Gaming / The Crew 2
« on: June 25, 2018, 04:18:03 PM »
Any one here got or getting The Crew 2?

I've got the Motor Edition so i'll be playing and streaming it early (in just under 3 hours hopefully). It'd be nice to find others who also have it early or who plan on playing it.

Your world / [Other] World showcase competition.
« on: May 01, 2018, 05:57:21 AM »
Hola, with multiplayer getting closer (no release date yet though) I am looking for a world to set up as a demo server once it's implemented.

Whichever world I choose, the creator will get free server hosting for a world of his choosing once we have multiplayer.

The world should be of a decent size and will be used only as a showcase so no permissions will be granted. To anyone. The bigger the better and ideally it should be populated. And by that I mean as many buildings, npcs etc... as possible. Think of it as a system world but on a much bigger scale. Ideally 1024x1024 but if the quality is good, less will be considered.

Submissions can start right away and will be closed upon multiplayer release or 24 hours before if it's pre-announced.

Upload your world to Google Drive, Dropbox etc... and pm me a link to it. If there's multiple contenders then I will create a poll and let the community choose.

Thanks, and have fun. Any questions are welcome.

General Discussion / ImgBit - A free and simple image hosting website.
« on: January 06, 2018, 04:32:35 AM »
Hola all. I see so many members complaining about imgur & tinypic that I decided to host my own image hosting website with the aim of it being fast and simple. Hopefully this will make it easier for members and will also encourage members to add screenshots to their downloads aswell. It is the same method whether you are making a post or submitting a download.

Firstly you're going to need your screenshots. This is easily done in Windows 10 by pressing the windows key and print screen. This will automatically save the respective screenshot into your Pictures > Screenshots folder.

Next you need to open the ImgBit website in your browser then bring your screenshots folder to the foreground/front as shown below.

Then you can drag and drop any images you want to upload on to any page on the ImgBit website as shown below.

If preferred you can also use the main upload button on the homepage.

Once you have done this and if you have created an account on ImgBit then you will see a dropdown list of any albums you have created to add the images to, like the image below.

After you have selected your album to upload to or if you are uploading as a guest then you will be taken straight to the image links like below.

From the Embed Codes drop down list you will see all available methods of linking your images. For the Total Miner forum (posts & downloads) I would recommend using -> BBCode medium linked.

Once you've selected the above you will then see the required BBCode as shown below:

Using the above displayed BBCode will result in the images being shown like:

This is my own website, on my own servers so if you have any questions or suggestions then please let me know.

I hope this makes it easier for members to add screenshots to their topics and posts as well as adding screenshots to their submitted downloads.

General Discussion / Gaming Screenshots needed.
« on: January 03, 2018, 11:38:39 PM »
Hola. I'm working on some new projects and I need lots of various gaming screenshots.

Must be 1920x1080 at least and good quality. Doesn't have to be TM as I want a good mixture of games.

Also without the hud.

If used I will happily credit the creator.

If you choose to send or post any then you are giving me permission to use them on various websites and projects of my creation.

Specify whether you want crediting or not. If so, What name? And if you want your name linking somewhere then where? TM Profile? Steam profile? Other?

Gaming / Command & Conquer
« on: October 06, 2016, 05:35:58 PM »
A few of us here play Command & Conquer:

The game series is RTS and has been around for over 20 years.

The first few games can now be downloaded and played for free from cncnet though anything after Tiberian Sun requires you to have purchased and own the game. You can get the full collection of 17 games for around $20 from Origin and is a bargain if you're a fan of that genre.

Myself & GK play mostly Red Alert 3 with a bit of Red Alert 1 & 2 & Kanes Wrath. Though we will likely play any of the games if we can find more people who want to play.

You can download and play for free:

Command & Conquer
Command & Conquer: Red Alert
Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun

Any after that need to be purchased but can be played online using:

Discuss if you play them or want to play the free ones. I'm sure myself & GK (and PWR occasionally) can entertain you.

Fun House / ThingsthatPWRBTTNsays Quote of the month. - July 2016

:) If any mods or admins are not happy with this topic or the "advertising" then please feel free to remove it.  :) -

ThingsthatPWRBTTNsays isn't a hate site nor is it intended to ridicule anyone. We all love PWRBTTN. If you don't, then you've come to the wrong place. He's a good friend to most of us and his constant typos on the TotalMiner Forums are of endless amusment to us all. That's why the website exists.

I created the website just as a bit of fun but got way more submissions from other people than I expected. PWRBTTN is well aware of the website and knows he can request individual quotes or the website as a whole to be removed at any time. PWRBTTN even chose the colour scheme and provided the logo.

I figured i'd find out what other members find the funniest quote of the month. Which will then be pinned to the top of the relevant page. Just for a bit more member input.  :)

I only chose 5 as 23 poll options is a bit too much but feel free to comment if the one you like best isn't shown. Especially the more risque ones that I liked but didn't feel appropriate to post here.

I'm well aware that 3/5 i've chosen were submitted by me but as I was the only one submitting them to begin with, that's to be expected.

Fun House / Game trilogys etc..
« on: March 29, 2016, 11:13:18 PM »
So. I plan on recording and streaming a game trilogy soon, most likely Bioshock but can't make my mind up between that and Fallout, Half Life, Mass Effect, S.T.A.L.K.E.R or Crysis.

Which got me thinking. What other good trilogys (or quadrilogys or more) are there out there? Preferably ones that have some continuity between releases and ideally PC releases.

