2.5 - Xbox Final

The final Xbox 360 update.

This update must be submitted to peer review around 25 August.
There is no time for features, only time for fixes.

Additions:
Corner ramps (auto).
Posts can be positioned in corners.
Ramps2, Stairs2, Halfblocks2, Stacks2, Post2, MT2 (for more textures).
6 new tech blocks (most emit light).
5 new color blocks.
2 new crops.
15 herbs.
Demigods are now unlockable.
New [*move] MobState script command option.
IsInZone and SetRegionAux script commands.
Added var [hash:text], [eye:x|y|z], [sqrt:x]
SetEventScript accepts position and scale for Button events.

Fixes:
Measure and Remove Marker menu items swapped.
Item script command properties clamped.
Heal property added to Item script command.
Chat log filters not showing sent msgs.
Decimal point spam on number entry windows.
Script particle command not finding custom templates.
Script Skill command fix.
Script documentation fixes.
[r,g,b] now defaults alpha to 255.
Sphere tool capped when using multiple markers.
Handyman and Chef unlockable fixed.
Some textures realigned.
Creative tool seed / remote synch problems fixed.
Script IsRandom [rand:x] remote synch fixed.
Locked Door key bug fixed.
Some sound issues fixed.
Some exploits removed.
CCTV flashing removed.
Messagebox NoCancel fixed.
HUD fixes.
Ramp lighting fixes.
Various other fixes.

Just letting you all know I hope to submit Total Miner Update Version 2.5 - XBox 360 final to peer review in 24 hours, absolute latest 48 hours. That will give us a safe ten days to get the game through peer review, even if it gets failed the first time. There are some obstacles that may affect a speedy release so I must factor in 2-3 days to cover that. If all goes well we'll have a stable release for the next two years on the marketplace before the 9th Sep, which is the release/update cutoff date.

Just a heads up. I'm probably going to have to drop the System Steampunk map from 2.5 because the game package is now too big. So if you want a copy, make a copy now in 2.44. Silver lining is you get an extra song.

Scratch that, the game copies the map to your HDD the first time it's run, so you'll all still have a copy. Only new purchases won't.

Ok, 60 hours later and I still haven't submitted. It's moving into night time now in the U.S. If I submit the game now, it will be another hour or two before it's available for review, but everyone who can review will be asleep. So I'm going to use the next 4-6 hours to hunt bugs, then I will submit so that it will be ready for review when the U.S. wakes up.

The Total Miner: Forge 2.5 Xbox Final update has been submitted to peer review.

We hope to have it released before Sept 9, which is the cutoff date for XBLIG updates.

Thanks to everyone who posted bug reports, you all helped make 2.5 better. I think it's safe to say 2.5 is the most stable release ever.

Thanks to everyone who posted Title screen shots. There were many good ones. Unfortunately the last week was hectic, I worked 110 hours this last week to try get everything I could fixed and polished, and I just simply ran out of time to properly go through the Title screen shots. There are many I would have liked to have added.

I've still had no word back from MS regarding a time to release the update. Hopefully it's just because it was a holiday today in the U.S. Hopefully they will get back to me tomorrow and the update will get pushed through in the next 48 hours.

Second worst case scenario is they don't get back to me at all, and I am forced to just release it on the 8th Sep, and pray they upload it sometime soon after.

Moral of the story, back up your copy of the game.

MS have contacted me and told me to publish the game as the engineers can't do anything until the publish to marketplace fails.

It's late afternoon in the US now so it's unlikely any engineers will do anything today. So rather than publish now and have the game broken for almost 24 hours, I'll publish later, and hopefully the engineers can fix it tomorrow morning and minimize the time it's broken on the marketplace.

The 2.5 update should roll out in the next few hours. But please, DON'T DOWNLOAD IT. It will delete the game from your console. Wait for me to post here when it's been fixed and is safe to download. In the meantime, back up your TM game and data files to USB.

I repeat, if the dashboard prompts you to download the update, don't download it. Wait until you see a new post on this topic saying it's safe to download.
