advice/help on sprite?

as mentioned before(http://totalminerforums.net/index.php?topic=10843.msg124869#new), i am currently working on a game and need some help. I am still learning to sprite, but i finally have one i can work from. If anyone can give advice on how to make it work better, please tell me

I would personally say, try to avoid copying someone else's design, in this case, Megaman. Here are a few tips I hope will help.

1. Get a basis for a character, a basic design.
2. Avoid copying designs created by others
3. Make the body parts of your character separately, to make animating easier.

This is all I've got for now. If I can think of anything else, I'll let you know.

8 bit is easiest for me, sorry if he looks too much like megaman

That looks too big for 8-bit. Maximum size for character sprites is 24x24 according to some info found here:

I don't know how authentic that information is but if you are going for an 8-bit game then it might prove useful.

That would be great. Right now I'm just trying to find a cartoonish look more like 8 bit games then the current way games look. My biggest problem is spriteing. Once I get a base sprite I like, the game should be relatively easy to make.
