eg cooked lamb chops it will notify the  map and those in associated clans (eg Butcher) will get a separate messagebox appear asking them to make more cooked lamb chops. It will look something like this..

[global] Wok n Roll is out of cooked beef!
[Butcher clan] Wok n Roll needs more cooked beef, send them raw beef from the Slaughterhouse!
[Chef clan] Cook more beef! Your customers want to give you money!

Basically employees can make or break a business! I could even make it so you can buy a business if you work there (when it comes up for Sale) and reap not just the benefits of the work you do but everyone else and build yourself a bigger premises!

To summarise the jobs that could be added...

- Miller
- Baker
- Butcher
- Angler
- Chef
- Retailer
- Farmer
- Wholesaler
- Entrepreneur (Shop Owner)

Damn this map is going to be awesome!

If you don't understand any area of this post, reply below and I'll make it make sense for you (and me lol)

TLDR: Jobs support other jobs.

But if you sell for less than JG, you won't make as much profit and ultimately money for you to fund your farm habit.

I'm in the process of basically rewriting the op at the moment and new photos are being added daily.

Today's progress is on a new bridge by Gordinio called Wear (Pronounced WEER) Bridge. I really quite like it a lot.

Progress has started on the neglected area between Bridgetown and Treeton. It's already home to the new JG Treeton and will also have Houses with spectacular views towards the Two Bridges. Omega is also refurbishing their factory which is located in the area.

Really coming along nicely, keep checking the op as I'm adding more every day 😀

I failed to mention the new JG Headquarters, located in Treeton. It's home to a public farm, large shop and a factory. I'm also planning a revolutionary new purchasing system in which you select products and take them to a cash register to pay for all at once. The old JG next to spawn is planned to be something else but not sure what yet.

This is correct, though I'll probably give it you back at the weekend. There's a lot of updates to give you so I'll list them.

> Updated, infact rewrote OP. Added new information, sections and pictures. Will be adding more photos as soon as I can so check back often.
> Added Jubilee House, a development of apartments by jg with some spectacular views over lakes, bridges, valleys and the beautiful JG Factory. In my opinion it's in the best location, close to three jobs and in between spawn and the mine. Prices will start from 31,000 and rise to 46,000 with a discount for JG Employees who've worked for a certain amount of time. I reckon they'll sell fast.
> Speaking of JG, I've added a new head office in Treeton. It's essentially taken over from the old factory near Spawn. It's also got a shop and public farm.
> The shop will use revolutionary technology where you choose all the products you want and take them to the checkout to buy, just like in the real world (more on this later in the week).
> For the factory, there's a mine and a farm which makes the job less monotonous. There'll essentially be 3 jobs in one
> Finished the interior and exterior of Jubilee Mill which will be home to miller job.
> Gordinio has added the Wearside Bridge which is occasionally spectacular.
> Added Little Sunderland and old Weardale in an area known as Wearside.

Things I'm planning to add that I'm a bit excited about

JG Update

There's been some changes to JG today. As you may be aware JG owned quite a few shops, almost 10 to be nowhere near precise. To give people more opportunity to run a business (as this is one of the new goals for the map) I've reduced the floor space that JG owns, as follows.

-> JG Bridgetown has closed. The nearest store is Treeton Bridge. Building split into two units above ground and for sale for 140,000 Aires. Basement is planned to be a market with purchasable stalls.

-> JG Everdale has also closed, the nearest shop is the new Wearside shop. Building is for sale.

-> Cottonwood and Twinlakes are a third smaller. Therefore they are now two floors instead of three, with an apartment available for sale above each store for 19k and 14k

To summarise here are the JG Stores...
-> Cottonwood (Also serves Everdale Valley and Hill Top)
-> Hutton on the Hill (also serves Duxford and Enclave)
-> Rockford (also serves Bricklyn)
-> Treeton HQ (also serves Bridgetown, Little Sunderland and Pilley)
-> Twinlakes (also serves Gorsey)
-> Wearside (also serves Everdale and Old Wearside)

And here are the factories...
-> Treeton Bridge (located in complex with shop)
-> Twinlakes

I'll be back to the usual monthly updates in May. /onion

June 3rd: Added more destinations on the bus system, mainly to the new villages.
June 4th: Closed JG Rockford and opened a new store, much closer to Rockford Mine called "Little JG". I also built more houses alongside that mine too.

theres a couple things that should be done to your new rpgs because they all seem to be the same but just the layout is different and a couple of addition with my upcoming map scrips wont run my economy the players will you should add guns and a couple of more jobs like a officer job or a theif job officers arrest theifs theifs can pick pocket players but if a cop wrongly accuses someone they get punished or something but you should change things up a bit the buildings don't have to be different but its getting boring just mining in a mine why don't you have it where players can edit outside of the city limits? idk if its just me or what but those are my ideas
Its set in the Uk so guns are illegal and we are working on adding more jobs than just mining.

Huttondale Monthly Update - August 2018

Howdy Folks!

Here we are in August, doesn't time go way, way too fast? This month I finally started scripting the 200 extra properties we've added since Xbox 360 to buy (plus the ones I didn't do then!). Right, here's what's changed.

Huttondale Additions - August
August 5th: Burdon Village built
August 6th: Burdon Village extended, town called Malice began construction. Five new bus stops added.
August 8th: Built Mill House for me to live in.
August 13th: New houses in Low Treeton .
August 14th: JG Wearside moves next door, streetlights in Burdon.
August 22nd: Built Great Hucklow village, construction begins on Bricklyn Gorge.
August 25th: Built stoney heights, a hillside mansion.
August 27th: Construction begins on Weardale Plaza, an apartment and shopping complex with unobstructed views of Wear Bridge.

OP Updates
Toying with the idea of rejigging the OP a bit. Definitely going to update all the photos because some are massively out of date. I've added the average house price of each village on the OP too. Overall the average is about 50,000 Aires.

Probably should have mentioned this before but if you owned a property during the Xbox 360 version, as long as you can somehow prove it's yours, you can keep it. Unfortunately I can't give you your money back or diamond pick you saved up for but it'll be a much more enjoyable way (and setting) to get it all back . I'll post on TM Discord when I'm hosting, which is almost every day. TTFN /onion

It's been good, we've probably added more since January than we ever did in the Xbox 360 version. We're now on 22 villages (12 more since the Xbox version of Huttondale).

There's many more we've added (that I've forgotten about!) and there's loads of photos on myself and Gordinio's steam pages.

Also, I post a monthly update on the last Tuesday of every month and I post in the TM Discord building chat a bit too often.
