Total Miner Discussion / [Other] Re: What Happened To Total Miner
« on: January 21, 2019, 08:57:25 AM »
Wow. This is one of those topics where everyone seems to be having a heart-to-heart about their TM child hoods lmao. I’m gonna join the therapy session with some of my own views.

I’d say I’m relatively known in this community and honestly it was a huge part of my early childhood. It was at least 5 years ago that I started playing TM - if not 6 years - not only was it a brilliant game but it became an escape for me. Let’s say a year has passed by and I decide to join the forums, honestly I will have to say I was disappointed. I will have to agree with Jared where he earlier stated that the community can - repeat can - be toxic.

Now I’m not going to say I was an angel when I joined the forums nor am I going to say I am now. I am however going to say that the abuse I received when I initially joined the forums and sometimes even now still, was and is damaging to my character. I will add to this that I joined from an early age and my maturity was not what I’d hope it is now. Anyway, the point I’m making is that there are people who have been in this community for a long time and some of them seem to rank themselves higher than most and honestly it’s just childish and stupid.

That aside, TM was a game I played on 360 for many years. I grew friendships, skills and even knowledge through the game. I had a sense of pride for the portfolio of maps I had, I became best friends with a game rather than people. The people that I felt most comfortable around were made of pixels. Every time I felt down I knew I could enter a world of my own imagination and clear my head. Total miner saved me from overthinking a lot and thus improved my life.

PC edition was released and I was gifted total miner (Thankyou!!) and whilst we’re on the subject of gifts I might as well throw in my thanks again to Derfen for purchasing me XBL gold a while ago! We all knew it would come without multiplayer and we were happy. The Piknet multiplayer mod came out and though I have yet to use the mod others seems pretty happy with it. The BETA thing came out and started crashing loads of peoples games lol and that set the community together as we all tried to figure that out.

Friendships are being destroyed, forgotten about. A game that once bought people together is now setting them apart because we aren’t hearing much from the development team. Don’t get me wrong the respect I have for Craig and anyone else in the background of the development is huge but when will we hear future plans. Not the plans of “one day there will be multiplayer” or “I’m having another break” we wanna hear when you’ll be back from your break, your priorities etc.

I for one do not believe this game is dead but I do believe the community itself is starting to crumble.

This is not a dig at anyone,

Bug Reports [PC Beta] / New Menu -> Old Menu Bug
« on: January 12, 2019, 09:24:19 AM »

Another bug found! When scripting, if you click on “Cancel Running Script” then it will revert from the new menu style (the blue looking one) back to the old menu style (the dark 360 one)

Bug Reports [PC Beta] / Respawn Scripts Doesn’t Work On Escape
« on: January 12, 2019, 08:59:18 AM »

Quick bug report, I’m playing PC version. If you set a script to apply when the player respawns it doesn’t apply the script when the player escapes. I have tested and it does work on “legitimate deaths” such as jumping into lava.

Your world / [RPG] Aerilon
« on: January 02, 2019, 04:44:17 PM »
Travellers, the time to halt your explorations has come. You have stumbled across the lost town of Aerilon, an ancient medieval adventure for you to learn about. You’re to inhabit this town for a while until further instructions. Whilst you live here you’ll be faced with sleep-depriving, hunger-driven challenges that will decide on your ultimate fate. Will you live in this poor environment and grow to be wealthy and popular, or will you let the darkness consume you as you work your way toward the grave.

You’re one of us now, an Aerilonian. To survive you must work doing tedious jobs at first but if you succeed greatly perhaps you could be head of your own business. Will you craft tools or armour? Will you mine in caves for your chance to strike lucky? Aerilonian’s work hard to deliver the future they dream of, one day you could be living a luxurious life.

You will be honoured a low-ranking pickaxe with some petty cash we rounded up for you from generous donations. The town is looking forward to seeing how you progress.

Spoiler for Pictures:
Coming Soon! I only have a few buildings built so I’m gonna wait  until I have built more to upload images! Thanks for waiting patiently.

General Discussion / Re: [How to] Building your own gaming PC?
« on: December 26, 2018, 08:48:58 AM »
Heya guys!

So I’m in the process of building myself a new PC. I’ve bought an MSI Gaming Motherboard (Z270 Gaming Plus). Over the next few months I aim to have my PC created. It’s my birthday in mid March so I’m hoping that around about then I’ll have finished making it.

Just thought I’d make a post here as I am very excited about it!!

I rate this so so much!

Yes please. I can imagine so many scripts benefitting from this to complete great worlds. This would be a really fun, interactive function to the game.

You click E whilst looking at the NPC block which should take to you the block description pop-up. Click the button to modify the NPC (Can't remember what it's called) and the option to change it should be there :)

Black Squad is an all time free to play game that I thoroughly enjoy. It's an FPS with brilliant graphics and gameplay. You can grab this game at anytime as it will always be free, you just need a steam account.

Does it bother you that the sole purpose of a potato is to be eaten?

Do you know any languages?

Reason behind your usernames Jesse and Mysterio?
Fears? Ambitions?

Questions and Answers / [Answered] Re: unlockables
« on: February 11, 2018, 02:15:39 AM »
Don't quote me on this because this is just my guess

I don't expect we'll see unlockables in the DigDeep update, mainly because Craig hasn't mentioned it. I feel that's a big part of an update to forget to mention. I don't really think we'll see it before multiplayer to be honest I think it'd make alot more sense to put it in the multiplayer release. There's a reason that they're not already on there now right? And I think core functions of the game such as multiplayer and DigDeep are bigger priority than Unlockables

Just my opinion

Why would we need it in the windows 10 store if we already have it on steam? Seems completely unnecessary to me. @scottmu65

5 best friends you met off total miner?

Okay, hate to offend anyone but here's my list lol

In no particular order..
1.Casual Onion
2.GxD or Gordinio

Hey! I've made it! Thanks!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I'd hope that in five years time (when I am 22 as ill be 15 in two months) ill have joined the British army and am healthy. If that doesn't happen then I'd like to be doing some kind of software programming job.

Have you ever eaten a crab?

Yes, not the most delightful thing I've eaten.
