servers
« on: November 13, 2017, 07:24:31 PM »
now this may be my last post for a while so I'm leaving it off with one last question that I deeply want to know.

~"Can you make servers to reduce lag?"~

I don't mean like a hosted map server (you probably know that), I mean like they did in crackdown 3 to make it so you could destroy buildings. I want to know this so I can use huge amounts of particles to reduce lag on a really creative server idea.
~I wanted to make this on pc~ I'm not going to turn this topic into a your world or a idea. so do any of know if this can be done? maybe?

What you're asking about is cloud computing, not a server. And realistically the answer is no. As well as being completely unnecessary. A dedicated gaming rig alone is already overkill for running TM.

i hope dedicated "servers" are a thing to look at. i just want to be in a position where i can be happy to log off and still have my server played on while i go to work.

I'm not too sure if my GTX -1080 will be able to run it, i'm worried bob.

If it is being used as the CPU, I would be as well.

A gpu with a - before it doesn't seem that impressive.

Besides, any real gamer would have a 1080ti.

It's not a matter of if but when dedicated servers are possible. Potentially as soon as multiplayer is supported.
