Ideas / Some of my ideas/suggestions
« Last post by RGCEclipse on June 01, 2018, 04:13:15 AM »
Before I list the things I'd like to see or think would be cool to see, I'm just gonna say most have most likely have been listed by other people.

1: Doubling the marker block limit/clipboard save limit.
A larger marker block limit would really be nice for larger scale builds, or terraforming projects while a larger save limit would come in handy for people who build large things and like to save and move them from world to world.

2: Being able to make full blocks with posts, slabs, and corner blocks as well as the addition of sideways slabs.
I don't know if it is possible but it would be cool to be able to have a different interior wall without having two block thick walls, as well as the ability to make checkered or custom (kind of) blocks with posts and corner blocks.

3: The addition of some sort of biome system alongside the infinite worlds update.
Seeing mountain ranges, large grass plains, deserts etc would be a nice feature in the game making the worlds feel more lively, and maybe new blocks and wood types with different textures along side those?

4: Larger mob spawning groups as well as more animals.
The animals feel kind of small, things like boars, sheep, horses, the list goes on would help survival and dig deep players feel less lonely in their worlds.

5: Custom structures that generate in your game.
Like number 2, I don't know how complex it would be to add something like this, but things as simple as small houses or as grand as abandoned temples atop hills would be great to see in Total Miner.

6: The ability to make custom "skins" or unlockables.
I love how you needed to complete goals to gain new characters to play as in TM:F, and am hoping that comes back, but what I'd really like to see is a way to make my own player ingame to fit what I wanna play as.

7: CCTV Screen.
Maybe a block with the ability to link up with the CCTV script and display what you would be seeing if you were to run that script yourself, I don't know what is really possible and what can be done for sure, but this was one of the more unique things I thought of.

8: Better world customization options.
Changing how your world loads is very limited at the moment, maybe an option to change the Survival and Creative height limit to up to 1000? As well as choosing what and what not to load by default into the world, ie shaded grass blocks.

Those are all the things that really come to mind when I think of the main things I'd really like to see added into the game right now, I can't wait to see how the game progresses now that it's on Steam and coming to PS4, keep up the good work Craig!

Questions and Answers / Where are maps that players create stored?
« Last post by Jeffy on June 01, 2018, 03:02:30 AM »
Hello

I was looking through this post and found that a link to a world download had been posted there so I downloaded it. I went into the files to try and find where the maps I created were stored so I could move it there but I couldn't find it. I'm assuming that's what I need to do to get it to show up in the list of maps I have but please correct me if i'm wrong.

Here is where I went to try and find that file, you can see the file path at the top:

Total Miner Discussion / New Texture Pack: Total Realism HD (WIP)
« Last post by scottmu65 on May 31, 2018, 03:17:43 PM »
Hi everyone,

Not sure if this should be in here or the 'Mods' forums so please move if it's in the wrong place.

Anyway, I have began working on a new HD texture pack, which for the moment I'm calling 'Total Realism HD' (Title is a work-in-progress). So basically the idea is to try and make this texture pack realistic and versatile, there's still a long way to go yet but I've made the initial textures and wanted to show you all the TP so far...

For the time being I've locally modified the Steampunk HD texture pack so that I can test the textures in-game.

So far the completed textures are:

Grass
Grass (Side)
Grass (Shaded)
Dirt
Wood Planks
Bricks
Alternate Brick Texture (Not sure which to use)
Wood
Sand

Block Textures (So Far):

Spoiler for Hidden Content:

In-game Screenshots (Using alternate Brick texture for now):

Feedback would be appreciated, at present I'm not sure if I am happy with the grass so may change that later on.
Anyway I'll try and keep this post updated for all who are interested.

Thanks
Scott

No one is saying don't bother. They're saying that any mods (not just the mp mod) not supported offically by Total Miner may not work. Especially after any updates. And that waiting for an offical solution would be a better idea.

You're welcome to keep trying to get the mod to work but you are asking the wrong people. Total Miner didn't make the mod so therefore are not responsible for it or obligated to get it working for you. Your issues are better directed to the mod creator and not Total Miner.

I'm not assuming anybody is obligated to do anything,  nor did I direct my question at 'Total Miner', I'm not even sure what you even mean by that, i posted a reply within the discussion forums, not PMing Craig about it.

I was directing it at users who have gotten the mod working correctly by posting my question on the mods forum thread. I've no idea where you got the idea that I'm holding the game itself accountable for a third party mod

I'm not fishing for an argument either btw.

You answered your own question there. It's not an offical MP solution so therefore it isn't guaranteed to work. As you've found out.

How is saying the mod isn't official answering my own question exactly? It's obviously not official but it has been suggested as a viable option on the games update feed.

https://steamcommunity.com/games/347600/announcements/detail/1673522637786661594

I merely wanted to know if anybody else has had similar issues with it and if there is a way to fix it.

It's clearly working for other people as It is is showing that other players are hosting worlds. I'm not here to debate whether or not the mod is worth using, the fact remains that it obviously does work to a certain extent but I've either done something wrong or something is stopping me from joining worlds and just wanted some advice.

Telling people to simply not bother trying isn't helpful. It's completely off-point.

Anybody have any ideas?

Be patient and wait for a legitimate multiplayer addition instead of a mod.

Seeing as this mod is a viable option and is even recommended by Studio Forge on the
game's news feed on Steam as a stop-gap until the official MP release then why wouldn't I want to get it working?
