[Game] How to protect your hosted world from griefer modders.
« on: October 11, 2017, 02:46:05 PM »
Listen up! There are modders that give themselves admin and destroy your world.

Here's how to stay protected. (NO USB)

Well... from modders, not a data wipe.

Step 1: Copy the world.

Uh oh.. A modder joined your world!
Modder: *admin on* *destroyall*
World deleted.
Catch the person that gave themselves admin! There is a kick command in scripts, set one up for that person. Keep it looping, the person is banned. Before hosting again set this script up

Kick [Modder30] (Can be anything you want)
Loop [1440]

It'll loop on the player and kick them each time they join!

Step 2: Host the world after making the script.

Step 3: Run the script. (Even set it to when a player joins, start the script)

Step 4: Have fun!

EDIT: Load from the backup!

My 4 step handy reversal ban plan!

Sincerely, Forgeplex.

Warning! Do not use this!

From what I have heard, the griefing modders are not affected by kicking.
Also, the Kick command does not allow specific usernames to be kicked.

Then why is the command there? xD

I'm talking about load from the backup before they did it and set the script.

Then why is the command there? xD
It is still capable of kicking players; it is based from who activated the script including the command.
...I'm talking about load from the backup before they did it and set the script.
I do not understand where this is in reference towards.

...........I wish there was an option to ban. Any ideas? And why did they add it in if that's the case? xD

You might not be able to kick a specific player using a script but what you can do is assign a unique history to that player and set up a script to kick anyone with that history, such as:

if
hashistory [modder] [true]
then
kick

That might not be 100% accurate as i've not been on TM for a while but you get the idea.

Please do not feel safe by this kick script. Running scripts on Modders or kicking them will have no effect!
It's easy to notice them if they have a white nameplate.
Please be cautious. These Modders not only have the ability to give them self permmisions but they also have the ability to make another copy of your map on their data. They can basically steal your map.
Also this is the most terrifying ability they can do. THEY CAN SAVE YOUR WORLD!!!.
You can't kick them, you cant run any kind of scripts on them, and they can give them selfs perms and save your game.
If you have the time to save your game within 15 seconds before they load in then I highly recommend you do that then end the game ASAP.
Oh I forgot to say they can give you a code 4 error and send you to the dashboard any game you are in.

DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT THESE MODDERS SAY!!! They will try to lie to you and get your trust and convince you they are not greifers. It is a lie. It has happened to me and I hear people tell me how it happened to them too.

Don't try to come up with solutions for this. They can not be stopped unless they get bored and want to get off total miner.

There is no known way of removing griefing modders from a standard user's world. The only valid suggestion is to have an up-to-date backup of the world, and to not host publically.

If you can somehow get their IP Address then it's possible to block them at network level by adding the IP to your routers ban list. Getting the IP is the tricky part.

Which is why it will be so much easier to ban them on PC.

By auto plan do you mean kick while you are AFK? No there is no other way. Best way is to end the game ASAP and save if you can before they load in. Having another copy of your map would also be smart. Blocking them would also be smart so your map doesn't show up on list for worlds to join however they can still view your profile and join your world from there or anyones profile that is in your game. If you appear offline they wont be able to join your session in progress or anyones profile that appears offline. Maybe putting a sign or NPC in your world saying to prevent modders please appear offline so they cant view profile and join session in progress.

@Forgeplex Please update the OP. It would be bad if someone reads the OP and trusts that its a safe way to protect their map from modders.

That might not be 100% accurate as i've not been on TM for a while but you get the idea.

Alternatively, In a perfect world where these scripts work on them, You can ban them without them ever having been on your world by using their gamertag.

Var [Ban] = [hash:Modder]
Var [Gamertag] = [hash:[gamertag]]
If
  IsVar [Ban] [=] [Gamertag]
Then
  Kick
ElseIf
  Var [Ban] = [hash:Modder2]
  IsVar [Ban] = [Gamertag]
Then
  Kick
Etc...

This allows you to keep a global banlist across all of your worlds. Not useful against people who can't be kicked, But it is useful for other people you don't like. who break the rules.