I know there's GoW and Halo but i've pretty much switched over to PC gaming now.

The best ones i've played are:

Bioshock - Loved 1, Not a massive fan of 2 and although i like Infinite it just feels weird not being underwater. But still amazing games.

Dreamfall - Dreamfall: The Longest Journey is an amazing game with such an engrossing story. Dreamfall: The Longest Journey is the 2nd of the series with The Longest Journey being the first and Dreamfall: Chapters being the 3rd. I've only played the 2nd one though.

Half Life - Do i really need to say anything? If you've played it, you probably love it. If not. Why not? You don't know what you're missing. #WeNeedHL3

So, What game series have you liked or would recommned?

Edit: Just realised this would be better off in the Games section but oh well, too late now and it wont hurt to have a Fun House topic that makes sense for once.

Ideas / 2 ideas: Keep items & health regen.
« on: January 18, 2016, 07:37:32 AM »
Not sure if the first one has been suggested before. I know the 2nd one has, by myself. But thought i'd refresh the idea.

An option on zones for whether the player should keep there inventory or not when they die in that zone.

An option to turn health regeneration off on creative worlds. This could be in the game options above or below combat on/off and would make farming and food useful and worthwile on creative worlds. Would be great for RPG worlds.

Creative Features / Guns - Variable damage
« on: January 16, 2016, 09:35:45 PM »
Just a quick script i made to show how to vary the damage done by guns depending on the distance to the target:

You can add more by copying lines 6-10 and pasting them below one of the lines that starts with Health.

Change the 10 in [vrel:10,0,0] to the distance you want and Health [-500] to the damage you want.

Video / World Hopping on Deathmatches - Oh the joy!
« on: November 30, 2015, 04:59:43 AM »
Another world hopping video but this time, unfortunately, it's Deathmatches....

Yes, i know the commentary sucks but it was my first time trying it. Hopefully i'll get better the more i do it  :)

Also, remember that the commentary is just my opinion. Others may like Deathmatches and the worlds visited.

Any opinions, both good and bad are most welcome.

So, recently got my Elgato HD and figured i'd try a spot of world hopping. Chose 3 worlds that are worth visiting. 2 RPGs and 1 WiP.

First up is Liam B - Catsbury - World topic

Spoiler for Hidden Content:
RPG - Local Skills

  • Good and very extensive world using up almost all of the world (1024x1024).
  • Some brilliant buildings and small villages.
  • Everything seems to have been spaced out well with nothing miles away or next to each other.
  • Amazing and very detailed dungeon which is what seems like a longish and hard quest.
  • Whilst there does seem to be some form of story i couldn't quite figure out where everything was. Though that could have been because i was too preoccupied with taking photos.

5 stars and a favourite from me.

Secondly, we have FUNKYTOAST1 - CITYOFRAPTURE - World topic

Spoiler for Hidden Content:
RPG - No Skills

  • It's a replica of Bioshock. Need i say more?
  • Amazing detail and effort gone into this world.
  • Pretty much all of the accessible areas are underwater.
  • If you've ever played Bioshock 1 then you'll certainly recognise the spawn area and lighthouse. Very accurate.
  • Can't help but feel it could do with more guidance for players as i've completed Bioshock and even i was a bit lost as to where to go and what to do.

5 stars and a favourite from me.

And an honourable mention: FoxyThePirateX1 - Tragoris?

Spoiler for Hidden Content:
Work in Progress - No opinions as yet as it's a WiP. But a very detailed one at that.

And finally, this one which i have no idea what it is. Maybe Foxy could explain....

If anyone would like to be included in my next episode then let me know. But be warned, i give honest reviews both good and bad and i am brutally honest. But also remember that these are just my opinions. Others may think differently.

Ideas / Health percentage.
« on: November 18, 2015, 09:14:30 PM »
The ability to reduce someone's health by a percentage:

Health [-10] [1000] [amount|percent]

This would be ideal for worlds like my own who have skills on and want to have zones which slowly decrease health. You could make it so all players would only have the same amount of time in that zone regardless of there health amount.

Total Miner Discussion / Modder/Hacker on Totalminer - Video
« on: November 12, 2015, 03:20:42 PM »
I have a longer clip that is still processing from when he joined until i ended my world but it doesn't really show much except me trying to kick him. The notification coming up that he'd been kicked but it not kicking him.

There's been much discussion on the shoutbox recently about this person but no proof so far. Until now.

Apologies for the music but it's what the xbox was playing whilst i was recording.

Questions and Answers / Script blocks and buttons options and setup.
« on: November 11, 2015, 04:39:01 PM »
I'm trying to setup a script block that can be used from both sides of a wall:

When adding a button to a block adjacent to the script block the far left option works. None of the other two work.

If you look at the far right option and imagine the green blocks would be the wall (but 3 blocks wide, making the script block the center block of the wall) Then that's what i'm trying to achieve.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ideas / Show minimap.
« on: November 05, 2015, 06:30:41 AM »
Only a small thing but i think it'd help to have a way to switch the minimap on for players automatically. This could be done one of two ways:

1. When a players Map permission is enabled it automatically enables there minimap.

2. A way to enable it with a script: Minimap [on|off]

The reason i'd like to see this is i have some buildings where the map permission is disabled when they enter (so that they can't use the minimap whilst inside the building) and it is re-enabled when they leave the building.
