Title: SetEventScript Overhaul
Post by: casual onion on February 14, 2018, 09:50:16 AM
Howdy.

I must first credit Gordinio for giving me the idea.

Basically he wanted to have it so when you entered his factory you could press a button and open the stocklist to see what needs making.

What I think could be changed.

- Allowing keys to be used as well as X-B-Y as this opens up loads of possibilities.
- Making the script run for longer. Because the stocklist is a menu I had to hold the button in for it to stay up.
- I can't see any way to clear the SetEventScript using scripts, say when you left a zone.

Suggestions, thoughts welcomed etc.

To clear it you just omit the script path.

What do you mean make it run longer?

To clear it you just omit the script path.

Can this be done through scripts?

What do you mean make it run longer?

The example i gave is the easiest way to explain it.

1: Yes. Just do the set event script and omit the script path.

2: And your example does not help me in the slightest. The event runs the script once. You can't just make a script run for longer unless you're using loops or waits.

Done, thanks.

Could you explain why I had to hold down B to keep the menu up? In its current state it's only good for like notes in quest maps for example.

It totally depends how you make the menu. Nothing to do with the script language or SetEventScript.

So in the current game would it still be possible to do this?

Basically he wanted to have it so when you entered his factory you could press a button and open the stocklist to see what needs making.
