Questions and Answers / Re: Steam Username for TMF
« on: Today at 12:05:51 AM »
It will be your profile name (the one you can change at anytime). Your username (the one you use to login with and is displayed at the top right of Steam) is only known to you and anyone you choose to give it to.

It wont mess anything up as all Steam games work like this.
How will the game work with locked chests ? Jeff owns this chest another Jeff logs in ooo he can open it. How will the code read for that , same with local skills and other things? Will it go by IP ? Or what ?

Read my post again. Seems I didn't modify it in time  :)

In the case of Minecraft, your UUID would remain the same whether you used Jeff1, Jeff10 or Jeff1000 as your username. All items and chests etc.... would be linked to the UUID and not your username.

The easiest way for TM on Steam would be for anything related to that username being stored under the Steam username that profile belongs to. That way you would be able to change your Steam profile name (and your TM display name) anytime you wish without losing any stats or items. It would also stop other players choosing the same username and getting your stuff.

Edit:

As you can see from the two examples below, the IP Address is used alongside your username to differentiate between two users using the same username. Some games like Minecraft also use a UUID (Universally Unique IDentifier) to further confirm the account the username is being used with.

Team Fortress 2:

Client "Fuertey" connected (01.02.03.004:27005)

Minecraft:

[05:59:56] [User Authenticator #1/INFO]: UUID of player Fuertey is 8667ba71-b85a-4004-af54-457a9734eed7
[05:59:57] [Server thread/INFO]: Fuertey[/01.02.03.004:50598] logged in with entity id 224
[06:00:14] [Server thread/INFO]: Fuertey lost connection: Disconnected
[06:00:14] [Server thread/INFO]: Fuertey left the game

You're just jealous of Craig!    BTW why do we need servers just leave your PC on! 24/7 lol.

There's many reasons. Gameservers can be rented for as little as £4-5 a month. Having your PC on 24/7 would cost more than that in electric for the month.

Not to mention better hardware, infrastructure and connectivity.

A gpu with a - before it doesn't seem that impressive.

Besides, any real gamer would have a 1080ti.

It's not a matter of if but when dedicated servers are possible. Potentially as soon as multiplayer is supported.

No. It adds it as a system history. Think of it like a global history for your world.

But like I said. Be sure to check the exact commands as mine are likely to be wrong.

Don't even use my 360 anymore so the commands wont be accurate but the method should be.

On the button they use to refill use the following:

If
History [minerefill] [false]
Then
History [minerefill] [add]
Your fill script here
wait [timetowaithere]
History [minerefill] [remove]
Else
Notify [You can't refill this mine right now. Please try again later.] [local]

Or you could, you know, use the search feature? Or maybe take a look at the first forum section? The forum section you scrolled past to be able to create this pointless topic.

Not a bad deal if you don't have it on PC.

Just wait at the end of the road and steal it from the kids. It is the night for scaring them after all.

I'll be sat at home waiting for trick or treaters.

It makes a nice change for the children to come to my door instead of me having to go out and find them.
